Frontier - a shitty game few who actually care about the MH series think twice about (partly because it'll never come to the west), but tends to confuse those unfamiliar with the series into thinking it's a mainline game.
Monster Hunter 'collaborations' - every MH game in recent memory has had crossovers in the form of extra weapons/armor, few or none of which ever come to NA/EU intact due to licensing. And yet people still get worked up whenever there's an announcement.

This thread, despite the disappointment that arose when I actually opened it, did get me thinking how awesome a real combination of the two genres would be.
He also used the word "collaboration" which usually means more than a couple version-exclusive costumes.I'm sure everybody who got Duckrolled read the title as "Famitsu: Monster Hunter X Fire Emblem collaboration announced for Wii U" until they see the actual OP.
Why does "frontier" got excluded? It because Sammy used word "announced" which makes us instantly thought it as a new game, not costume nonsense. Sammy, you are a sly bastard aren't you :p

I expected MH x FE in the veins of the now nowhere to be found SMT x FE. I leave disappointed.

Eh... I played MHFO when the Korean version was up pretty religiously.
The DOS engine is in full effect in that game and it shows its age when stacked up to newer MH. It's fine for a while, but the grind in that game is like thousands of miles beyond the average MH game which can get pretty harsh as it is.
The way to endgame is fun, but when you realize that you need to upgrade an item nearly 8 times over using larger and larger quantities of the same drop that already has an extraordinarily bad droprate unless you get a premium bonus ticket, it gets tiring.
Still, it's MH so you know how it goes...
