Edit: Ok, here is the full story since people were asking. This is Xbox One version purchased via Xbox Live
Monday night I spent two hours trying to get into a game and was only able to actually connect for around 15 minutes of that two hours. I logged onto the Xbox Support chat and asked for a refund and linked them to all the stories of the game not working. They said they could not do a refund but someone from Tier 3 support would contact me within 48 hours. 48 hours later no one had called, so I called them. I gave her my reference number, she put me on hold and 5 minutes later I had the refund. A while later I logged into my account and noticed the game was still there and I can still play. To those saying this is unethical, I did not ask to be able to keep playing the game I just asked for a refund on a broken game.
You'll need to provide more information buddy - no way in hell is EA going to make this an easily available option. And I still can play the game. Worth trying if you bought it digitally and are annoyed by the server issues.
What console? And did you make the transition to next-gen?
"If annoyed by server issues, get all your money back, then play more."
...uhm
(And he can still play it since it doesnt check for a license update. Like if you gameshare, and then take the license for yourself, a friend wont lose it)
You know I once got a refund from microsoft for an XBLA arcade game, they stated that I could still play the game, but if I did, I would be banned. Not sure how they keep track precisely though. Achievements, perhaps? And I still can play the game. Worth trying if you bought it digitally and are annoyed by the server issues.
Thats simply not true....because say someone else on your console bought it, and you playYou know I once got a refund from microsoft for an XBLA arcade game, they stated that I could still play the game, but if I did, I would be banned. Im calling that bluff by them.

But it's not down to him. Microsoft have given him free money and not deleted the game from his account.Originally Posted by GoofsterStud

It's like buying a fridge from Currys that is faulty but does lovely ice cubes, but when you try to return it they give you a full refund and tell you to keep the fridge. But I don't want the fridge. ah well, I can still make ice cubes.
Or, using another example, it's like getting a refund from Amazon.
Maybe, and I considered that. But I decided against chancing it with a threat like that.Originally Posted by Soulflarz

True.Your Xbox LIVE account says what you are playing at all times.
Continuing to play a game you complained for a refund for isn't justified.Originally Posted by richisawesome

Comet did that with our old TV. The HDMI stopped working and we called Comet to come fix/relace it. They booked an appointment and never showed. 2 days later they called saying they had no time to come check it, so they were sending a gift card of £700 (£200 more than we paid for it) to buy a new one and asked us to dispose of the broken one.
It ended up in the bedroom a freeview/Wii TV ^_^
But the very fact that he still has the game proves that Microsoft either don't give a shit, or they will delete it at a later date.Originally Posted by GoofsterStud

Either way, who is it hurting? They've effectively said "yeah it's shit. here's the money for your troubles, keep the sodding game though - we don't want it"
Oh, c'mon. If you did the same, and then noticed that it was still playable on your console, you would totally play the game. And let's face it - it's BF4. The game itself probably stopped him before he got very far.So you complained, got a full refund for your game, and you went back to play the game more?
That's...... something.
A good, but broken, game will eventually be patched into playability. A shit game will be shit forever.
I don't get this mindset at all.Poor EA we are lucky to have you calling out those scumball gamers.
The game is broken, OP got a refund. That's fine.
OP turned right around and started playing it again. That is, in essence, piracy. Yours, mine, the OP's, and anyone else's opinion of EA is irrelevant to that fact.
It's not piracy if Microsoft have let him keep the game, which they obviously have.I don't get this mindset at all.

Funny... I am usually known as the anti-EA-fanboy for commenting on their unethical practices.Poor EA we are lucky to have you calling out those scumball gamers.
Would the term exploit be more to your liking?Originally Posted by richisawesome

Seems like there's just a delay between refund & game being removed. People should like, relax.
If I were MS, I would remove the title from your DL list/disable the license IF they give you back your money for a digital title.
Until he encouraged others to take advantage of the loop hole MS left as a favor for people truly in positions like OP. SMH.
Piracy?I don't get this mindset at all.

So if you buy a burger and complain that your meal taste like dog barf (due bad cooking) and due your complain you get a new meal and refund, is that food piracy?
Honestly. Last bf ill buy, and will not touch any ea products here out. Its like they think we are fucking stupid. Not paying to alpha test shit anymore. Any dev/pub. It was a ride since 1942.I said that I don't personally want a refund, but I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone buy Battlefield 4 until they unfuck their shit. It's been a pretty gross year for EA, between this and Sim City.
Shits getting old. I value my dollars, and they are getting harder to come buy.
