I'm working on a proper writeup, but I figured I'd tell you cats that GS 2 and 3 are being localized now.

Phoenix Wright was working splendidly on a cell phone...and Capcom Mobile is going to localize GS 2 and 3 cases for the US as downloadable content.

No word on DS/GBA ports, however.

I hate you! The title got me excited but then I found out it was for cell phones. Argh!!!

It does look good though....but I don't think my cell phone is capable of doing games like that. It can do solitaire and chess though.

I guess Capcom is trying to leverage the ability to download new cases (for a fee), though is it even a matter of that not being possible on the DS? I'm not totally versed in the capabilities of DS carts, but wouldn't it be possible to write downloaded cases to them?

If not, I'd much rather see something like this on the PSP. I'm not a fan of playing games on cell phones at all, mainly due to the fact that they are designed to be used with one hand, and I find that ackward.

The only mention of Nintendo during the conference was when Tsujimoto referenced next-gen consoles.

Also, Tsujimoto is the fucking GODFATHER.

I've no doubt the 2nd game could pull a SoTC and sell decently based on the impression-hype (people generally understand it to be good, though they haven't played it etc) from the 1st game.

Now I'm probably going to have to change my cell phone service. Hoopefully somehow they'll come in an alternate format as well.

Any idea if this will be downloadable with Verizon? (I'll buy whatever cell phone I need to)

We could also ask why localize it for phones before anything else in the first place. I know the Gyakuten Saiban series started on phones, but these were GBA games to being with and it's not like cell phone games are as popular here as they are in Japan yet.

Actually this pisses me off somewhat.
I really don't care about X console getting the Y new game but Capcom did release the first of the series on the NDS, sold out every frigging copy, built a fanbase on the console and now they are (atleast for now) pimping the sequels for another platform that's actually worse for this kind of game.

Also makes me a sad man as I really like PW.

I agree. These games need to stay on the DS simply for the built userbase, and I'd love to see them also hit the PSP just to get some more sales. Plus downloadable cases would be a lock for me, because my biggest gripe with PW was the lack of replayability.

Why is everyone so worked up about the lack of Nintendo news at Capcom's conference?

We know they Capcom has just released Resident Evil for DS, along with the already released VJ Double Trouble, Phoenix Wright and MM Battle Network 5.

We also know that Capcom has MM ZX in the works from the Zero team. We also have confirmation that Capcom is working on Revolution software.

Perhaps the lack of Nintendo content at Capcom's conference has more to do with games not being far enough along in development to show (DS) or not being shown for other reasons (REV).

Why does the lack of Nintendo software have to be about Capcom saying 'Fuck You' to Nintendo? That sort of interpretation is either coming from fanboys or people who are mentally challenged. Take your pick.
