Good list...Unfortunately I personally wouldn't buy the majority of those games. I mean a couple like Loco Roco and ToE look pretty fun. Everything else earns a solid "meh" at best right now.

What the hell? That's as diverse a line up as you can get.

RPGs, crazy games, stealth action, card game action, racing, sports, action/adventure, fighting games, side-scrollers, etc.

Is it because they're not made by Nintendo?

Theres definitely a few games i want on that list...not many though.

PSP needs more games like Field commander and less games like Syphon filter, by which i mean it needs more true handheld games, high on strategy low on action. Trying to play all the twitch gameplay games like pursuit force and PES on the go is a bloody nightmare.

eeeh...first...yes, it is a diverse (and nice) lineup, but no killer apps for my taste.

And sorry, but I dont expect Nintendo to release games for PSP and unfortunately I sold my GBA and didnt get a DS.

These games look very strong, but as is the problem with PSP, they are (with a few exceptions) more or less the same type of game we've see for the past few years from the PS2 (and not AAA PS2 titles at that imo).

But you know I guess its those kind of games, in their numbers, which get a system into people's hands. I am interested in the RPGs mainly because they're about the story and can be enjoyed and re-lived as stories usually are. Also being from the UK I got shafted on games like Valkyrie Profile.

Personally I want Initial D Street Stage and DJ Max more than any game in this thread, bar perhaps Valkyrie Profile.

Anyone happen to have info on Initial D? Like what the Limited Edition pack will include?

Wasnt a God of War announced too?

btw. if the Tomb Raider edition is a good port of the first one plus the new one that would be great (unless the new one turns out to be shitty again)

That isnt a problem with the PSP, its a personal preference issue you'd have to overcome - what I wanted was portable PS2 quality games with top-notch video playback and the PSP delivers that in spades.

I dunno, I just can't agree with this though I am a pretty big supporter of what Nintendo can do with Rev backwards-catalog promise.

Suikoden I & II plus BoF III would be cool to play portable, but I just don't myself buying them for some strange reason. Maybe Suikoden but still a big if there.

Loco Roco looks sweet as pie, plus I am interested in the new MGS title. I have a feeling it may detail aspects of Snake & Otacon after MGS but before MGS2. But who knows with Kojima.

The gfx detail difference between the mega man x remake and the new ghouls and ghosts is huge, it will look awesome in motion.

No, it is simply because most of the titles that are AAA on PS2 arent on that list (FF, RE, GoW, GT) and some of the AAA titles like Winning Eleven turned out to be only A or AA on PSP. That is my problem with the list.

If every game of that list turns out to meet or exceed expectations I am happy, but it might not happen.

And I never played any PS and PS2 titles, so I dont care if games are only ports, because I dont know them, but I care if they are mediocre. There is GTA:LC and some great racing games on PSP, but most other games turned out to be mostly in the 70-85% ratings, if at all.

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way trying to tell people what to like, but these are exactly the kinds of posts that are a constant in nearly every PSP thread posted, and I am simply saying that, at least hopefully, the PSP's library grows to a point where people of this opinion will finally find something satisfying to them.

The problem is for me it is too much japanese style games and not enough for my western taste. Never cared about Harvest Moon, Katamari and most japanese RPGs.

I'll be picking up a few of these.

One not listed is Capcom Classics Extended.. thats a must buy

That's just thinly veiled trolling. With a diverse list like the one listed here, there's almost no way that there isn't at least something that piques anyones interest.

Of course with some people (a very vocal minority here) if it doesn't have the Ninetendo stamp on it, it doesn't matter.

Let's hope they are! I don't get why no US release date has been posted for BoF3 and Tales of Eternia since we all know Europe is getting them...

I'm not holding my breath for Suikoden to get released here though, sadly... You'd think since English PS1 versions already exist that they could just use them and release 'em.

My biggest gripe is there isn't any AAA flagship ORIGNAL titles for the PSP(not sequels, or remakes). Sure there are original titles (mainly niche or so-so titles), but nothing that is selling systems or a number 1 reason for people to go out and buy the PSP. Once the PSP gains this all the concerns and most of the grumblings about the system will diminsh.

Based on Andy's lists so far (I get the feeling something might be missing from both... or maybe I just wish there were even *more* fun to be had on both machines)

DS - Likely to buy:
New Super Mario Bros
Metroid Prime Hunters
Rub Rabbits
Super Monkey Ball: Touch & Roll
Final Fantasy III
Brain Training
Worms

DS - Maybe buy:
Children of Mana
Tales of Tempest
Resident Evil: Deadly Silence

PSP - Likely to buy:
Loco Roco
Every Extend Extra
Me and My Katamari
Splinter Cell: Essentials
Lemmings

PSP - Maybe buy:
Exit
Practical Intelligence Quotient
Tales of Eternia
FFVII: Crisis Core

As this is the PSP version of the thread I'd qualify all of this by saying that there's a certain kind of game I want on a handheld. Loco Roco, Katamari or Super Monkey Ball embody handheld perfection for me! I'm interested in Every Extend because of the "Q?" connection, Splinter Cell looks too cool, and though I would have loved Lemmings on the NDS, its gonna be great on PSP instead.

Exit looks alright, but I have a feeling it'll wear on my patience a bit like Abe's Odysee did. Practical Intelligence reminds me a bit of Intelligent Qube on the PlayStation, which I loved. It looks like it may actually be tougher... I'm watching it closely from here on in. Tales of Eternia just depends on what I hear about the game. I enjoyed parts of other recent Tales games, but not others. FFVII: Crisis Core is a wildcard for me. I've gone off the main RPG series in a big way (I don't have the patience)... but this might promise to be different.
