Games are pretty standard. Some are very good but there is no real change from current gen(okay, Live Arcade games are awesome;))
The Walmart aspect has it's advantages. Less high standards can result in more original games(less cost, less to lose, more originality). Devs also have to abide to many standards, which can take valuable devtime from other aspects of the game.

MS and sony both produce expensive hardware.

Nintendo makes everything as cheap as possible they wait with technologies untill it becomes dirty cheap and they can make a huge profit out of it: wireless controllers, touch screens , color lcd screens etc.

MS has a great subscription service while sony has a very bad online support.
Nintendo is doing great with the Wifi connection , Free but a bit to limited.

I thought the selection was horrible and all the good clothes could be found in other dept. stores. Occassionally it would freeze and I was stuck paying 12 bucks a month to pay to other customers. Also how many ps2's were shipped versus xbox 360? Im not saying there wasn't a shortage cause clearly there was a ps2 shortage, but i dont think it was as bad as the 360.

Sony shipped just over a million to NA between the end of October and the beginning of 2001. From the hardware thread it seems like Microsoft is around 850-900,000 by the end of Jan.

edit: I don't really get the Fry's analogy, as a store's customer service isn't the same as a console's online play scheme.
