Everything started to come together once I ditched the wheel in favour of a controller. Using a wheel felt like I was in a pinball machine.

Did you spend the time tweaking the wheel and its ranges? I know for example my wheel has 900 degrees of rotation, but when in a game it'll often default to something like 360. It can take some time to get right, but tweaking deadzones, feedback, and sensitivites -things like that - go a long way towards making a wheel feel great.

Thanks, will be sharing some modified cams + reshade config soon. Best thing is it totally holds up 1080p60 at Max quality without any stutter on a 290.

This stage in motion is brutal, game is being called "the Dark Souls of racing games" too LOL

Sorry about the HUD and the aliasing, couldn't find a way to disable. Though it's a very old demo and not the Source version, so it's expected.
