they don't have a charger cord for the gamepad
OP, do you or your room mate have people over ever? Parties? Maybe a friend of a friend that you don't know very well saw it and took it, or told their thief friend about it.
Secondly, I sincerely hope the thief thought he was stealing a PS4, given that only the console and NBA 2K14 were gone. "Hmm, don't recognise this console...MUST BE A PS4!!!! JACKPOT!!!!".
Rather than just taking a couple of items, alot (atleast here in the UK) will stash the goods nearby in something like a wheely bin and comeback for it later.Originally Posted by Saganator
They didn't take your TV or more because it was too much for them to handle in a timely manner. Thieves usually grab whatever will fit in a bag as quickly as possible and go. It really isn't that strange so don't read too much into it. The most you can deduct is they probably used a bag of some sort, were in and out, and they likely didn't have help. Some drug dealer is playing your Wii U while the guy who took it is high as a kite.
I'd recommend to check the bins of nearby houses as soon as you discover a breaking in.
Best of luck to you OP, getting robbed fucking sucks, it made me feel super weird, like violated in a way I never would've thought.
... the only caveat: they must be the same SKU. If you had a Basic and bought a Deluxe to replace it, no dice. And vice-versa.
I don't know if this caveat has changed, as it's been months since I called, but that's it.
Weird, I had a GBA stolen from me, too. I was at summer camp and I guess one of the farm kids (we called them the children of the corn) outside of the camp apparently broke in and stole it, along with a bunch of games. I think it was like a year or two after I got it. Pretty big bummer.bummer, man
I had three GBAs stolen from me, it definitely bites.

Sorry OP, that sucks for you.
Hope it all gets sorted one way or the other.
Also look through your other stuff now. I'd wager whoever it was (if they'd been over before the incident) took something smaller before to test the waters.
The only gaming thing I've ever had stolen from me was my black DS Lite during an exchange of property after a breakup. I gave her back her electric keyboard and she was to give me back my DS, slammed the door in my face and called the cops on me instead. Told them it was her DS and I was being a nuisance, so I let it go. Sucks.
Hopefully Nintendo gets you straight.
Will you confront him if it turned out he had a hand in this? Will it be a bloodbath? It is quite strange. I live with 4 other people, 3 of whom are my best friends and the 4th guy is the outlier. He always has different people over and that would be my guess as to what happened. The Wii u plus like one game and a controller would easily fit into a purse or a smallish bag, and I don't think he would knowingly let one of his "friends" take it but he's not the most observant guy. And yes I mentioned this theory to the police and other roommates, we're discussing whether or not to try to kick him out but there isn't exactly a whole lot of evidence.
Nowadays if I go anywhere for more a night or more I'll bring with me my most expensive tech and hide the less important stuff around the house.
Wow maybe he did mistake it with the PS4.Originally Posted by Hot Coldman

Really fucking strange that he only took the Wii U. Even stranger that he nabbed 2k14 PS4 as well. Hopefully the police can find the bastard.
I hate dumb robbers, one asshole a while ago stole my glasses. Wtf he would do with that?!
SmokeyDave, why?!OP surely doesn't live in the UK, where robbers are reported to break into random people's houses to ditch Wii U's. Unsollicited.

Sorry OP, that sucks for you.
Love my WiiU and PS4
That's a shame - but as it is distinctly different to what was told me by Nintendo's own tech support via phone, I had to contest it. One thing, though: their policies for portable and consoles *might* be different.Originally Posted by baphomet 666
Of course i did. My 3ds was stolen, nintendo were given a police report, and they said sorry that wasn't policy.
I got up one morning and my downstairs window had been forced open and 2 things had been taken and nothing more. My Epiphone (Cherry Burst) Les Paul and Fender (Vintage yellow) Telecaster was all that was taken, not even my wallet (which was very near them) was taken which had quite a bit of cash in it.
Was gutted, the telecaster was the 1st proper guitar I ever bought - I miss her :(.
Wii U is the best console confirmed according to burglars. The TV, sound system, Wiimotes, PS3, PS3 controllers and several piles of games were left alone and only the Wii U, necessary cords, gamepad, pro controller and 2k14 for PS4 were taken. Really strange. I filed a police report yesterday (got a copy as well since I'll apparently be needing it in the future) and gave them the serial #. I've been keeping an eye on craigslist as well to see if it turns up.
On a serious note though. I hope you get your stuff back OP!
Hopefully something turns up.
Bastards lied to me.
