It really is the best 3D I've personally seen on my TV, appears to be running at full 1080p, with at least 30FPS. It's definitely one of the most impressive things I've seen on the system.

It's definitely fully 60 fps and does look gorgeous, but I'm pretty sure it's 720p. I'm not even sure if current 3DTV's can display 1080p at 60 fps.Bought it yesterday just because it's 3D and wanted to try it. I think it's full 60FPS in 3D.
BTW, seeing how beautiful it looks makes me even more bitter about the lack of this feature in Assassins Creed 4.
Will download the demo out of curiosity to see how this looks on PS4.
So it cannot be 1080p60, it must be 720p60 in its 3D mode as the 3D on the PS4 (and PS3) is frame packing.HDMI 1.4a requires that 3D displays support the frame packing 3D format at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24, side-by-side horizontal at either 1080i50 or 1080i60, and top-and-bottom at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24.
Not sure about resolution but 3D is capped to 24fps isn't it?It's definitely fully 60 fps and does look gorgeous, but I'm pretty sure it's 720p. I'm not even sure if current 3DTV's can display 1080p at 60 fps.

It's 720p 3d which still can look beautiful. But to get 1080p 60 fps 3d... The only consumer items that can display 1080p 3d are 3d monitors as far as I'm aware. They have to have two inputs on those monitors as those specs needed to produce 1080 3d 60fps are above current HDMI standards. It's definitely fully 60 fps and does look gorgeous, but I'm pretty sure it's 720p. I'm not even sure if current 3DTV's can display 1080p at 60 fps.

You're right though, it was the first thing I bought on Saturday and it is sublime!@AlexAtkinUK You are correct, I asked around a bit more and it turns out the 3D output is 720p30 after all. The game does support 1080p60 in 3D (in fact, the game runs at 1080p60 even in 3D and the PS4 then outputs it to 720p30 due to the limitations, if I understood this correctly now). If these limitations are fixed, then the game should run at 1080p60 in 3D on hardware that supports it. So let’s hope that this would be allowed in the future and that the TV hardware starts supporting HDMI 1.4b/2.0 more!
Liked the demo overall.
same. My new passive 3D TV actually looks quite a bit better than my previous active 3D set, and I tried Trine 2 on the PS4 on both. Less crosstalk and flicker, and no nasty heavy glasses (makes a big difference for me)Originally Posted by RavenholmDX
My TV is passive too, and I think it looks great.
Personally I prefer passive to active, my parents have the new Sony W9 set and it's nice but doesn't come close to my LG960V plus the light weight of the glasses makes playing games for a long time a lot easier.same. how are the reviews for it ?
I'm interested to see if it's been resolved on PS4. Is Trine 2 cross-buy? I'll try the demo if not, but I'm not going to pay for the game when I already own it on PS3.
Honestly, the 3D in Trine 2 is the best implementation of it I've seen, in both film and game. It might be those gorgeous backgrounds and the fantastic animations, but it just looks spectacular. I didn't even bother with it for the first hour or so until someone suggested using 3D in another GAF thread, but I just can't go back now. It really does make the game better.
Not gonna buy it as I didn't fall in love with the Wii U version sadly, but I'll gladly buy a demo to see the 3D effect on the PS4. Thankfully "Inherited" a 1080p 3D TV for my room and was awaiting a PS4 game to show it off.
Will look into it when I get home.
I think it has to do with 30fps. 3D @60fps is truly the real deal, look at Stardust on Ps3. Much more solid, steady effect, little to no artifacts. Also in the latest Iwata Asks about Zelda ALBW, they talk about this and how they aimed for 60fps from the start for this reason. There was something always a bit off with 3D on PS3. Like it wasn't rendering the left and right frames at the exact same time. Puppeteer looked great when stood still, but as soon as you jumped or snipped? Ghosting out the butt on whatever was moving, like the last frame of animation was overlaid with the current one. And I think it was pretty much the case with every game I tried. Less noticeable in something like WipEout or GT, because you're basically just watching environments come towards you all the time, but MotorStorm Apocalypse, with it's rubble and people moving everywhere, was full of it. But films were always flawless.

will buy now.
Check it out too.
