Wow, that looks kinda really shitty. The low-polygon block heads didn't really seem so apparent in the blurry hand-cam videos or the scans.
Looks great in battle and when walking around towns and stuff, but for cutscenes... Would've been nice if they just had made it 2d so it would look gorgeous like Eternia. |

If you set the video to 50% you get a very close version to how it'll actually look on the DS, and looks about a billion times better.
Seriously, don't watch it at the resolution it naturally does, blowing up DS screens/videos is ridiculous even in 2D games, its even worst in 3D. |

The character designs are ugly imo. And I wonder about camera controls (while in battle). Also, how will the Wi Fi actually work? Will there be specific missions built just for Wi Fi, or will you be able to play through levels/dungeons with other players?
Other than that, I have no complaints. I'm getting it. |

Its the best looking 3D DS game I remember. FFIII has a good competitor, but I guess the last one will look better because it isnt going to be released as soon as ToT. Wi-Fi should be local, quests with 2-4 players. Inomata designs, Sakuraba music, some websites say another Namco internal team doing this. I guess next week we should see Team Destiny's new game if they aren't the ones doing this. |

Cool, day one purchase if it comes to the US--and it had better, especially if alternate outfits and/or an unrevealed secret female character exist in the game.
Oh, and Mama Smurf isn't kidding about watching the video at 50%. I was almost in the "it should have been 2D" camp until I tried that.

Few things:
-Love the theme. That was my favorite piece of music from Tales. -Game actually moves much better than I expected from the screenshots. -Hate hate hate the character art still.

Is it somewhat weird that the PSP got the port, and the DS got the original title? There's a like a duality there!
![]() On a more serious note, I like the character art, but the main hero is probably the worst-designed RPG character... ever. What fuck the? |

In fact, after this game I'd actually like to see Namco make a DS Tales game with visuals like Rebirth (holy crap that game looked awesome). Either way though, if this game was on the PSP with untammered graphics Bebpo would probably be hailing it as the greatest handheld game ever. ![]() |

Wooooooooo, yeah, I'm on a Tales trip too, I'm just playing Phantasia GBA now, bout 38 hours in. I'm loving it I just got to the part where you get to the underwater city :O So awesome. It's like ToP's Zeal How much longer till I get the ninja girl in my party? BTW, how's Destiny 2/Eternia? I've been thinking about playing the PS version, how is it? At least, compared to ToP/ ToS. |

I think I had just under 70 hours clocked in ToP when I did it, but I did all of the extra bonus shit too. Freakin' fantastic game.
![]() I got ToE on the PSOne ages ago, but never really got into it. Now that it's on the PSP and more accessible than ever, I'm really digging it. It feels (in combat) like a very refined ToP. Fast, brutal, and surprisingly difficult, and seemingly without the game-breaking exploits of ToP. The story and characters, however, are total garbage so far. Ah well. It's pretty, got good music, and fun as hell to play. Good enough for me! ![]() Edit - You could potentially get Suzu not long from now. Getting Suzu was one of the first things I did immediately after Thor. But it's not recommended you do it that early unless Cless has got some crazy equipment and levels on him, for the part of the game you're in now. |
