Add in a few screenshots, maybe.1 minute video. some concept art and character reveal.
Original sound tracks from the past tales series will also be used, too. :)
Dare I guess that they shouldn't have gone any more elaborate than "Adol washes up on shore, winsome lass points him at some monsters, ACTION"?The thought is depressing yes...
EDIT: DAMMIT!
I do think it'll be better than what I've experienced of Celceta's story, yes. lol
But if it were like that, it would fit more for an escort title, though.IMO, the 20th Anniversary of Tales should be something like the main characters of the new game visiting their past predecessors from Tales of Phantasia, to this upcoming Tales game to learn about each of the party's adventures, & what each of the past adventurers went through in order for the new team to overcome their villains (obviously for 2015).

Still, that is really far from the level of trolling we saw in the Atlus Persona 5 announcement. That day people lost hope in humanity, started a shit storm and were ready for suicide until that 55.55 countdown started.
If CC2 is in charge of the game, give it to me! I'm one of those weirdos that really like Naruto UNS series. Just let me use Yuri and spam Dragon Swarm.Originally Posted by Wynnebeck

Do you think we could see this game in Spring (February-May) 2015 in the West? They're saying they want to shorten the period between Japan and West releases. If they are making the game with a localization in mind, it should be easier and faster to do it.
At least we'll know what game they're announcing soon.
I'm not expecting a game of a much larger scope than Tales of Xillia. Tales doesn't seem to get the budget that some of the other Namco franchises get. I also expect the game to be exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
Which is fine, Namco have been giving the PlayStation 3 quite and impressive library.
I expect the next title to be a PlayStation 4 game. There's nothing wrong with supporting last generation systems a few years after the next generation launch.
I certainly hope so. At least, I'm hoping it'll at least be a shorter wait than what we had for Xillia and Xillia 2. I certainly did miss the short time frame between the JP and US/EU releases they did for Vesperia.Do you think we could see this game in Spring (February-May) 2015 in the West? Forget CC2, other than making cool single player for the Naruto games and their games looking pretty, mechanics wise they're pretty shallow. If CC2 is in charge of the game, give it to me! I'm one of those weirdos that really like Naruto UNS series. Just let me use Yuri and spam Dragon Swarm.
Give it to the Soul Calibur team or something, still baffled they let them work on Legendia and not VS.
Honestly all I want is the anniversary game to not feel rushed. And for the love of god, I know they said they only planned on using ufotable for Xillia 2, but they should keep using them.
featuring Modern Cress and Classic Cress
I don't know. This being a 20th anniversary title I don't expect it to come out before 2015. That again likely means that during the merger/absorption there was no other major Tales project besides Xillia 1/2 (the last time that happened was ToP PS1 in 1998). Which again makes it possible that with this game they are actually starting with a clean slate (which can mean anything really, both design and staff wise).Originally Posted by HolyBaikal

Looking at the staff listings I never saw anyone who actually worked on both Soul Calibur and Legendia. Probably was only marketing talk.Give it to the Soul Calibur team or something, still baffled they let them work on Legendia and not VS.
Any idea what it says?Site apparently also updates every 12 midnight Japan time. The book just opened.
Also Hideo Baba actually talked about the 20th anniversary title in 2012.
I wonder what they'll bring new to the table. When he was asked "Is work on the next Tales title already being done?" he raised the "Yes" sign in response. He comments, "In maintaining the flow of releasing one game after another, we always consider the concept of the title next in line." I'm not entirely sure if he's just referring to Tales of Hearts R, but most probably it's a different title.
He further mentions: "In fact, we've been thinking beneath the surface for the 20th anniversary title."
He also mentions that, aside from the 20th anniversary title, they are also thinking of other various ways to develop the series in general.
This is a really rough translation, it's kind of hard to translate for me:Any idea what it says?
「The Legend of the Priest」
"In the far off mythical era, when the world was to be covered in darkness,
one appeared from somewhere and reclaimed the light."
Notes:
- The word 導師 (doushi) can mean either priest/monk, or basically a spiritual leader.
- The sentence also isn't complete. As they reveal more words, perhaps the message will make more sense. I'm not even sure if this is in the first person or not.
- Also this translation may not be 100% accurate until they reveal more words.
Oh so they're revealing story stuff? OK.This is a really rough translation, it's kind of hard to translate for me:

Tales of iDOLM@STER All Night
Tales of Vs 2 Electric Boogaloo
Tales of Zesteria

Bookmark me.
It might have also been that I just finished Ni no Kuni, but Xillia just didn't look as good to me.
I just couldn't get over how good it looked when it first came out.
Should kinda work without having to know more:This is a really rough translation, it's kind of hard to translate for me:

"In a distant, mythical era in which the world is covered in darkness, there was a sign (phenomenon, manefestation) whence restored the light."
Probably just a typical RPG background/statement that the world was ruled by dark forces or was just some chaotic entity until things happen (probably the appearance of a god/goddess) that caused balance to be restored or a "proper" world to be formed.
I wouldn't mind having a spellcasting main character. That'll be pretty interesting. This is a really rough translation, it's kind of hard to translate for me:

Also, if Namco is going to try and copy Atlus's announcements look forward to:
- Tales of VS: Wallbreaker
- Tales of Twin Braves: XL
- Tales of Phantasia Full Voiced 3D Version
- Tales of Zesteria
FFXII style overworlds are great, but they're almost never done right. They certainly weren't in Xillia or Graces.
Possibly I am the only one saying this..
Abyss? You shoot low mang lol.I hope they go back to the art style of Abyss & Vesperia instead of Graces & Xillia. Vesperia, IMO, is on par with the Naruto games as far as the visuals closely resembling anime as possible.
It might have also been that I just finished Ni no Kuni, but Xillia just didn't look as good to me.
Vesperia was pretty much an improvement on Symphonia style but add the hair details now and it might look cool. Then again looking how some hairs look on Xillia it might be better to keep it simple just with Vesperia style.
There was an interview where Baba said that they finally found where their fanbase was at and it was the Sony systems. They might work on other systems for games but the main focus seems Sony consoles thanks to the sales.Originally Posted by PseudoKirby
and why is that? Vesperias existance didnt signify the lack of Tales games on other platforms..
To be frank they think any other other console than the PS3 ( and PS4 later on ) for the mainline games is a waste of time, money and resources. Don't forget it's a game aimed at Japanese market, Vesperia happend due to MS moneyhat.Originally Posted by PseudoKirby

If I remember right Namdai claimed there was most probably a translation error or miscommunication on that interview, but I can't remember if it's about the Sony systems thing or if it's about the PS4 thing?Originally Posted by Gravelord_Nito

Whichever the case, I personally don't think they consider going multiplat as a worthwhile investment. And I personally don't think they're already jumping to next-gen. But again, that's a personal opinion.
