Enjoy Valkyria Chronicles! Lots of fun and the story/writing is surprisingly great if a bit cheesy some of the time. Ni no Kuni is great, too. Try 3D Dot Game Heroes if you ever liked old school Zelda gameplay.

MGS Collection I have on 360, the Uncharted games I actually forgot, I'll get them all for sure and Journey as well.

Dont get too many. Stick to like 5 maximum first of all... But your list sounds brilliant for now. Play Demons Souls. You won't regret it.

inFamous 2 falls apart in the middle as does the framerate. Get the standalone PSN inFamous title. It's the perfect length and while it still has a crappy framerate a lot of the time, it's better than inFamous 2's. As others said, Journey is a must.

I dont blame you. Some fantastic memories with that back in the day... Still holds up well now!

At this point, it will be a huge, HUGE advantage for you.

How did I miss CTR? Fuck. Welp. I'll have to fight that purchase. I've got MK7 for my karting needs.

Check out 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's an Ode to Classic Zelda gameplay with an interesting voxel graphical style.

ModNation Racers is PS3's answer to MarioKart except you can totally customize your avatars appearance and create tracks. It's one of the most in depth methods of track creation in a console racing game to date.

If you don't own a Vita and like the Disgaea series, Disgaea 3, 4, and D2 are console exclusives on the PS3.

Others have already recommended Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Demon's Souls, Ni no Kuni, Valkyria Chronicles, The InFamous Collection is also worth checking out.

Now for digital stuff. Flower and Journey are obvious recommendations. Also don't forget to check out Wipeout HD, Super Star Dust HD, Rainbow Moon and it's upcoming sequel Rainbow Skies.

I could probably come up with more games, but I think what was recommended thus far is a solid list to check out.

Oh and of course, Gran Turismo 6

I'm still in the "new PS3 owner" phase and I'm pretty much just resigning myself to the lazy river of PS Plus releases. They keep on releasing content-heavy RPG's, so it's plenty alone.

I tried Demon's Souls and I can't beat the first level (post-Nexus). I'm making mild progress in Dark Souls though, but I don't think the series is for me.

Edit: I should learn to read.

My fav last gen system. Never thought at the beginning of the gen I would say that but it ended up being a fantastic system

I would recommend MGS4.

PS4 released and Sony had a host of problems with PSN.

Use the web store though. The PS3 store is garbage.

I just picked up the Black Friday Bundle myself, after being 360 the whole gen, its good to be able to finally play all the ps3 exclusives I've missed.

I played LBP a lot on the PSP, but if I find the latest one for very cheap, I'll buy it. GTAV I'll wait until it is cheap.

Depending on what you disliked about Abyss (characters are a common complaint) you might still like either game. Lots of people like and dislike different Tales. I'd mainly recommend Xillia though if you want a more likable story and cast.
