There's a constant stream of questions regarding "WHEN IS X FREE ON PS+" in here. So much so, that I've started making jokes about it.

What we need is a modbot that comes in and answers everytime someone asks. :lol

PS+ in EU gives the full month's worth of content the wednesday before the 1st of the month (the last store update for the previous month).

PS+ in NA gives 1 game per week. The last 2 weeks of the month are Vita titles. Thus Sonic will be free either 12/24 or 12/31.

Vita retail is pretty much always the last week of the month. Oh and New Years Eve is on Tuesday so that makes me wonder if they'll update the store a day early. Didn't they do that last year?

Edit: Nope. They updated on New Years Eve last year which was Monday so they wouldn't have to update on New Years Day which was a Tuesday http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/...re-update-272/

THE GAME HAS PRETTY MUCH ENDLESS REPLAY VALUE.

Yes. You need to get all the blades again. I remember when I just thought you had to beat the game on Fury and I was like, "HAY THIS ISNT SO BAD." Aw, damn. It's tedious grinding through the regular difficulties. Doing it AGAIN for Fury, with one-hit kills... It's not even that hard, it's just an ABSOLUTE GRIND. There's no skill involved in just mashing the circle button. When I finished, I didn't feel proud because I overcame a challenge. I felt proud (and kind pathetic) because I willed myself to persevere through the tedium.

Just put a couple days aside and commit yourself to it. It's not fun by any stretch, but dem plats.

Just finished playing an hour of Stick It to the man, It's a very unique and very good looking game on the Vita screen. I like that it combines some light platforming with it's interesting puzzle mechanics with the stickers. It's a little difficult making out what parts of the world are interactive at first but once you know what to look for it's easy to decipher.

I'm really enjoying the game alot and I've only been playing for a bit, The touch controls are very responsive and snappy and the it's alot easier than using the control stick to use the hand. The art style however gives me a very strong Psychonauts vibe (which is not a bad thing at all) and it actually helps me enjoy the game more.

It does if you count its endless cheap death tricks :/

I've been playing this for a while and barely made it to the jungle level, the game's on the frustrating side despite the controls being good and the gameplay seems to be fine.

Are there any tips someone should know?

The game is supposed to be difficult and unforgiving. It is not cheap though. The randomness has only gotten me cheap deaths a handful of times. They suck when they happen, but they are so rare that they don't become a problem for me.

So, I finally decided to clean up those brand new icons added from fw3.0, starting from "PS4 remote play" or whatever it was named. I moved it into my System bubble and this is what I ended up with:

2 Spelunky icons and "PS4 remote play" one has completely disappeared from my Vita now... LOL

There's a ton of tips... EsotericManiac had put together a guide on some of the more advanced stuff with pictures.

I guess it depends on how you play and your play style, but if you learn how to overcome whatever is currently killing you most of the time, you will do better. I was rusty when I first started playing again regularly, now I make it to the temple (or at least the ice caves) most of the time.

Move slowly. Use the "look" feature to scan below or above you for the torch stands, then move to them carefully and light with your torch. If you have a shotgun and are careful, you can use it to make a bit of light upon firing.

Having played through and platinum'd Tearaway, I now set my sights on Killzone Mercenary as well as Ys: Memories of Celceta to play next.

Also want to plug more time into Soul Sacrifice and then the Sonic Kart Racer + Trials clone later this month.

Damn it's nice to be a Vita gamer.

Hmmm is that a gameplay screen? It looks really blurry, even keeping in mind image compression. If it's a video, maybe it's just bad video compression :/

I'm going to buy all the Arc the Lad games next year, unless I get a PSN card for Christmas.

Happy to see another few games added to PS Vita. Wish Sony would do more sales for first party PSP games. Would like to buy Secret Agent Clank and play it on Vita... would buy R&C: Size Matters too, but the hassle of needing to transfer really kills my impulse to re-buy a game. It'd be less of a hassle to just get the UMD and play on PSP.

Sony need to short that ish out.

thats from my vita screenshot, it's only blurry because of it's been upsized when i uploaded it. The game looks fine on the Vita to me. There is some slight blurry-ness on the main character model for some reason while the rest of the resolution on other characters and the background is very good so that's probably what you're seeing.

Flying Hamster HD
Strikers 1945 Plus (PSP)
The Red Star (PSP) isn't exactly a shmup, but it has sections that are reminiscent of one.
Other PSP titles like Gradius Collection might work for you as well.

Unfortunately SCEA/IREM dropped the ball and none of the R-Type games work.

It depends on which one you buy. There's one in which you get both the PS3 and Vita versions, one for only the Vita version, and a discounted Vita version if you already own the PS3 version.

Picked up Terraria for the holiday sale price in the hopes that it will be cross buy when it eventually comes out. If not I got a great price on a game that I probably won't get around to in the next 6 months.

Killer feature for me.

EDIT: Also took my Vita to my girlfriend's parents house this weekend and played PS4 via Remote Play for a half hour or so. Assassin's Creed 4, zero hiccups at all. Worked as well as it does over my home WiFi. (For reference: I was about 40 miles from home. 50Mbps down & 25Mbps up at home on the PS4 via Ethernet cable, and ~30Mbps down at gf's parents' house over WiFi)

If it's working flawlessly, it's most likely direct connect. Though based on the post above mine, who knows. Connecting to the PS4 directly means that you're basically making your PS4 an ad-hoc router for your Vita, so maybe that connection was being interfered with in ways that his wifi connection circumvented.

I'm also guessing his PS4 is (properly) hooked up via cat5 ethernet cable.
