To be fair, that's exactly what they did at E3. I just don't understand how it might not be ready for 2014. What have they been doing all this time?Originally Posted by UltraGunner
Fucking hell Squeenix, I was in 7th grade when XV (or rather Versus XIII) was announced, now I'm two years from graduating College. I'm remember reading it in a magazine that's been out of circulation since my 9th grade year. By the time this game actually comes out, I'll be promoted to a senior position at job and lining up various retirement plans. I'm not asking for a full blown trailer, but at least acknowledge it's existence.
I've pretty much conditioned myself to act as if this these don't exist until they actually release
They didn't start full development until mid 2011, moved to next-gen sometime in 2012 and they just don't want to do a half-assed job (i.e. treating FFXV like it's a cross-gen game, but to take full advatage of next-gen hardware)To be fair, that's exactly what they did at E3. I just don't understand how it might not be ready for 2014. What have they been doing all this time?
It's my understanding that the XV team his basically in charge of helping out the other teams when they need extra hands. It can't be easy to make a game when your team is tied up elsewhere. To be fair, that's exactly what they did at E3. I just don't understand how it might not be ready for 2014. What the point of this? It will lead to nothing like always. This game is late 2015 at the earliest and it seems like XIII engine/delay debale all over again.I've not lost hope completely. FFVsXIII was at Jump Festa a couple of times even if it wasn't officially announced to be there and they did show the slightly revamped FFXV trailer at TGS even though it wasn't listed either. So... maybe a new trailer with 95% the old footage & some glimpses of new stuff.
Well the game will be in your hands when you graduate than :P.Originally Posted by UltraGunner

Wouldn't look into it much there was some voice acting for Versus already albeit Japanese one but it was still early. This could just mean there getting the Voice actors early for trailers and stuff and try to get this sorted out for faster localization due to slow development of the game.I'm hoping it'll be ready for next winter.
One voice actor has already been confirmed for the english localization, so that's a good sign.

Lol, fuck off Square.
That release calendar was definitely amazing. VI was 1994 and X-2 was 2003. Still, pretty tight decade. Fast-forward to now....oh man.Originally Posted by TalentBurke

Jump Festa ain't a big enough event. What they meant to say was E3 only. So instead of info every few years they will be more frequent every year instead.Originally Posted by KeasbyKnight

Lol, fuck off Square.
They haven't lied. They just didn't spell it out in plain english.
I AM surprised however they aren't selling any wall scrolls this time in the SE goods section.
Give us some info? Some screenshots? Fucking anything. I'm used to being disappointed by SE nowadays, but this is pushing me over the limit.

As for KH III? Well, yea that game will be in development hell. I'll be suprised if it even comes out.
FFXV is so close, yet so far.
KH3 doesn't feel real, since it's so far from release.
Good GODFF6 iOS will be there, not sure how I feel about it...

IT LOOKS WORSE than the original GAME
Why not just port the GBA version?
I actually dont mind the HD backgrounds but WTF at the sprites
Nah, KH3 is the Osaka team. It'll release in a decent timeframe. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually ended up being first to release.FFXV won't be released until 2016 at the earliest, that's if there are no setbacks.

I'm not even mad.
It's nothing like that and I've detailed the numerous reasons why in the past. They've actually got a playable build with tons of content done already and the engine is near-finished instead of being in very early stages, so they are actually developing the game and its content instead of fighting with engine problems. What the point of this? It will lead to nothing like always. This game is late 2015 at the earliest and it seems like XIII engine/delay debale all over again.
And no, this won't be a late 2015 game. That would mean Square Enix Japan has absolutely nothing new for consoles apart from a couple of HD collections for the next 2 years. If they have to, they'll do what they did with FFXIV 2.0 and halt the development of other games to bring more workforce to push XV out as soon as possible. I maintain my estimate that this will be out by the end of March 2015 with a full possibility of a November or December 2014 release.

Square Enix can't even finish an HD collection in under three years. I'm confused, that's how I remember FF VI looking.

FFVI was made of pixelated sprites, those are high-res graphics trying to imitate the pixelated style. Makes no sense, and most of the times is ugly as hell; they should have just remade the game like they did with III and IV on DS. Here everything looks clean-cut, generic, cheap and washed out.

May as well say the entire video game industry is moving towards portable as the focus.
I wouldn't go that far yet, look to the PS4/Xbox One for how relevant consoles still are.Best to just accept that S-E's profits come from portable games and that's the area that will get the most focus.

Squeenix on the other hand...
Nomura needs to hurry up with this. Lightning Returns Who Asked For Her Back is out of the way, X/X-2 and XIV are fixed. It should be all hands on deck with FF15.
Have faith?Have faith.
How can I have faith when I know that TWEWY 2 existed at one point and it was probably canceled!?? How can I have faith knowing that we might not get another Dissidia? Or that Final Fantasy Type-Zero never made it out of Japan?
I can't trust square enix anymore man :c
I just hope we get FF XV or KH 3 in 2015 lol

They could still make a TWEWY2. The first one was moderately successful and there hasn't yet been any mega-bombah sequels that would make SQEX abandon the franchise completely. It might be on hiatus, but I don't think it's completely dead like Chrono or Mana at the moment. TWEWY is a favorite of Nomura's (it's the first SQEX franchise outside of Final Fantasy to be included in Kingdom Hearts), when he'll have the time he'll put up a team and make TWEWY2 happen. I mean, come on, they made Drakengard III, TWEWY2 would be much more successful (and probably cheaper if they stayed with the 2d style). I'm almost 100% certain TWEWY2 will happen one way or the other, sooner or later. Nomura is just busy with two huge projects (one hopefully getting closer to its finish line and the other is early still) at the moment.Originally Posted by YoungBlade

That's not because of some corporate decisions. The key people behind the franchise decided that Dissidia 012 would be it for the Dissidia franchise, at least in its current form. They were somewhat successful as well, so I don't think some kind of Dissidia revival sometime in the future is completely out of the picture.Originally Posted by YoungBlade

It might still be happening. They just made a bad decision to make it a PSP game at a time when piracy had completely ruined the platform and it was all but officially dead in the west. Hopefully Sony's game request campaign showed enough interest for Type-0 and they are working on how to bring it outside Japan. I've been thinking maybe they'd actually make a FFXII IZJS | Type-0 HD Collection for PS3/Vita, if X | X-2 HD does well enough. We know that due to SCEA's (& SCEE?) horrible practices, singular HD remasters can't get a physical retail release in North America (and thus Europe) and Type-0 would be a bit too big a game to only get a digital PSP release (that could be played on Vita), so they could perhaps work it out that way.Originally Posted by YoungBlade

It's kinda silly to compare HD collections' development to their next headliner like FFXV. The development team's size for a HD collection is nowhere near the size a new mainline release gets. It's a relatively small team chipping away slowly and they'll release the collections when they are done. Also, what on Earth are you babbling about some 3+ year development time for a HD collection? FFX | X-2's is less than two years (it was announced a little over 2 years ago, but they've only been working on it after XIII-2 was done, from Spring 2012 onwards) and I think KH1.5 was done in something like 1,5 years (give or take a couple of months).Square Enix can't even finish an HD collection in under three years. No way this game will be out before the end of 2015 ;-;
Really Square Enix? Really?
