Earlier this year, a member was asked what his contribution to society was. This is our chance to answer that question. NeoGAF.com is proud to present the 1st Annual Contribute to Society Charity Drive. This year, we have chosen Get-Well Gamers Foundation as our charity. The Get-Well Gamers Foundation was founded by its president, Ryan Sharpe, in 2001. Its goal: to provide hospitalized children with video games to help them through their situations. Donations are made to hospitals all across the United States, from free clinics to privately run facilities. Click here for a complete list of participating hospitals. As gamers, there are games we've beaten, or unused consoles and handhelds gathering dust in the closet. Why not use them to make a positive influence in someone's life? Here's how you can help: |

What are you looking for in a podcast? Is it honesty, irreverence, and passionate anti-fanboy elitism? Well then maybe you have your answer. The GAFcast matches site staff with some of the forum's outspoken users to discuss games, the gaming industry, and anything in between. This week marks the first official NeoGAF Podcast, after operating unofficially for a short period. Dan Dormer, Chris Kohler, Justin Epperson, and David Coyles discuss the latest gaming news & rumors, including the dismantling of E3 and widespread vocal support for the Wii among large publishers. They also share their impressions of Dead Rising, Ultimate Ghouls & Ghosts PSP, and others. Be sure to check it out and download at the main GAFcast page, and catch the discussion over at the official forum thread. |

Since the prospect of an independent GAF became a reality in 2004, we've undergone a slow, steady restructuring. We were formerly tied to the Gaming-Age news site, and had little need for a landing page of our own, but over time this need became apparent. Now, with the birth of NeoGAF LLC and its associated properties, we've become aggressive in our desires to clean up our lingering problems in presentation and site loading speed, while also completing the community dynamic with associated relevant content. We'll be adding additional hardware in May to handle our ever-increasing traffic, we've designed a new logo to go along with our new look, and as you can see we've added a proper front page to the site. Whereas the community grew apart from our former front page over the years, eventually becoming irrelevant to most GAFers, the NeoGAF front page will offer quality content by GAFers and for GAFers, including industry and media insights by some of our famous (and infamous) members. We're a totally independent entity with no hidden agendas and no PR contacts to fondle, so we hope you'll enjoy what the front page has to offer in that regard. Besides these articles, we're also going to be running special contests and tournaments for the NeoGAF community. The community holds a large base of competitive gamers, and we aim to get you involved beginning in the very near future. All of us at the NeoGAF team hope you enjoy these new features. |
