Yup, children in the Lost Woods become Skull kids while adults become Stalfos like the Hero's shade in Twilight Princess. He also addresses Link as son in red letters possibly signifying he started a line before he died. So there is still time left that could be explored, but it would end or a negative note (which would be awesome).
Saying that just after ALBW and 3DWorld came out is laughable. The two best games on their respective platforms, very serious contenders as GOTY, are one more Zelda and one more Mario.Originally Posted by ComputerMKII

Saying you don't want more Zelda or more Mario is like saying you don't want more good games.
Your timeline is all kinds of fucked up, you need to look it up again.Well... direct sequels, pretty much everything but skyward sword and minish cap are sequels to OOT iirc.
Skyward Sword > The Minish Cap > Four Swords > Ocarina of time (then splits to 3 different time lines) 1st is where he fails: Wind Waker > Phantom Hour Glass > Spirit Tracks (next is where the game ends and he is sent back in time to grow up as a child) Majora's Mask > Twilight Princess > Four Swords Adventures (last is the time line where Zelda is left after she sends Link back to be a child) A link to the past > Oracle of ages/seasons > Links awakening > Legend of Zelda and finally Adventure of Link (zelda 2)
Really? TP is the only game similar to OOT. WW and MM aren't similar to OOT.Majora's Mask is the sequel to OOT, and if you wanted a more adult OOT like game, Twilight Princess was basically that.
Nintendo making OOT zelda over and over has pretty much been the big complaint with the series up to skyward sword.
It's not a LTTP situation here.
Nope, virtually perfect, just found the timeline from hyrule historia:Originally Posted by ArchedThunder

Only thing i had wrong was which timeline belonged to him failing, which is A link to the past not wind waker... though it makes more sense the other way IMO.

ALTTP Had 3 direct sequels before ALBW.Originally Posted by richisawesome

Twilight Princess was pretty much this.Of course I didn't say to reuse the exact same environment. When I said same Hyrule I meant that version/time of Hyrule conceptually. Of course they would change it or make it bigger or whatever. But there would still be a Kakariko Village, the forest people, characters etc.
I am aware that "officially" 80% of Zelda games stem from OoT with multiple timelines - but those were the only two made with a setting in the OoT timeline when released.
it is a direct sequel thoughWell, I don't think people consider that to be a direct sequel. I was talking about actually having Ocarina of Time in the title, like LttP2, ALBW, and taking place in that Hyrule, before/after/during the same storyline.
also phantom hourglass is the direct sequel of windwaker. (spirit tracks isnt though)
