Does anybody know if these things exist?
I've had a look online but I can't see any mention of one. It's just a bit awkward at the moment us to use ours and it would just be nice to be able to leave it plugged in on on top of the TV.
I'm in the same boat. I could do with another few feet!
Seems Sony went with a custom connector, tweet Yoshida.
I have been looking for the same to no avail. I need a good 5m more to get from rack to front of room. I use a projector you see.
It is meant to be based on USB3 and some folks have managed to swap the connector over to a standard USB one to get it self identifying & recognised on a PC.
People have also tried splicing in powered and unpowered USB3 extenders with no real success. The camera is kind of detected but does not work - in both the dedicated rear port and more general front ports.
So things are not good and the hardware hackers experiments continue. Someone will sort things out if Sony does not deliver the goods.

I'd hope there was an official extension lead on the way shortly, Sony seem to be licensing PS4 accessories out to third parties so hopefully somebody will pick it up. I love the camera but it's been in the box after the first day because it's awkward setting it up at the moment, I'd be happy to leave it plugged in permanently and in front of the TV.
Isn't it just a usb-A connector?
How many meters is the cable on the camera exactly? I'm afraid it can't reach here too.
This is keeping me from a purchase as well. We've got the TV hung on the wall and the rest of the AV components have been relocated about 10 ft away.
