DS Lite Australian launch date announced

I'd say if anything it might be a few days after US release, or if we're lucky enough.. the day the DS Lite launches but this is Nintendo Australia we're talking about.

Yep, it comes out on the 8th, followed by Brain Training on the 15th. :)

I was initially going to order New Super Mario Bros from Lik-sang and play it on my regular DS, expecting the DS Lite not to come out here for months. With the new release date though I will hold off on New Mario until I get my DS Lite on June 1st, NSMB demands the brighter screens. Regular DS has already been sold on ebay and DS Lite preordered and paid for in full. Roll on June 1.

Screw waiting for the Australian mario release a lot of Australian online shops and game shops in general import DS games from the states. My NSMB DS is pre purchased and hopefully ships before the 15th.

Plus imports are cheaper, why wait?

I'm with you there. I'd be really surprised if Nintendo didnt release a DS Lite + NSMB bundle. It would be the perfect way to promote the new design.

All thats left to do is sell my 5 month old Silver DS. I should be able to get over $100 on ebay so the extra $90 for the DS Lite seems worth it to me.

DS Lite + NSMB + Metroid Hunters =

Its a good time to own a DS.

In NZ if you order online, you get them on Thu... so I expect store to get them on Wed for a thu launch

Wow time has gone quick, is it DS Lite week for Australia ALREADY? I wouldn't be surprised if some retailers break street date, it is only Australia after all and this is simply updated hardware.

Was playing new super mario bros on my brother's DS Lite last night, ohhh boy does it look purdy.

I SINCERELY wish that my local Kmart will break the street date. Afterall, they have those DS Lite cases that will come as a bonus with a purchase of the Lite already in stock! So, why not sell the actual handheld earlier too?

Toy's R Us are chucking in a $20 voucher for any game if you pre-order. Then go pre-order NSMB and get a free Mario DS holder thing.

Me? I'm going for the small chance that my pathelogically half-truth friend of mine who works at a Video Store can get one for direct-sales price + bit of shipping by Thursday (ie; $170 + shipping). If that works out, I'll get NSMB for $50 through him too :P

By the way, if you're lucky you'll probably be able to find super cheap copies of Feel the Magic and Polarium around - I got 2 polariums for $5 each at TRU, and saw FTM goig for $13 at Target.

They should have switched those dates. MPH is hard to play without a DSL, the other two are just fine on "old" hardware.
