Had a really casual shoot in tropical temperatures last weekend, so yeah, not everything went as expected.

Also, finally got around to hanging these up

So far quite happy with how it looks. If I like it, I'll get some more printed in the near future. :)

I don't want to spam about her but I'm pretty happy because Nintendo of America CM finally resposted a pic of Tatasenko's new Wii U Link :)

Also my twitter feed talk about World Cosplay Summit, sounds like a big deal (200k+ likes on fb) who happened this week-end in Japan. Russian team won with a couple of Zelda cosplays (Link from TP and Zero Suit Samus as regular costumes and Possessed Zelda/Magic Armor Link from TP in a performance on stage).

I'm not a specialist, I would like to ear more about this kind of events!

France was kinda badly represented, especially if Zelda cosplays won and especially with Tatasenko Mana just up there :)

It's exactly what it sounds like, an international cosplay competition hosted in Japan. Each participating country (~20 now) hosts a preliminary round at a local convention and sends the winner of that compo to Japan.

It's fun and all, but pretty biased. Japan always gets to send in 2 teams as the organizing nation, and the judging is based on... no clue. There are guidelines but often things make no sense at all. It's fun to watch though, and the participating cosplayers always seem to greatly enjoy themselves.

Early days of an international competition then. It's hard to do. Same as eSports, everyone try to do his thing in his area but can't be helped without sufficient resources. Olympics Games and FIFA World Cup took literally a century to achieve.

WCS has been around for 10+ years, it's something my wife talks about joining every year since I've known her but never bothered.
It's really strict. You only have 2 people, no helper or assist of any kind. You gonna wear the whole cosplay yourself, do the whole make up yourself. It is really hard for flashy giant cosplay since it's hard to wear/put on.
I still remember there was one year, the chinese contestant that won the china slot was only 13 and couldn't get a passport with out her parents to go with her. But WCS only pays for the contestant's traveling and they ended up dropping out.

I guess you could say that. Cosplay has always been a niche thing, even in Japan, so resources have been, and always will be, limited compared to other events.

Still, it is the biggest, and most well-known international compo I guess. More well known then Cicaf, Yamato, ECG and ECC (but since those last 2 are European only that's to be expected).

The other "big comp" is ECG - European Cosplay gathering, its happened in July in front of a live audience of 16k people.. Loki and Black widow won this year, its judged 50% costume and 50% performance;

Here is the winning performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoPYTbihV-E&index=20&list=PLo7YCZtN-2FgwAUaVCMLVUz5EQvgzsS-E

I have no love for world cosplay summit, but that stems from spending too much time being way too close to the behind the scenes mess that is any sort of attempt of cosplaying judging.

Otakon was fun. Nice change of pace since I could focus more on seeing new faces from the east coast. Will likely return next year. Time for the preview albums and some highlights!

The first girl has such a pretty face. The Jessica Nigri cosplay made me laugh.

Love the Shanoa cosplay too. She has such a cool character design... wish she had another game and more cosplays/fan arts around!

I thought the same thing, but still doubt myself.

I kind of hate myself for knowing this, but I think that's the squirtle gang from the old Pokemon show.

You are both correct.

Who is this!? I must follow her and see what else she's done.

Eve Beauregard.

Which Zaku is this?

Sniper Joe from Mega Man.

BEATEN! That MJ is somebody else, by the way.
