Egypt/North Africa, Feudal Japan were mentioned and those are two of the most exciting to me, particularly Egypt
I miss the ancient settings. I really like the idea of retconning history with the ancients, Apple of Eden and other objects. You could do a lot of cool stuff with the pyramids storywise.

but more seriously, I'd love Russia or England. The Victorian period as you said would be so full of cues. Sherlock Holmes a former Assassin, now mentor of Nigel Redgrave, the fastest tea drinker in town
Or a 1940s mafia hitman kinda thing. Because the world needs more mafia games.
If I didn't remember all that shit with Juno and the Precusors and AC3's ending, the Observatory and other creepy plot twists in Black Flag would have been even cooler. Them explaining the mysteries in ACB, ACR, and AC3 wasn't done well.As someone mentioned, there's an Animus portion in AC4 which talks about the future projects.

Now we're getting somewhere.Red Dead CREEDemption?
oh yeah!
Still want them to do Japan though.
Aside from that though, I've thought of another setting that I haven't seen mentioned and could be kind of weird: Basically, the exact same area as Black Flag, but in the 1950's, specifically Havana and Miami. In my mind the assassin would simultaneously deal with mafia families, the Cuban government, and Castro's guerrillas. Later on further expand it to other conflicts going on throughout Central and South America in the mid 20th century. If you're pulling Desmond back in then the assassin would most likely be one of his grandparents.
Alternatively, the revolutions that occurred throughout Latin America following the American Revolution.
I really wanted one that would take place in feudal Japan though.
My other pick would be the Caribbean and Central America during the era of the Conquistadors. Lots of great history there, silver and gold trains to hijack, and interesting architectural settings.
I'd be less interested in the French Revolution, the mob era 20's, or Egypt, but I'd still probably play. Japan, however, does not excite me in the least.
Edit: I'd also have an interest in the British Isles during the Roman occupation. Plenty of great history and room for great alternate history using an assassin to explain why the Romans REALLY left Britannia...
Put me down as another who would love Egypt.
Pretty much exactly for me too.Originally Posted by EightBitNate

I'd love Egypt though. Tomb raiding, journeying down the Nile, farming, fishing, trading with the the middle east, the side quests and distractions are endless.
The cities would probably suck so bad though. They called it the frontier for a reason :( I would prefer something in Asia but I have never hated an AC game and I completely trust them so anything is good to me.Originally Posted by EightBitNate
actually, after seeing this, I definitely want Wild West
Django Unchained inspired
Samurai are much more interesting considering their social status. The political drama that they went through on a regular basis is very Assassin's Creed. Also, they are romanticized to death in the media. Bringing these guys down to earth would be awesome. That idea sounds good to me. Could see a slick transition into being a 'ninja' of sorts.
In all seriousness, I don't get the whole "US History sucks/is tired" stuff. There are very few games that have touched on what ACIII hit on and even less that have covered the Civil War. While I'd like for a franchise that is a bit more competent in the gameplay department to utilize the settings, there's no reason AC should ignore them.
Yah. Those two in particular would be amazing. As someone mentioned, there's an Animus portion in AC4 which talks about the future projects.

Yeah, it'd have to be like AC3 and have lots of nature. Canyons, mountains, deserts, etc. Could also have large plantations lower south and stuff. You'd really have to stretch, but I'm sure you could get there. The cities would probably suck so bad though. Because the historical cities absolutely do suck compared to the other stuff that was around at the time and because some of the most interesting periods like the mafia era, the Civil War and the wild west would turn the game into a third person shooter. I'm American and live in the States and would like something different given they already ticked the america box in ac3.Right before the Civil War. You play as a slave. BOOM.

It's not that American history sucks, it doesn't, but it doesn't suite the series.Right before the Civil War. You play as a slave. BOOM.

I'm ok with anyplace in Asia though :p
I'd love to see something really unique like playing as a citizen of Carthage at the end of the Punic Wars.
Nothing really grounded in reality. That's not the point though. During the comic con panel they said they never said they wouldn't and in fact the guy said he thought the shogunate would be really interesting.I believe it was stated that it was because they didn't want to explore things other people had explored. People have DONE ninja action/stealth games before.
I hope they do it eventually. They've explored a lot of other parts of history already. They will eventually run out and have to use China/Japan. It's a natural fit anyway, and even though a lot of Japanese games have been set in feudal Japan, none of them have been open world/platforming like Assassin's Creed (as far as I know, anyway).Nothing really grounded in reality. Certainly not, only because he has his life detailed in a book and a bulk of it is what we've gone through in ACIII.According to this interview they're focusing on the Kenway family so I guess Haytham maybe the next protag.
They know who's better. ;)Originally Posted by Smiles and Cries

Why not Ninjas?
But Japan would be awesome. The buildings.. Ninjas.. Samurai... Ronins.. And Seriously they could make the landscape look so amazing. I'm thinking the game Tenchu mixed with AC on a grander scale and basically being better LOL
1. Eden (Probably wont happen, as it would answer too many questions)
2. Roman Empire 40~BC (Which would include Egypt) Time of Caesar and Cleopatra
3. Three Kingdoms period of China. (Likely wont happen because of Dynasty Warriors)
Amen to that. It would also make the game a Tps of which we have more than enough. For me the best Assassin's Creed games have had fantastic cities because of for the traversal/parkour mechanic. Even the cities in 4 were far better than Boston and New York from 3.Originally Posted by B_Spooky13
Am I the only one that doesn't like the Wild West idea? I mean think of RDR... One big town with some little towns but there's nothing between. It's desert. The whole point of AC is the running across buildings and hiding in crowds. I mean AC3 was boring and had tons of trees to run on. So I assume a Wild West AC would be like AC3 without trees and with sand and different clothing.
