There is going to be way too much stuff to collect in this game, from all the plants, pets, weapons, fossils when they're in..
Thanks for the reddit link. No, I know better than to try and collect procedurally generated-weapons. There are special pre-built weapons though, so collecting those isn't entirely out of the question. And of course, I'll save any weapons that I like the look of.
As for fossils, I hope it works like Animal Crossing: you find a set number of fossils for a set number of species, and once you have a complete skeleton you can combine them to create a museum-like display. Because I'm already making a museum for art, I might as well have a natural history wing.
Funny story though as far as procedurally generated stuff goes. We used to play an old Mac RPG called Realmz, and my dad was especially into mapping all the dungeons for secret walls and treasure. He had a big folder full of graph paper maps. When he saw us playing Diablo 2 he was interested in trying it, but a few hours in he called us to wonder why his map was so off. He didn't realize it was randomly generated. I think he kind of lost interest in it a bit then, but he stuck with it. Turned his attention to hoarding too, his storage chest was
packed with Perfect gems.

Sorry, not yet. From the Beta FAQ thread: "Not yet. It's something we want to add for sure but it hasn't been on the top of our list of priorities."

They were talking about this in the stream the other night; there are little beacons you find (at least, I think they found it, I didn't see exactly) and place that summon an NPC to wherever you drop it. In this case, it was an Avian guard, but Tiy mentioned there are merchants, pirates, etc. to find.

According to the Beta FAQ thread, there's only 2 mechs currently in right now.

Not only that, but the game has full .abc compatibility, meaning you can write or download songs and have them automatically play in game, rather than manually jamming on the keyboard to play individual notes. Lord of the Rings Online did this and it was
awesome.
