So I was on Reddit when I saw this: Assassin's Creed Asian Setting. Blew me away and immediately I was thinking of all the possibilities. This would definitely be my first choice for a new assassin's creed game, with the next having been pirates (but we already got that).

So Gaf, where and when do you want to the next Assassin's Creed game to take place?

It will be in France.

History buffs: any periods of Russian history with good potential?

Any time period in China. China has been host to so many amazing developments and discoveries in human history that it would be a shame not to have a game set there. Feudal Japan would be acceptable as well.

The ACIV meta-game outside the Animus has a ton of speculation on this, it's super fun.

They do mention Feudal Japan and Egypt, by the way.

There's even a joke about "Pirates, Ninjas and Zombies", and how they don't see how zombies is feasible, but there's definitely something to be done about ninjas.

Ancient Egypt, Ancient Egypt, and Ancient Egypt. I don't care if they re brand the POP reboot as AC, just need Ancient Egypt.

I wish they wold go back to medieval times, like the first one.

Lets put it this way, I hate asscreed and have since I beat 2, can't play it anymore for the life of me, but if that was the setting I would actually buy it, like day 1.

India during time of British colonization with massive Victorian era architecture going up next to centuries old temples and jungles.

Japan, preferably before Meiji restoration period.

China would be amazing as well. Could take what they learned from AC3 forest game play and take it further. Maybe a Hong Kong setting could work too.

French Revolution, Russian Revolution or Glorious Revolution(could do ship stuff here). But they already blew their revolution wad with terrible AC3

I would like to see Ming or Qing dynasty China or Japan, I can't really see it happening though. Maybe some day.

I think they've said they don't want to do asian settings because they feel it would be really boring.

These are kinda old but still really well done drawings. But it'll be wasted since I know they won't change the combat system and they'll never use the full potential of the setting. With the exception of Italy, every location AC have been through been a wasted potential. They could have done a lot more than going through a checklist of historical events in America/ Caribbean settings in the past two games. But I guess that's the price you'd pay when you annualize a franchise like Assassin's Creed.

Next week... in game magazines...

Isn't egypt practically confirmed by now? If not next year's game then probably the one after, depending how far along they are with it by now.

DO WHAT YOU WANT CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE

Japan, China, India, or more Latin-america. So many possibilities for a great game.

If Black Flags does well, there could be an "expansion" like brotherhood and add more caribbean islands or other latin-american countries.

Ancient Egypt would be absolutely amazing.

A Chinese setting would be a much better setting than a Japanese one. I honestly get a little frustrated because every time this question comes up feudal Japan is the number 1 suggestion.

We've gotten plenty of games based on different eras Japanese history before, but how many non-Romance of the three kingdoms Chinese set games have we gotten? Very few.

Medieval or Early Modern China let's go go go!

I thought that was a joke about ZombiU selling badly due to WiiU.

Oh YES! Japan or Eqypt would be so friggin awesome! The thought of Assassin Ninjas throwing shurikens shaped like the Assassin's symbol would be amazing! I gotta admit AC4BlackFlag has rebewed my love for this series!

This. I want them to split the series off and continue as Pirates Creed. It's the best setting these games have ever had.

China and Egypt are both hinted at in AC4, I'd like to see either of those or Japan.

I would love to see the next one take place in ancient China. They already have Shao Jun as the main character.....
