I pre-ordered my PS4 from them and recieved it on Saturday rather than Friday, which isn't a big deal.
The big deal with that the price I had for my order was listed as £308 something, because they had let me apply a voucher to it when it was first announced. Come shipping, they take £350 out of my account.
I complain and am hit with "electronics and pre-orders can't be discounted under our terms and conditions" and I made the point that, wholly, that's irrelevent, because they took the money from my account and didn't update me before they did.
Overall, they refused to do anything about it and apart from telling me I could return it and get my money back.
So, yeah.

That's pretty shitty. Trading-standards that sucka!
Not sure where you're based but I'm on the west coast of the USOriginally Posted by Replicant
Lucky you. I do and it's nerve-wrecking everytime I receive one packaged in their flimsy tiny cardboard box. And then there's the likelihood that the package never arrived at all, like my Castlevania steelbook. I dread having to deal with their customer service for this.
My dark soul steels got shipped to me in bubble mailers, no box at all :(
Luckily 2 out of 4 made it to me safely (I ordered multiple because I knew Zavvi would eff it up)
Although I did get my Castlevania steels all right in the little cardboard boxes. Better than the damn bubble mailers
Hope things work out ok with your Castlevania steel
Not familiar with them, but they remind me of this guy, so they must be bad!
edit- though I just noticed that this is a UK shop
Holy shit I got Mario 3D World in less than 1 week (cost me just 46 euro).
In the past it usually took 3-4 weeks...
And who exactly are they forcing to buy anything?
Actually does not seem to me such a BAD deal.
So, Zavvi - adios.
The reality of supply and demand.
That said never had any issues buying games and blu-rays from them shipped to Australia,
Made tons of orders and always received items fast and much cheaper than I can buy here.
Then they do a cheap game and my morals go out of the window
I'm that kind of consumer that buy games mostly 6 months or a year after the game is released though.
Same here, bought a couple of games from their uk ebay store actions.Originally Posted by Indrid Cold1
Just to chime in on your thread backfire, I've had some real bargains from them in the past (thanks to the guys in Cheap Arse Gaffer Euro). Never even had a problem with their famously lackadaisical shipping.
Shipping was fast too within two days kinda surprised to the netherlands.
Ordered Tearaway for £20 and got a Vita/Tearaway/16GB card and LittleBigPlanet.
But yeah, I can understand why you may want to look somewhere else in these situations (important preorders, etc)
Ordered my Xbone from them on the day of the announce, when my bank card expired and I was issued a new one I emailed them to ask if I could update my payment details (I thought it weird there was no way to do this through the site), they emailed back to say that they did not allow order details to be updated "for security" (how adding another payment card is a security risk is a mystery to me), they then cancelled my order.
Luckily I had a back-up pre-order, but this is just amateur stuff from an online retailer.
Gameplay = GAME (or it was since they've consolidated all the webshops into GAME now).Originally Posted by thesaint08

Both companies tell numerous lies.
I was gutted when Zavvi got 99% of the Blu Ray steelbook market, but I have saved a lot of money.
Plus the customer service is atrocious in my opinion. It took them ages to reply in the message center, and with an uninformative canned response. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Amazon's excellent dispatch/customer service. I'm a fan of Amazon's instant chat support.
prices are good, but when you're in a hurry just go to a physical shop or amazon prime
Their stuff sometimes takes very long to arrive (five weeks once or twice, i think) and the game boxes are sometimes dented or have small cracks. But they're very cheap and they included the Dragon's Crown preorder artbook when it seemed like no retailer over here in the Netherlands was going to have it.
That said, their customer service can be really really poor at times. So when it goes wrong it really goes wrong.
One time my X-com didn't show up, so i asked for a replacement. They supposedly sent one, but the tracking looked very fishy. Then when nothing showed up they were like "40 days have passed since your order. We're not replacing anything. Bye!".
It ended well after sending a whole bunch of angry mails, but still.
Don't they sometimes ship from Chicago now since the LVCR from the Jersey Islands got stopped?Originally Posted by Chairmanchuck
I guess problems with Zavvi are, that they sometimes ship from the Jersey Islands or something like that, while you think they ship from England, and so you have to pay customs.
Did you not read the OP at all?Also... hey, OP. Did you see that the bundle also includes a PlayStation Vita?
Actually does not seem to me such a BAD deal.
He knows it includes a Vita and is angry at Zavvi for increasing the price at the last minute.Originally Posted by zomgbbqftw

This is what you get for your money:
PS4, PS Vita (WiFi and 3G Enabled), Extra Dual Shock 4 controller, Killzone Shadow Fall, NBA 2014, Just Dance 2014 & £25 Playstation Network Card
Notice they raised the price from £629.99 for the bundle to £719.99 and it includes two games that no one wants (NBA 2014, Just Dance).
Fuck forcing people to buy shit games in order to get the console and while I love the Vita myself, including it to shift dead stock (3G unit) is not fair on the consumer.
Horrible company.
Yeah, it seems like they'll try anything possible to avoid VAT:Originally Posted by MikeHattsu

My last order still came from the Jersey Islands last month IIRC.Originally Posted by MikeHattsu

The problem though is, if you order you dont really know if they ship directly from england (no custom-tax) or from somewhere else outside the EU.
Problem solved.
Though I've ordered one thing from memory, which was the Resident Evil Revelations Circle Pad Pro bundle, which got here on launch, so I have nothing bad to say about them really.
I just hear they're slow for delivery and can be bad for customer service.
Hm... Weird it's cheaper to ship things to the US and back than paying VAT.Yeah, it seems like they'll try anything possible to avoid VAT:

Yeah. That's bad. I only order stuff that's below the VAT limit here. The charge the postal service takes for customs processing is horrid.Originally Posted by Chairmanchuck
