Games you're getting from now until end of 2014

Eh, I'll just list those that I'm definitely getting by the end of the year.

Dance Central Spotlight
Sunset Overdrive
Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox One, I'll get the 360 version later)
Halo: MCC
D4

I'll get plenty more 2014 releases next year.

Posted something similar in another thread so will just quote myself:
Most likely will purchase around launch:
- Metro Redux: Played a bit of 2033 on PC and enjoyed that and held off on buying Last Light on the previous gen consoles so will definitely get this once it hits.

- Destiny: Was skeptical prior to getting hands on with the game, still concerned ona few issues but enjoyed the core of what I played and hopefully the final game can build on what the Alpha/Beta offered.

- Driveclub: Me and the group of people I regularly play games with were huge Motorstorm 1 fans but the follow ups felt more and more diluted. Hoping Driveclub is a return to form, will definitely try the PS+ version first and the get the full version if it ticks the right boxes.

- Far Cry 4: Really enjoy the series when it all clicks together (weird how Ubi has stayed close to the original Far Cry while Crytek has moved further away with each Crysis title) and the setting and potential co-op madness has me very excited for this.

Still undecided whether to wait or get at launch:
- Dragon Age Inquisition: Enjoyed Origins and so far this is looking promising with it's open world and borrowed bits and pieces from Mass Effect. Could do with this delivering for my 2014 RPG needs since Witcher moved to 2015.

- Alien Isolation: Like the look and sound of this but will definitely have to wait and see/hear more about it before I decide to get it on day one. Hope its more of a adventure and exploration aspect to it then just a run and hide style title like Outlast.

- Shadow of Mordor: This one was a hard one and I'm still somewhat undecided on, comes out during crazy season so have had to limit how many titles I buy, but if Alien or Dragon Age end up faltering this is the first likely replacement.

- Lords of the Fallen: Another one that hits in October and had to be unfortunately be cut... Much like Shadow of Mordor this is one I'm keeping a eye on in case any of my intended purchases disappoint.

- Project CARS: I'm hoping we get some sort of demo for this to be honest, I love my racing games (especially online) but it's a genre that is best judged by going hands on with yourself... Also depends on how many of my friends end up getting it.

- The Crew: Big fan of Driver SF, probably the only open world racer that really worked in my opinion due to its swap in and out of any vehicle mechanic. But that seems to have gone and whats left hasn't really wow'd me. Waiting for beta to make my mind up.

- The Evil Within: Another title I was really excited for when announced and has since become less enthusiastic about as we have had a chance to see more of the gameplay, most likely a budget buy right now.

Destiny
Sunset Overdrive
Ori
Halo MCC

If Alien Isolation is good, I'll pick that up too. Hopefully for a good Cyber Monday deal.

GTA V for PS4. I think that's about it. Maybe TLOU for PS4 (I am going to get it sometime but since I'm not jonesing to play it now as I already played it once I'm waiting until I either am jonesing a lot to play it or it's gotten pretty cheap).

Oh, and Freedom Wars if it does come out this year.

Yeah, this year for me has been kind of a dull one gaming wise :(.

Day 1

GTA V
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Spelunky
Binding of Isaac

Wait a bit.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Lords of the Fallen
Dragon Age: Inquisition

Wait for reviews

Assassin's Creed: Unity
Driveclub

I'm looking like a bro gamer here but my PS3 died and I wasn't finished with GTA V, and I haven't had a decent shooter in ages and CODAW looks to be shaping up alright.

Lords of the Fallen I'm anxious for, I want a Dark Souls clone to hold me over until Bloodborne but this one could go either way.

Don't trust Ubi so waiting for reviews and I'm worried DC is gonna have a serious lack of content but we'll see.

I have money set aside for several Indie games on Wii U as well as,

WiiU

Bayo 1&2
Toad

On the fence for Hyrule warriors

PS3

On the fence for Destiny, something tells me if I wait until Black Friday or later in the year I can save $20 or more on this and see if it is really worth it.

Maybe Diablo 3 maybe.

Outside of that I am not going to buy too much new. I may keep growing my small collection by getting a 360 and any good exclusives for that machine. I sold mine a long time ago and wouldn't mind having that back. Maybe a GameCube too.

Definites I can think of for now, might hold off on a few for the Holidays

Day One -
Destiny (September 9th)
Driveclub (October 8th)
GTA 5 on PS4

If I have enough money to afford, I'll buy Xbox One with Halo MCC and Sunset Overdrive.

Diablo 3 PS4

Metro Redux PS4

Shadow of Mordor PS4

Forza Horizon 2 XBO

And that's it for now. I'll wait for reviews when it comes to Alien, Evil Within, Driveclub, AC, DA 3, Sunset and Farcry 4.

Couldn't care less about Destiny, Halo Collection, and COD.

Games I'm buying that are already out:

  • Super Mario 3d World
  • Skyward Sword

Games that still have to come out:

  • Bayonetta 2
  • Smash Bros. Wii U
  • Pillars of Eternity
  • Warlords of Draenor
Maybe Hyrule Warriors (probably not though, just think I'd get bored of it too quickly) and SMT IV.

Definites:

Pretty great rest-of-year. Probably forgetting a few games too.

Destiny and Assassins Creed Unity are the only two I know for sure I'm getting.

If Geometry Wars 3 comes out this year, then that too.

Must Buy:
-Pillars of Eternity, which I expect to be at very least a decent modern data disk for Baldur's Gate and other Infinity Engine games. And yeah, that's already enough to interest me. But there are good chances of genuine greatness.

Tentatively Interested:
- Lords of the Fallen, hoping it will live up to the quality of its obvious inspiration.
- GTA V. Well, it's the new GTA. I'm not exactly a massive fan but they always manage to entertain me.
- Wasteland. There is a mix of hope and fear about this.
- Dragon Age Inquisition. There's a lot I don't like about what they shown so far, but also a lot more that makes me think it will be at least a honest take on the usual Bioware formula.

Eventually, maybe. Not completely disinterested but we'll see
- Shadow of Mordor. Low expectations but it could turn out a little better than the "Tolkien meets Assassin's Creed" I'm expecting. Considering I really dislike AC...
- The Sims IV. Not a fan but I don't hate nor despise the concept. Make it good and I'll try it.
- Metro Redux. Didn't like what I played of the original Metro at all, but it seems they are addressing specifically a lot of what I disliked, so I'll try it at some point.
too many more to remember and list right now, probably.

All for PS4, which I'm getting with Destiny (white bundle).

-Destiny
-Alien Isolation (pending reviews)
-Resogun
-Minecraft (double dip)

That's it for now, but there are several PSN games I'm forgetting but am interested in.

Diablo 3: UEE - PS4
Infamous First Light - PS4
Minecraft - Vita
Destiny - PS3
*Maybe* Forza Horizon 2
*Maybe* Disney Infinity 2.0 for PS4
*Maybe* The Evil Within for PS4
Assassin's Creed unity - PS4
*Maybe* Sunset Overdrive for XBO
*Maybe* Assassin's Creed Rogue for PS3 or 360, whichever
Far Cry 4 for PS4
*Maybe* The Crew

My maybes depend on time and money. I also want Fable Legends but I don't know if that's this year.

AC Unity
Destiny
GTA V

I may buy 1 more since I wont be buying GTA V myself. Cant decide between Dragon Age Inquisition and WWE 2k15. I will probably get Dragon Age.

Trying to control myself with games purchases since I'm planning to buy a house in the coming year. However, there are a few that are essential to get:

Bayonetta 2
Smash for Wii U

And

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. I just don't know what system to get it for as I own neither XBone nor PS4... My old CoD-friends are on XBone but I only want to get one of the new gen consoles and Bloodborne is looking mighty tempting!

Definitely buying
Metro Redux - August 26
Forza Horizon 2 - September 30
Halo: The Master Chief Collection - November 11
DriveClub - October 7 (the PS Plus version though, so not really buying it)

Interest me but will wait for impressions:
Shadow of Mordor - September 30
Project Spark - October 7
Sunset Overdrive - October 28 (that one I'm most certainly buying though)
Assassin's Creed Unity - October 28

--

And probably some indies, but I'm not keeping track of them.

3DS: Layton VS Phoenix Wright, Theathrythm FF Curtain, Smash Bros., Pokemon Art Academy, Pokemon Alpha & Omega (both)

Wii U: Smash Bros.

Vita: Danganronpa 2.

That be it. I have the other systems but...let's just say I'm in a very picky gaming mood. That, and the Smash games will consume plenty of my free time, and that's just fine.

Day 1:

Destiny
Persona Q
Persona Ultimax
Shadow of Mordor
Smash 3ds
Smash Wii U

Debating:
Diablo 3 UUE
Metro Redux (probably wait for a price drop)
Fifa 15
Alien Isolation
AssCreed Unity

Metro 2033 Redux
SMTIV
Persona 4 Ultimax
Persona Q

Would get Tales of Xillia 2 if I had the money.

Might grab Wolfenstein and a few others during steam winter sale if the price is right.

Danny Dudekisser

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Well, as far as retail games go:

Tales of Xillia 2 CE
Diablo III Ultimate Evil (PS4)
Danganronpa 2
Hyrule Warriors
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus (maybe)
The Evil Within (PC)
Sunset Overdrive (maybe)
Akiba's Trip (PS4)
Persona Q
Bayonetta 2
Super Smash Bros for WiiU
Captain Toad
NES Remix 1+2

I think that's it. So, at most, probably 14 games. That's not too bad. The WiiU lineup is the real highlight for me this fall. Shame the 3DS has almost completely fallen by the wayside.

But the worst of it is in the next few weeks. The combination of Xillia 2, Diablo III, and Danganronpa 2 basically means that any semblance of a social life I might've had is done for a while.
