In the long run, there is far more potential and far more power to be had in controlling the outcome of AI.

Well if any corporation had the money and balls to fund something like this, it's Google.

Soon the only job left will be Robot Repairperson. And then they'll invent a robot that repairs robots. And then the human purge will be initiated.

I would have to agree. Whoever wins the race to true AI lays down the next paradigm shift for humanity. Every field of study will be turned onto its head, from philosophy to finance to music.

that's the trouble though. can you imagine the shift in economy that would be needed? Imagine if a 30 hour work week became the new 'working hard' but how would people be paid? what if instead of 'a few jobs lost to robots' became '40% of low skilled jobs now lost to robots'

what would happen? How would economy deal? some kind of work rotation would have to happen. Evil socialist europe would probably handle this a lot better than bootstraps america.

Well they better hurry the fuck up, not much time left to build a time machine and send the terminator back.

Anyways this sounds more like building robots to manufacture so companies don't need to go to china than building us a personal butler bot. Someday though folks. Some day.

You don't even need a real pizza. It can be injected straight into your imagination. Sexual pleasure likewise.

What I'm getting from all this robot news is that we're all fucked. I'm half serious.
