EA remain at No1 this week with ‘Titanfall’ (+220%) reclaiming top spot from ‘FIFA 14’ (-1%), boosted by the launch of the Xbox 360 version.

‘Lego The Hobbit’ has to settle for a debut at No2 with FIFA 14 dropping to No3. ‘South Park: The Stick of Truth’ (+52%) jumps 4 places to No4 thanks to retailer promotions, ahead of ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ (+28%) which slips one place to No5. Easter holidays and retailer promotions will have helped kid’s titles ‘Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition’ (+35%), up from No9 to No6 and ‘Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare’ (+20%), back in the Top 10 at No8. ‘The Lego Movie Videogame’ (+7%) is the second of 4 Lego games in the Top 40 this week and a non-mover at No7. ‘Assassin’s Creed IV’ (+27%) and ‘Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ (-36%) complete the Top 10 at No’s 9 and 10 respectively.

There are new entries at No14 for Microsoft/Rare’s Xbox One ‘Kinect Sports: Rivals’ and No34 for Alternative’s ‘Don Bradman Cricket 14’, while ‘Football Manager 2014’ (+280%) is back in the chart this week at No18 thanks to the new Vita version.

Not a single Nintendo product in the top 40, not even the Lego Hobbit game. Nice to see South Park stretching those legs. I didn't think they had it in them. Keen to hear them talk about DLC.

Weird to see Skate 3 resurface. Shame that series has been buried.

Big drop for Infamous, and no surprises about the #1 this week.

I'm surprised Kinect Sports Rivals charted at all, actually. Casual game on what is a predominantly core-oriented console at this point.

Price drop to £25 seems to have stimulated demand.

Not a single Nintendo title in the top 40, yet the 3DS was the highest selling hardware last year. Huh.

Wait until they get the Vita Football Manager bundle out.
There are many people who will pay exclusively for a portable FM machine, especially cross-save compatible with the PC version.
The bundle isn't out yet?!

Man, that's pretty good news in a roundabout way.

I have mixed feelings!

I am happy to see South Park having legs and I'm sad to see Infamous not having as strong of legs as the title deserves. Still I'm sure it was a success! No surprise to see the 360 Titanfall tearing up the charts, Bluepoint did a great job.

Are there still infamous and titanfall bundles? It seems to me that titanfall's getting a nice bundle boost.

Would this even be a possibility? I doubt Sony would want to handshake with the PC. Unless FM would have it's own internal system within the game for that.

I neglected PC version so it's not 100% exact but from my maths:

1st week sales of TF X360 version = around 22-23% of 1st week sales of X1 version

Tearing up the charts may not be entirely accurate...

Titanfall Xbone version sold less than 15k last week.

So this week Titanfall is < 48K
X360 < 34k
X1 version < 14k

Still a good number for a game that saw zero advertising and has a minimal presence at retail.

I'm going to say the same thing I said last week. I don't understand how Titanfall (XBO) is so high after seeing store charts.

None of the biggest retailers have it at the top of their sales charts, yet it stays up there on the Chart Track charts :/

Usually the two are in almost perfect alignment. Without fail....... Something seems off.

Infamous has been in the top 10 for four weeks. Why is there downplaying of its sales. Titanfall has a bundle. Unless infamous became a megahit or xb1 sales cratered it was never going to stay ahead in the UK charts.

Idk maybe those stores don't count bundled software in there charts.

TF bundle is plentiful, I:SS bundle is near impossible to find right now unless you're willing to pay silly prices.

What do the store charts look like?

One includes the console bundled with Titanfall for free and the other does not.

That's to bad. Bluepoint did a fantastic job. As one of the few quality porting studios, I want to see them succeed.

It's a sales observation made in a sales thread...

What that the 3DS was the biggest selling hardware in 2013 yet doesn’t have a game in the top 40 for Week ending Apr 12 in 2014.

Whats to observe here?

I would say thats more interesting.

Are you serious? You don't find it notable that last years best selling system doesn't have a single title in the top 40?

Its been said too many times, but i hope the state of the chart today makes the Nintendo faithful open their eyes to just how much Nintendo are fucking everything up with their staggering apathy.
No game will save this situation.

I think people are well past thinking one game can turn it around.

Wii U is toast

Yeah, it's a damn shame that EA have decided to just throw it out there with absolutely no advertising.

You'd think that if the X1 and PC versions aren't doing so well, they'd want to try and make sure the 360 version at least does reasonably well.

What? It went 1 - 1 - 3 - 8 in its first 4 weeks and is still in Top 10. It's not Fifa, GTA or CoD, but "no legs" is something else.

A 68% drop in its second week which is not bad for a big release, but followed by another 55% drop in its third week is not the definition of legs.

SmokyDave

For one week. No, not really.

If that changes and becomes a regular occurence then of course.
I think it's very notable indeed. It points to a userbase that just ain't buying much software. Even the XBone version of LEGO Hobbit charted, but not the 3DS version.

That chart you posted as a rebuttal says it all. Next to the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and XBone, the 3DS is selling a tiny amount of software. I postulate that the 3DS is largely being bought for children that would rather play smartphone games.

It's not an evergreen for sure and I agree that Titanfall is doing better, but it's not like other releases you see starting out in Top 10 and then falling to the bottom of the chart next week. It'll hang around.

Well, in the last 5 top 40 (so 200 possibilities), you only had 10 occurences of games on Nintendo systems, an average of 2 by week, so it's not like this week is an incredible exception in term of probabilities.

Either Titanfall 360 sold crazy amounts or every other game did really badly. Considering the XBO version pushed only 27% of all Titanfall sales and is the second best selling software entry, I imagine Infamous is in a dire state.

As I understand these charts... that is terrible for any game.

Wait, you're serious... so wait, what number of copies are we talking here? I assumed 10th was like >5k

Eh.. not sure about 5k but I'd say less than 10k.

But the whole chart could be argued as terrible, I've seen people saying number 1 is terrible because sales are down yoy. So maybe we need a new definition of terrible.

Wait, you're serious... so wait, what number of copies are we talking here? I assumed 10th was like >5k

Numbers aren't known, but if the top spot of 34k (or thereabouts), tenth is probably between 5k-8k. (I'd so somewhere in the middle)

Not bad for a motion control game that's selling to what I assume is mostly a hardcore user-base.

Hence why the I don’t quite see why ‘the highest selling hardware of 2013’ comes into it.

The 3DS software sales are not great at the best of times which we all know but then again Jan and Feb they were up YoY which seems to mean winning.
