Alright here we go again. I was short 10 games in 2014, let's see if I can do better next year.

Game 1: Saints Row 3 - PC - 8 Hours - Completed 1/2/15
Played this with an XB1 controller and I have to admit, I kind of miss the 360 controller. A bit twitchy aim.

Game 2: Call of Duty Ghosts - XB1 - 5 Hours - Completed 1/5/15
My first game with my new headphones (Sennheiser HD598). Not a great game, but the audio is pretty damn good. LSAT almost put me on my ass.

Game 3: Dead Space - PS3 - 17 Hours - Completed 1/14/15
Almost a year to the day since my last playthrough of the game. Once again playing with HD598's. Legit scared the shit out of me a few times, even though I've played through the game 4 times now.

Game 4: Dead Space 2 - PS3 - 9 Hours - Completed 1/18/15
This is a replay, but I don't remember it as clearly as Dead Space 1. I'm glad of that, because I love this game.

Game 5: Devil May Cry 3 - PS3 - 9 Hours - Completed 1/19/15
First time completed. This may go down as the last new game completed on a PS3. Now the only devil may cry game that I haven't finished is 2. I have no intention to complete 2, ever. If this was my last PS3 game, this was a fucking fantastic send off.

Game 6: Call of Duty Advanced Warfare - XB1 - 6 Hours - Completed 1/20/15
Still a fantastic game. I think I like the single player more than the multiplayer. You can see some of the quality that made Dead Space a great game in Advanced Warfare.

Game 7: Gears of War Judgment - 360 - 6 or 8 hours - Completed 1/21/15
Y'all are crazy. I loved this one.

Game 8: Gears of War - 360 - 8 hours - Completed 1/23/15
A great looking game after all these years. Raam still kinda sucks balls.

Game 9: Gears of War 2 - 360 - 12 hours - Completed 1/25/15
There are still some parts that annoy the shit out of me in this one, but it's a gears game so I still loved it. Good way to spend a snowy Saturday.

Game 10: Enslaved - 360 - 8 hours - Completed 1/26/15
As much shit as people give Ninja Theory, I have been a fan since Heavenly Sword. I like their games. This is my second playthrough, the first time was on the PS3.

Game 11: Gears of War 3 plus Aftermath - 360 - 14 hours - Completed 1/28/15
And that is that. Now the wait begins until the next Gears of War game. I was not disappointed with any gears games, including judgment, so I have full faith in black tusk, especially with Rod Fergusson in charge.

Game 12: Splinter Cell Conviction - 360 - 4 hours - Completed 1/30/15
Got over halfway through the game before it turned into a piece of shit. Calling this one complete as I have no desire to continue.

Game 13: Halo Reach - 360 - 10 hours - Completed 2/1/15
Too soon to replay the master chief games, so I am doing reach and ODST. I almost want to play Destiny now.

Game 14: Home Front - 360 - 3 hours - Completed 2/1/15
Another piece of shit game. 10 minute checkpoint, randomly died, done.

Game 15: Bioshock- 360 - 8 hours - Completed 2/3/15
Never finished this on the 360. Runs better than what I imagined.

Game 16: Call of Duty Black Ops - 360 - 5 hours - Completed 2/4/15
I've been playing all these games with my new headphones, but oh man.... this one sounded particularly amazing.

Game 17: Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - 360 - 8 hours - Completed 2/7/15
Finally finished the campaign with all of the strike force missions done.

Game 18: Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (racer only) - 360 - 15 hours - Completed 2/8/15
Credit roll from the racer side. HP is basically two games in one, but I hate the cop gameplay.

Game 19: Dark Souls - 360 - 21 hours - Completed 2/8/15
My second playthrough took less than a third of what my first playthrough took. Ornstein and Smough were much much easier this time around. I'm gonna keep coming back to finish things I didn't complete. Might go for another run at the end of the year.

Game 20: Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare - 360 - 4.5 hours - Completed 2/23/15
First time completing on 360... probably the 10th time overall.

Game 21: Sniper Elite V2 - 360 - 8ish hours - Completed 2/24/15
I still have yet to pay for this game. Got for free on PC, and now on 360.

Game 22: Dark Souls NG+ - 360 - 26 hours - Completed 3/5/15
Soloing Ornstein and Smough on NG+ may be one of my most difficult gaming achievments. No plans to move onto NG++.

Game 23: Trials Fusion - PS4 - 3 hours - Completed 3/9/15
Lost my save, so I decided to clear to the credits again. Nice and relaxing compared to Dark Souls.

Game 24: The Last of Us: Left Behind - PS4 - 3 hours - Completed 3/9/15
I sold my PS3 copy of the game within days of finishing it. This is the first chance I've had to play the DLC. I'm glad I did.

Game 25: Tomb Raider - 360 - 8 hours - Completed 3/11/15
Still a fun game to play through. Looking forward to the sequel.

Game 26: Call of Duty Ghosts - PS4 - 5 Hours - Completed 3/13/15
Nothing to really add. I play this game way too much.

Game 27: The Last of Us Remastered - PS4 - 14 Hours - Completed 3/18/15
I enjoyed this play through, gameplay-wise, a lot more than I did my first time on PS3. I may do a NG+ of the game at the end of the year.

Game 28: Bloodborne - PS4 - 40 Hours - Completed 3/18/15
The Last of Us followed by Bloodborne. Wow. You can not complain about that combo.

Game 29: Binding of Isaac Rebirth- PS4 - 5 Hours - Completed 4/6/15
Blue Baby down. I consider that the true end of the game.

Game 30: The Last of Us Remastered NG+ - PS4 - 10 Hours - Completed 4/10/15
Yeah, there's a good chance you'll see this a lot this year. Still have to play through all of the difficulties.

Game 31: Bioshock Infinite - 360 - 8 Hours - Completed 4/25/15
Third time going through. I remember the game almost perfectly from my last play through.

Game 32: Infamous: First Light - PS4 - 4 Hours - Completed 4/27/15
First game that I've used customized controls on. Sorry sucker punch, but I needed an option to change aim/fire to L1/R1.

Game 33: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - 360 - 5 Hours - Completed 5/2/15
Don't care how much this game gets trashed. I still love playing through it. My first playthrough on 360 - the rest were done on PS3/PC.

Game 34: Destiny - PS4 - 15 Hours - Completed 5/2/15
Single player story mode completed.

Game 35: Assassin's Creed Unity - PS4 - 10 Hours - Completed 5/2/15
Will not finish this game because of multiple broken systems. Combat. Combat camera. Stealth. Parkour. The list could go on and on. Even with the game running perfectly it still sucks. I don't know what happened with UBI but the AC games have been getting worse since AC2.

Game 36: Destiny - PS4 - 30 additional Hours - Completed 5/30/15
Max light level of 32 reached. No possible level upgrades.

Game 37: MGSV Ground Zeroes- PS4 - 1 Hour - Completed 6/2/15
Just a quick run through the main story.

Game 38: The Last of Us: Left Behind NG+ - PS4 - 2 Hours - Completed 6/4/15
I think I enjoyed this playthrough more than the first time.

Game 39: Grand Theft Auto 5 - PS4 - 30ish Hours - Completed 6/7/15
Man, what a fucking game. It's rare for a games sales to equal the quality of the game, but GTAV deserves the 50+ million sales it has achieved. Vice City WAS my favorite GTA up to this point, but GTAV has completely blown it out of the water.

Game 40: The Last of Us Remastered NG++ - PS4 - 10 Hours - Completed 6/19/15
Weapon achievement run. I still need to get all the artifacts and stuff.

Game 41: Bayonetta - 360 - 10 Hours - Completed 6/22/15
Well this was a long time coming. Someday I'll have to get Bayonetta 2.

Game 42: Thief - 360 - 14 Hours - Completed 6/23/15
Final boss was a pain in the ass, but I stuck with it.

Game 43: Gears of War Judgment - 360 - 6 Hours - Completed 6/30/15
Yup, another repeat. Really solid month of June.

Game 44: Gears of War Aftermath - 360 - 2 Hours - Completed 6/30/15
Really running out of games I want to play at this point. Repeats after repeats.

Game 45: Arkham Knight - PS4 - 20? Hours - Completed 7/6/15
After the fantastic Arkham City this is such a major disappointment.

Game 46: Metro 2033 - PS4 - 18 Hours - Completed 7/9/15
While I had some problems with getting lost and not having and directions, I really enjoyed this. I'm not sure if I liked it better than last light though.

Game 47: Metro Last Light - PS4 - 14 Hours - Completed 7/13/15
I really liked playing these in order. Previously I had only ever finished Last Light. I really hope there's another Metro game.

Game 48: Wolfenstein The New Order- PS4 - 15 Hours - Completed 7/28/15
Love this game. Beat it last year on XB1 multiple times.

Game 49: The Order 1886 - PS4 - 9 Hours - Completed 8/10/15
The longest short game I have ever played. Roughly 9 hours total and maybe 2 hours of ACTUAL gameplay.

Game 50: Gears of War 3 - 360 - 12 hours - Completed 8/13/15
Love this series. Had to wash away the shitiness that was The Order.

Game 51: Call of Duty Advanced Warfare - PS4 - 6 Hours - Completed 8/16/15
Nothing more to add from my XB1 play through. Looks a bit better and I prefer the DS4. That's about it.

Game 52: Gears of War - 360 - 9 Hours - Completed 8/17/15
Fuck Dom. God damn useless AI.

Game 53: Gears of War 2 - 360 - 10 Hours - Completed 8/24/15
Next year I may do this challenge again and only play through the gears games, over and over.

Game 54: Bioshock Infinite - PC - 10 Hours - Completed 8/30/15
New video card, so it was time to find out what ultra everything looked like. Gorgeous. This is the first playthrough where I think the combat was too much. Too chaotic for a bioshock game.

Game 55: Bulletstorm - PC - 9 Hours - Completed 8/31/15
Still fun after all these years. This is my true 52nd game completed. I failed to finish 3 games earlier because of how bad they were. Did a shitload a replays, replays and replays but it got done.

Game 56: Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls (story mode completed) - PS4 - 12 Hours - Completed 9/1/15
Played this a shitload last year on my xbox one. I heard there were some changes and seasons coming, so i picked it up again. Pretty easy playthrough with a crusader. Don't think I ever died.

Game 57: Resident Evil Revelations 2 - PS4 - 12 Hours - Completed 9/14/15
So this is what a good Resident Evil game looks like.

Game 58: The Evil Within - PS4 - 13 Hours - Completed 9/24/15
A fantastic, yet highly flawed, game. Might pick up the DLC.

Game 59: Tomb Raider - PS4 - 8 Hours - Completed 9/27/15
I have now finished Tomb Raider on every single platform it was released on. PC/PS3/XB1/360 and now PS4.

Game 60: Transformers Devastation - PS4 - 4 Hours - Completed 10/10/15
Only 4 hours. 4 hours of pure joy.

Game 61: Devil May Cry 4 - PS4 - 15 Hours - Completed 10/10/15
Well this was certainly a good day for action games. No, these games weren't completed in a single day. DMC4 was spread out over a week.

Game 62: COD MW - 360 - 6 Hours - Completed 10/11/15
Game one of the yearly codathon is in the books.

Game 63: COD MW2 - 360 - 6 Hours - In Progress 10/18/15
Still a lot of scripting bugs, but a really enjoyable COD.

Game 64: COD MW3 - 360 - 5 Hours - Completed 10/13/15
Nothing to add. One of my most replayed games of all time.

Game 65: COD Ghosts - PS4 - 5 Hours - Completed 10/15/15
I wonder if there is anybody in the world that has played through this game as much as me.

Game 66: Uncharted 2- PS4 - 9 Hours - Completed 10/18/15
Free rental from redbox. Can't complain about that price.

Game 67: COD AW- PS4 - 6 Hours - Completed 10/18/15
The campaign has aged really well.

Game 68: COD BO1 - 360 - 6 Hours - Completed 10/24/15
Just one more COD and I'm onto Black Ops 3.

Game 69: COD BO2 - 360 - 5 Hours - Completed 10/24/15

Game 70: God of War III - PS4 - 12 Hours - Completed 10/25/15
My second play through, but this is what I wanted to see my first time through. I didn't have nearly the control problems that I did with the PS3 release. After ascension I had forgotten why I love this series so much. Now I remember.

Game 71: Black Ops III - PS4 - 10 Hours - Completed 11/6/15
What a trippy campaign. Had a lot of fun even with the grenade spam.

Game 71: Black Ops III Nightmare - PS4 - 8 Hours - Completed 11/7/15
Oh I liked this. I hope there is more of it in the DLC.

Game 72: Uncharted - PS4 - 12 Hours - Completed 11/14/15
It's been so long since I played the first Uncharted that this felt like a brand new game. It's still a really good game.

Game 73: Gears of War Ultimate Edition - XB1 - 8 Hours - Completed 11/14/15
Looks much better. Loved the new level. Dom is still an idiot.

Game 74: Gears of War Judgment - XB1 - 8 Hours - Completed 11/26/15
Yep, finished on xbox one :)

Game 75: Rise of the Tomb Raider - XB1 - 12 Hours - Completed 11/28/15
Far better than the 2013 game. This may be my game of the year.

Game #1: inFamous: First Light
Platform: PS4 - Beaten: 12th January
Completion: Campaign & Side Quests
Rating: ★★★

Not a huge fan of the inFamous series, but I enjoyed Second Son just about enough to be pleased to get the First Light expansion this month. Enjoyed playing as Fetch and the light power was my favourite from the main game. Was interesting to see some further expansion to her character and motives, although I found the majority of the story missions a little boring, and it was only really towards the end that it paid off. Gameplay is easy to get on with though and I enjoyed mopping up the collectibles and the challenge arena's.

Game #2: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty
Platform: PS4 - Beaten: 14th January
Completion: Completed, bad ending.
Rating: ★★★★★

Abe's Oddysee was one of my favourite games from the PS1 era and I lost my shit when they announced New 'n' Tasty. I bought this at release on PS4 but ended up dropping it for something else, and I'd always rather re-start games completley than pick up at the same point if I leave them for more than a few weeks. Re started it the other day and ended up finishing it successive days. I find the character and world design of the Oddworld games absolutely timeless and fascinating, and it's such a greatly unique package. I got the bad ending on this play through, but absolutely wish to play it again at a later date to aim for the good end.

Game #3: Hotline Miami
Platform: PS4 - Beaten: 16th January
Completion: Completed story
Rating: ★★★★★

Not the first time I've completed this (but still counts here, right?) but it's one of my favourite games of all time. I just absolutely adore the gameplay and the soundtrack is God-tier. In all liklihood I'll probably play through and finish this another 2 or 3 times this year.

Alright, well, the thread's started, so it's fair game to begin, right?
It's not my thread and I don't rule over it but since it's not 2015 anywhere in the world I really don't see how people can count games already.

Nothing stops people from just leaving the last boss and stuff like that until midnight on Jan 1st to "finish it in 2015" and that isn't much different I guess... but that would still look better than listing finished games already.

This reminds me that I should update my post with some goals and rules (personal ones that is).

Claiming a post. Do the games have to be started in 2015, or can I just finish them?

1. The Room 2 (iOS) 8/10
4-5 hours to beat I guess? Finished January 3rd
# Wonderful game and looking forward to the next one when it's released and on sale.
Puzzle-rooms might have been a bit too different in context from each other. I guess it's not the story you are after, but the puzzles.

2.The Year Walk (PC) 4/10
1 hr 40 minutes. Finished January 6th.
As a Swede who works as an archaeologist and have read Ethnology in university I was looking forward to this "game" since I know of all this folklore.
It was a nice experience but more of a presentation than a game for me. Not what I was expected, a bit let down.
Not sure if I have seen the "true" ending, but I have played enough of this game. Hope to see more of Swedish/nordic folklore in games.

3. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. PS Vita 7/10
About 40 hrs? Finished January 7th. Platinum
It's a good game but not worth the praise a lot of people are giving it, according to me.
Played with japanese audio, listened short to english audio but I did not like it at all.
Some nitpicks:
* The main characer is very short compared to the NPCs, AKA crotch cam.
When you move up to other characters you are about the same height as their... crotches.
No big deal, but annoying and could be easily fixed.

* Controls are not good.
* Logic in how people think and where they can go in the game is very flawed. The main character and other NPCs refuse to check certain areas because of stupid game-logic reasons.
* Presentation on how the trials work are poor and required me to go online and check how to do it, only to find out several other people complaining about the same issue.

Still like the game though, but not as much as I thought I would. I preferred Virtues Last Reward over Danganronpa.

4. The Fall (PC) 9/10
4 hours, Finished January 16th
Big surprise that I started playing after hearing about it on Giant Bombcast. Wonderful atmospheric platform puzzler. Looking forward to the next part.

5. Xcom Enemy Within (iOS) 9/10
20-30 hrs? Finished January 17th
Played through on normal on iPad Mini 2. Game was really hard in the beginning, but end-game was very easy.
Good game but I thought the controls would be better. Main problem with controls are when you have several levels ofh height to swich between.
Also quite easy to accidentally throw grenades etc at the wrong place (mostly where you are standing) unless you are carefull with how you press the screen.
Graphic-wise it's nothing spectacular but works.

6. The Walking Dead season 1. (PC) 8/10
18 hrs, including idling for cards. Finished January 18th
Finally made it through this game. It's been an experience. Maybe did not make all the choices I should have, but I have no regrets. And I understand why you should only play through this game once. Still a lot of questions unanswered, what if I did that, why did I do that, who should I save... Feelings.
Looking forward to 400 days and season 2.

7. Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PC) 9/10
Not sure how long this took me. Steam says 14 hours, but some of that is idling card and a lot of pausing the game. Finished January 18th.
One of the most important games of 2014 with a wonderful story, beatiful art and even better music. Would love to collect all the collectibles but I feel that doing that would lessen the game. So I won't.
Something everybody should experience.

8. Hexcells (PC) 9/10
Started January 18th, finished January 20th. 4 hrs.
Yes, it's great. Yes I want more. When your brain finally understands, it turns out to be a fantastic logic puzzle-game.

9. Sword and Poker Adventures (iOS) 3/10
Abandoned this piece of shit when I reached world 3, January 22nd. Maybe 5-10 hours?
Having been a big fan of Sword and Poker I was surprised to see this stealthy release by Konami.
Sadly the game is a big turd. And destroys everything that was good with the previous games.
Freemium (pay to win) to the extreme. Don't let this soil your hardware.

10. The Walking Dead 400 days (PC) 7/10
2 hrs, January 19th & 23rd.
Really liking this bitesize-adventure. Would love to see more of these episodes. Some of the stories seem so short I hardly knew it started. Maybe a bit longer and they would be almost perfect.

11. Framed (iOS) 5/10
30 minutes? January 26th and 27th
Nice concept. Consider this hardly a game but more of a concept, interactive "story". Feels unfinished and lacking content.
Happy to try it out, but I would have been disappointed if I'd paid for the game.

12. Rollers of the Realm (PS Vita) 6/10
Finished February 1st
Had some high hopes about this game but knew that it might be not that great.
And good God what a boring mindless, skill-less game it is.
I am a big fan of pinball games, so the idea behind the game sound interesting but is never proven and is full of shortcomings.
The game takes a lot of what is bad about pinball and implements it in an adventure style progression.

The campaign is annoying but thankfully short. After the campaign is over there is an arena where you can try to reach goals and beat highscores.
Might try this game again on PS4 (cross-buy) to see if it's better there, but I doubt it. I have no desire at all to try and get all trophies.
Thankful I bought it on a sale.
I can't recommend this game to anybody.
Please avoid and spend your money on something better.

13. Jazzpunk (PC) 6/10
2 hrs 30 minutes. Finished February 7th.
This was better than I thought going in to the game. Very confusing but highly enjoyable.
Another concept-game where design and looks are more important than gameplay.
Perfect example what a hipster game would look and play like..
Lots of achievement and there is a big risk that you will play through the game missing most of them, unless you use a guide.
Would like to see more games/missions connected to this world. And maybe a meatier game. Will probably go back and try to get some of the many achievments I missed.

14. Leo's Fortune(iOS) 8/10
Finished February 21st
One of the best platformers on iOS with great controls, storytelling, graphics and music. Hope to see some sort of continuation from the developers.

15. The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav (PC) 7/10
12 hrs, including idling for cards. Finished February 22nd.
I enjoyed this adventure. I like the scenery and artwork as well as the music and voice-casting. The closeup character art is not as good though.
There are some illogical puzzles that were annoying but I used a guide for those.
Now I'll wait for Memoria to go on sale or be part of a bundle. I have all the rest of the games in the series.

16. Whoa Dave! (PS Vita) 5/10
2-3 hrs. Stopped playing February 25th.
Whoa... why?
High-schore chasing retro-arcade game with quite high difficulty and no end. Charming music and very simple Atari-2600 graphics.
High-score for me so far is $1.47. You unlock the next difficulty at $1.50. Got it through PS+.
Kinda fun game but nothing you will remember and sometimes very annoying.

17. Gems of War (iOS) 5/10
75-100 hrs? stopped playing March 8th.
Reached lvl 101, 563 trophies, 219,227 gold, 16 kingdoms and 92 troops. 840/1000 Game Center points

As a big fan of Puzzle Quest I gave this game a lot of chances and a lot of my time. A lot of my time.
I really wanted to like this game but the longer I played it, hoping to reach some sort of turning point, the more I realised this game is out to cheat.
To many times the opponent have made big winning draws that occur way to often to be random or part of the game system.
I felt all the time the this game awards IAPs and punishes other players, or tries to force them toward IAPs. I played this without buying any IAPs.
Being part of a guild negates this partly but not enough. A lot of hooks to keep you playing, but I am happy to break this up now.
There are way better games on iOS you could play instead, like Candy Crush.

18. Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS) 9/10
21.42 hrs, started playing March 8th, finished March 16th.
Total Rupees found: 26119, Times defeated:4
18 hearts, All Maiamais, Master Sword lvl 3, Super Lamp.
Such a wonderful game to start playing on a N3DS again.
I can recommend it without a doubt, especially if you are 40 and feel nostalgic.
I hope to see another Zelda-game of this type soon.

19. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros (3DS) 5/10
First Played 17/03/2015 Last Played 03/04/2015
Time to clear: 45:10 (44.38 according to Activity Log)

No. Times Played 13, Average Play Time 3:26
Mario & Luigis final level: 41
Excellent Rate 84%, Block-Recovery Rate 92%
Enemies Defeated 4998, Escapes 1, Time KO'd ?, Times Damaged 1591
Mushrooms Eaten 305, 4 Pi'llos left (Let them sleep!)

Never let Mario go on vacation. Bad games always comes out of it.
I'm very disappointed in this game. Might be the worst Mario game I ever played. I've played several of the earlier games in the series and enjoyed them.
It feels like way too long to reach the end and everytime I met an enemy was a chore. Full of frustrating mechanics and gimmicks that never feel fun.
Seems like Nintendo had a budget and time on their hand but not an idea of what to do with this game neaning this is a game that should not have been made.
Avoid.

20. Hexcells Plus(PC) 9/10
"Finished" April 7th. 20 hrs but lot's of that is it idling in the background when I've done other things.
Yes, it's great. Yes I wanted more and got it with Plus. Still a fantastic logic puzzle-game but increasingly frutrating in comparison to the first game. Relaxing but frustrating. Have perfected all but 8 levels. Might come back and try them now and again.
Infinity left in the series.

21. Final Fantasy X HD Remaster(PS Vita) 6/10
Finished April 9th (About 73 hrs, 33% trophies.
So I finally managed to get through this game. I've had it on PS2, PS3 and now I started anew on PS vita this year.
I can see that it might have been impressive when released on PS2 but it has some problems.

1. Fuck Chocobos
2. Fuck Tidus, what a whiny spoiled brat. biggest downer in this game. Disliked him throughout the game.
3. Fuck bad mini-games. Bad controls should not be a game-element.
4. Fuck Blitzball. Truly.

Was never that fond of the story as well. Again it seemed like they wanted much more than they fitted in the game, making some things seem displaced and unfinished.
I havef 33% of the trophies and probably won't get any more of this. The time-cost is way to high regarding to the experience and enjoyment I would get out of this. Better to start another game.

22. Warhammer Quest(iOS) 7/10
Finished April 20th (about 15 hrs
This is a really good game hindered greatly by IAP. With the base purchase (about $6) you only get one region which consists of 9 story missions and quite a bit more random missions.
Story wise it's on Kindergarten fantasy level but game mechanics are really good for most of the time.
The random missions are important to get experience, items and weapons. the problem is that most of the weapons you can get are for characters that you have to purchase for about $3 each...
If you want another region you have to pay $6 (in Sweden).
The base is really good but lacking in content and as such you always feel hindered by IAP-limits even though you paid for the game. Left me wanting more but not for the price they are asking.

23. Hexcells Infinite. (PC) 8/10
"Finished April 21st (so far 9 hrs)
Third entry in the Hexcells series and the weakest in my meaning, but still good.
It might have infinite puzzles with random seeds but the main puzzles feel thrown together and not as aestethic as previous puzzles. This makes me uninterested in getting perfect on all levels.
Hope to see a remix of all levels and infinite levels ported to iOS and Android tablets.

24. Ys: Memories of Celceta. (PS Vita) 7/10
Finished May 8th. (32 hrs) (44% trophies)
Started playing this after getting bored playing Majoras Mask on N3DS.
Memories of Celceta is a average to good action RPG where I was a bit disappointed with the graphics, but they are OK if they are scaled down to make the game faster.
Had fun but the collectathon for getting all the trophies is something I won't endure. Finished the game on normal and trying it again on Nightmare to see if I get some extra trophies, but won't make another playthrough. Solid 7/10.

25. Hoplite (iOS) 9/10
No idea how many hours, many. First returned the fleece April 20th?
Wish it had a bit more content but this is otherwise a perfect game. Strategic turn-based game at it's finest, and simplest.

26. Legend of Grimrock (iOS) 9/10
Finished May 30th, about 20 hrs.
This has to be one of the best iPad games out there.
I've had the game for years on PC but never took the time to play it.
Glad I waited for this version as it is truly a joy to play on a tablet.
Makes you feel like you are looking through a window to another world.
Helps that Dungeon Master on Atari ST is one of my favourite games ever.
No regrets at all paying full price.
Want more of these games on tablets.

27. Dear Esther (PC) 3/10
Finished June 6th. 3 hrs.
So I finally played this game. Even though my computer struggled sometimes it was a nice technical demo and I liked the scenery...
About the story. Spoiler:
Fuck the ending and this game.
I am against suicide as an option and here there was no choice.
Sorry, but only cowards commit suicide no matter the reason. So fuck this games message.

28. Fallout Shelter (iOS) 5/10
Stopped playing June 21th. Played for four days, Last Daily Report was B+ 87%. I have 109 dwellers.
As a big fan of Fallout, I must say that Fallout Shelter is not for me. What a waste of resources.
Nice aestethics but there is no game to speak of.
Progress is slow and it feels like there are gameplay elements that are missing, that should be there.
The achievements seem broken and wont activate, same goes for the objectives.
I have much more fun with Candy Crush Saga.
Will erase the game and never look back, looking forward to Fallout 4 instead.

29. Hero Emblem s(iOS) 9/10
Finished July 5th. 30 hrs playtime.
This is one of the best match-3 games on iOS with colorful graphics and great gameplay.
It has a steep difficulty curve which makes it a grind sometimes.
It's difficult but it never feels like it's cheating.
When you manage to conquer a level, it's because you were good at it, not because the game let you win.

30. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. PS Vita 6/10
64 hrs. Finished July 12th. Platinumed

Somehow I hoped that Danganronpa 2 would be better than the first game, but that was not the case.
The gameworld is more varied but that is not an improvement and makes the game feel less well built. The first game was in one building with different levels. This has several island with different themes. The story, characters and cases are also a downgrade compared to the first game.

The main characer is still very short compared to the NPCs.
The first game had the crotch cam, when you moved up to other characters you were about the same height as their... crotches. in the sequel it's about the height of their breasts or somewhere between the belly and breasts.
Still no big deal, but annoying and should have been improved. Maybe the third game will have face to face.
The controls are still not good, but small improvement.
The game is OK, but the first game is better.

31. Entwined (PS Vita) 3/10
4 hours, started July 26th, finished July 27th.
Finished story mode and tried Challenge mode a couple of times.
Entwined on vita is a blissfull piece of shit.
Controls are awful in this demo/game and makes it frustrating/painful to play, removing the supposedly relaxing and ambient atmosphere the game probably has on the PS4.
Delete the game from your memory card and use the space for something better.
If you have the option, play it on PS4, because the Vita version is not worth your time.
I haven't played it on PS4 so I hope it's better there.

32. Hitman GO (iOS) 10/10
Probably 10-20 hours. Finished July 30th. All achievements taken.
This has been one of the best iOS games I ever played. Perfectly designed and executed to the format.
I had a great time playing this on my iPad Mini and am looking forward to the next game, Tomb Raider GO.
This belongs to the classics.

33. Sly 2: Band of Thieves (PS Vita) 7/10
About 20 hours?, Finished August 8th. Platinum.
This is a good game but it's minigames with awful controls are sadly dragging it down and I was about to give up the game a couple of times because of this.
Control is great on Vita and the graphics fit the handheld. Video-clips are sadly below par, heavily compressed and full of artefacts.
Overall though this is a game I can recommend.

34: 9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek. (PC) 6/10
3 hrs including idling. Finished August 13th. 16/19 Achievements
Didn't have any expectations when I started this game but was happily surprised.
A fun and engaging Hidden Object game that was relaxing and enjoyable to play.

35: 9 Clues 2: The Ward. (PC) 7/10
7hrs including idling, felt shorter than the first game though... Finished August 16th. 32/39 Achievements.
Jumped straight into this after playing the first game in the series.
Seems I like these Hidden Object games. Another good game that I enjoyed playing.
The story and gameplay was tighter and felt better than the first game.
To get all the achievements you need to play through the game more than once, which I won't.

36. Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride. (PC) 8/10
8 hrs including idling. Finished August 27th. 19/24 Achievements.
Another great Hidden Object game I enjoyed playing.
Good story, atmosphere and gameplay.
Was not fond of the domino-part so I skipped that one completely.

37. Loot & Legends (iOS) 5/10
20-30hrs? Finished September 5th
I would really like to play this game since I enjoyed the earlier version on PC and the format of an iPad is superior when playing these kind of games.
Sadly the constant crashes and lost connections makes this an unpleasant experience.
Together with the games linearity makes it less playable.
Hope for big improvements and will continue play now and then.
Edit: After an update the crashes and disconnects still haven't been fully fixed. I've finished the campaign and won't return to this game until major improvements. Erased.

38. Picross e (N3DS) 8/10
14:51 hrs. Finished September 6th
Great classic puzzler.
Picross will always be Picross, although I wish this was a full-price game and. Picross e2 bought and downloaded.
Wished for more control options.

39. Grim Legends 2: Song of The Dark Swan (iOS) 8/10
6 hrs? finished September 24th.
Another great Hidden Object game that I enjoyed. Played the first part on PC (see 36)
Story and gameplay have been improved since the first part.
The graphics are very nice on an iPad Mini 2, although the controls could have been better adjusted to a touch screen.

40. Mind Snares: Alice's Journey (PC) 7/10
6 hrs including idling for cards. Finished September 26th. 15/17 achievements.
Yup, another hidden object game. Liked the story and setting,
although it felt like it ended a bit abruptly, not getting to know what happened after Alice presumably woke up.

41. Grow Home (PS4) 8/10
Probably around 8-9 hours. Completed September 30th. 100% trophies.
This was a wonderful surprise, being a PS+ game.
A lovely game with vibrant colors, engaging world and an atmosphere with a great sense of depth.
Also a game that my kids enjoyed to watch when I played. The controls might seem to be clunky but you'll get used to it.
Hope to see a sequel sometime. I Have it also on Steam so I might do another playthrough there since its such a good game to pick up and play now and then.

42. Enigmatis:The Ghosts of Maple Creek (PC). 5/10
5,6 hrs. Completed October 1st. 8/11 achievements.
First Hidden Object game I did not like. The story is not told well, and too many hidden object scenes make it chopped up.
The graphics and sound design is lacking and not inspiring.
That there is no quick travel between locations in the game makes it tedious especially since you have to go to different locations to pick up/find items and return very often.
In the hidden games the "cursor detection" have some issues which results in misclicks.

43. Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood (PC). 8/10
11 hrs, including idling. Completed October 6th. 36/36 achievements.
This was a happy surprise coming directly from the first game in the series.
This sequel improves in everything. The atmosphere, puzzles, design, sound and music are all extremely good.
The story is an big improvement as well, even though the main character is a bit thick in the head regarding some main story elements and it's characters.
This was so good that I actually went back and played through the games a couple of times to get all of the achievements.

44. The Stanley Parable (PC) 6/10
1 hr. Completed October 11th.
This was a nice experience, wouldn't call it a game though. Between this and Gone Home I prefer Gone Home.
Everything is highly dependent on the excellent narrator though.
Might return to it and see some more alternatives. Worth buying at a 75% sale.

45. Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink (8/10)
7,5 hrs, Completed October 12th. 100% Achievements.
Probably the best Hidden Object so far in terms of presentation.
Although the repeating of puzzles is obvious when you played a lot of other Artifex Mundi Game.
The game is also quite short and the end feels abrupt and seems to be lacking something lost in development.
My 7hrs of the games consists of 3 playthroughs of the main game and 1 playthrough of the bonus content.
Highly recommended otherwise though.

46. Metal Gear Solid (PsOne/Vita) 7/10
12-15 hrs? Gave up playing October 12th
This is a game I bought it for PsOne although it was not until this year I tried to finish it on my Vita.
I've started it several times throughout the years, but always stopped playing.
This time I made a bigger effort although I stopped playing when I reached Metal Gear boss battle.
The controls were too difficult to grasp on PS Vita to make it an enjoyable boss fight so I decided that enough is enough and watched the rest of the game on Youtube.
Altogether this game has still it's qualities as a classic although it hasn't aged well regarding it's controls.
Now I can move onto MGS 2 which I also had since the PS2 days but never got around playing properly.
My Vita comes to the rescue once again. Getting closer to MGS V one game at a time...

Game:
Beautiful game, I was impressed and have no idea how I missed out on this for so long. Not much of a complex puzzle game though and gets a bit tedious in the end.

Game: Toybox Turbos
Underwhelming game that didnt get close to the level of Micro Machines. Disappointing.

Game: Blocks That Matter
Shitty cringeworthy story/writing, but other than that it is a nice enjoyable puzzle game with a farily good soundtrack.

Game: Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition
Charming metroidvania-style action/platformer game with great combat mechanic. Expected more from it, but it was great nonetheless.

Game: Grim Fandango Remastered
My favourite adventure-game is just as awesome as I remember it. Loaded with charm, humor and great characters, enjoyed every second of the atmospheric places I traveled to.

Game: Talos of the Principle
Great and beautiful puzzle game with amazing atmosphere. To be honest, the puzzles could get a bit boring and generic, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Game: Hexcells Plus
More of Hexcells with harder maps, fun at first but some maps just got too large in the end to be fun to play.

Game: Hexcells
Almost like a new take on Mines, pretty nice puzzle game. Varying and short enough to not get boring and repetitive.

Game: Talos of Principle
Great and beautiful puzzle game with interesting story. The puzzles feels kinda "ordinary"/"generic" and can get boring, but I greatly enjoyed it anyway.

Game: World of Goo
Bridge building-like puzzle game. Charming with great story narration and level design, but got really annoyed a good bunch of times because of the game mechanics.

Game: Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time
Annoying and slow puzzle game, basically build a vehicle and jank your way to the end.

1. The Legend of Dark Witch - 6:08 completed on 1-3-2015
(3/5) Decent Mega Man clone. It felt a little cheap at times, but it was good overall.

2. Fairune - 4:59 completed on 1-5-2015
(3/5) It's essentially a long exercise in finding a secret path in a room. I got stuck and had to look up the answer three times, which is not a great feeling. For a few bucks, it was a decent trek.

3. Uncharted: Golden Abyss - 15:00* completed on 1-6-2015
(2/5) What a bore. A bunch of running down corridors, cover shooting, ultra linear climbing. just jumping through hoops. The only positive thing I can say about it is that the graphics are pretty impressive.

4. Unfinished Swan - 2:30* completed on 1-27-2015
(4/5) As a game, Unfinished Swan was a little flat and simple. As an experience, it was much more impressive. I liked the story and the premise, and it actually made me a little sad. A prime example of how story can sometimes be more significant than gameplay.

5. The Swapper - 3:00* completed on 2-4-2015
(3/5) I get why people seem to like this game so much, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. These sorts of puzzle room games never are. The graphics were nice but I really dislike the paper doll animation with realistic character models. Also, the difficulty curve is pretty bad--every puzzle is too easy until the end.

5. Rogue Legacy - 14:17 completed on 2-7-2015
(5/5) I love this game. It's not perfect, but it's such a great concept and is so fun to play. I wish it was less grindy and there was more permanent things to do in the castle, but it's still an amazing game I'd love a sequel to. Plus the music and art are so great.

6. Rogue Legacy (NG+) - 5:55 completed on 2-11-2015
(5/5) First time completing NG+ on Rogue Legacy. I was a little disappointed that there's very little variation between areas now, since most enemies are tier 3 everywhere. Spent a lot of time grinding to get a foothold, but once I had it the whole thing wrapped up quickly.

7. Sunset Overdrive - 20:00* completed on 2-14-2015
(2/5) What a disappointment. The humor was terrible, the gameplay was ok, the artstyle was strong. Too many bullet sponges. The game is most fun when traversing the environment successfully, but much of the combat removes this element.

8. The Keep - 9:06 completed on 2-20-2015
(3/5) A solid game, that leaves a lot to be desired. The controls work, but I don't love them. Melee combat in particular is pretty bad, and ultimately not that important. The rune casting system is pretty cool, but I would have preferred a system which didn't require memorization of combinations). Too many mobs later on had healing spells which just makes the game frustrating. I would still buy a sequel, however.

9. Sniper Elite 3 - 15:00* completed on 2-23-2015
(5/5) This game has got a lot of technical flaws, but it's so fun that they're easy for me to overlook. At the root is a stealth game that isn't overly punishing when you alert the enemy. I went into this one not expecting much but now I'm a full on convert.

10. Call of Duty: Ghosts (campaign) - 8:00* completed on 3-10-2015
(2/5) Just a typical CoD campaign with lots of explosions and shooting and not much substance. It doesn't help that I played AW before Ghosts, which has a much better campaign.

11. Counter Spy - 4:00* completed on 3-15-2015
(3/5) I love the aesthetics of this game but the mechanics left a little to be desired. Why can't I invert the over-the-shoulder aim but keep the side-view aim uninverted? The stealth is pretty good, but I felt a little too weak. All in all it's a great concept that falls just a little short for me.

12. Shovel Knight - 6:45 completed on 3-16-2015
(4/5) Great game. Awesome art. I just wish you walked faster and I thought the difficulty curve was a little too steep at the end of the game.

13. Rollers of the Realm - 10:00* completed on 3-19-2015
(2/5) This game had a lot of potential that's left unrealized. I started off enjoying it but it just got more and more tedious. If it wasn't for this challenge I never would have finished it.

14. Hexcells - 2:30 completed on 3-19-2015
(4/5) Great puzzle game that's sort of like a less standardized Picross. The music was relaxing and simple, the interface was clean and professional. I liked the patterns that formed from the puzzle results. I disliked that clues weren't a bit more standardized. Also, I repeatedly confused LMB and RMB throughout the game; I could never keep it straight in my head.

15. Gunpoint - 6:00 completed on 3-25-2015
(4/5) Really cool game. I loved the animation. It was such a fresh take on a concept that's been done a thousand times before. I wish it was a little more "freestyle fucking with people" and little less "solve this puzzle to clear this area."

16. Dying Light - 35:00* completed on 3-27-2015
(4/5) I went into Dying Light expecting to hate it. Instead what I found was a surprisingly fun game. The game has plenty of rough patches but it's fun and the skill tree is decent. I loved how playing at night was more difficult with higher rewards, or you could just skip it entirely by sleeping.

17. Bloodborne - 50:00+ completed on 5-7-2015
(5/5) Like every souls game to date, BB simply blew me away. I love the atmosphere and the story and the way the enemies are more and more transformed as the game goes on. The only thing I don't like is the lack of variety in the weapons and armor, but I get why. I'm still playing NG+ as I move to resolve some mistakes I made in my last playthrough and also go for a different ending. Fucking masterpiece of a game.

18. Wolfenstein: The New Order - 15:00* completed on 5-22-2015
(4/5) I loved this game for the first half. The story and presentation are top notch. In the second half, I feel it takes a step backwards with too many unbelievable. {SPOILER] There are just too many cutscenes where BJ should be dead, only to be fine seconds later[/SPOILER]. I also thought the action/difficulty was spot on in the first half and a little too much chaos towards the end. I'm looking forward to a sequel that ties up some loose ends, such as
Frau Brokeface and BJ not being dead yet again so he can finally be with Anya. Seriously, don't fuck with my emotions![/SPOILER

19. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare - 72:32 completed on 6-7-15
(5/5) This is one of my favorite shooters of all time. It's executes competitive MP nearly as good as any other relevant franchise while being cute and even a little funny at times. There aren't enough classes and class variants for my taste, and I don't like how most variants are repeated across all classes, and I wish there were more levels and modes, but these issues don't bother me enough to make me not love the game.

20. Metal Gear Solid - Ground Zeros - 1:03 completed on 6-7-15
(3/5) Way to short, but still fun as hell. I get the whole "paid demo" thing. Apparently you're meant to replay it repeatedly, but that's not really my style. Cool story stuff though.

21. You Must Build a Boat - 11:37 completed on 6-11-2015
(4/5) Fun and addicting as hell. I don't even mind that it's basically a bigger version of 10m, in fact it's exactly what I wanted. I thought some areas were too hard, especially the final run. Still, great phone game. Awesome way to kill 5 minutes over and over.

22. Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow - 9:33 completed on 6-23-2015
(5/5) Great game, but the slow attack speed and animation lock on the weapons is pretty painful. I seem to remember using small swords last time through (when the game released) but I had to use daggers just to make attacking faster. I think DoS may be my favorite Castlevania, even if there aren't a ton of secrets.

23. Saints Row IV: Re-Elected - 20:00* completed 6-25-2015
(4/5) I had a really fun time with this. The super powers were really cool, and the guns were wacky like always. I loved SR4's ability to draw from all of these other games/movies. There are dozens of elements taken from other media, to the point where it makes Darksiders seem 100% original. But that's not a knock, I loved it.

Ultimately I missed driving around the city. I almost would have preferred the super powers to be isolated experiences, because so much of what makes up the typical open-world city game is absent here. With that said, I still love the game for what it is. The -1 point is because I had a lot of technical issues, such as my game pausing by itself (more towards the end) and my air dash/run not working quite frequently despite having full stamina.

24. Grand Theft Auto V - 40:22 (not including GTO) completed 6-28-2015
(4/5) GTA V is amazing. It's almost perfect in almost all ways, but I hate the controls. The aiming doesn't feel good to me. Running shouldn't be mapped to a face button, and sprinting is even worse. L2 + touchpad to throw a grenade is just strange. And honestly, why are they still dedicating as crucial of a button as circle to a cinematic camera that's impossible to use while driving? I just feel like the game's controls feel dated and tied to the old games. GTA needs to follow MGS's example and throw out the old controls and get with the times.

25. Killzone Shadowfall - 10:00* completed 6-30-2015
(1/5) I really don't get the appeal of this game. I walked into this thinking it was going to be excellent, and it turned out to be such a bore. I didn't care about the story or characters at all. The four way drone mechanic seemed unnecessary because I used Assault for 90% of the game and Shock for most of the rest of it, only touching the other two when I absolutely had to. The guns were pretty boring although they sounded good. Just a boring slog all around, entirely unremarkable in every way.

26. Metro Last Light - 12:00* completed 7-5-2015
(2/5) I guess if you're into the story and the lore then this game would be pretty interesting, but I'm not so it wasn't. I found it to be a boring slog through a lot of too-dark corridors punctuated with the occasional romp through frustrating, wide open surface areas where the filter mechanic forces you to push forward constantly instead of exploring freely. A minor quip that annoyed me throughout the game is the terrible night vision scopes, which looked more like green glass over a normal scope instead of something that actually lets you see in the dark.

27. Lifeline - 2:00* completed 7-21-2015
(3/5) Pretty decent Choose Your Own Adventure game. The real life time flow mechanic was a nice novelty. The story was pretty good, but I hated Taylor's character and dialogue. I also found it to be too small/short/simple. But it was a nice first (?) effort.

28. Steve Jackson's Sorcery - 2:00* completed 7-21-2015
(5/5) I loved Choose Your Own Adventure books as a kid, and I love how this game brings the genre back with a 3D map to navigate around on while still maintaining its book qualities. For example, the way the written story appears on screen, as if on a scroll, and how the new story details are sewn onto that scroll after you make a decision. I also love that the game uses the old artwork from the books. And finally, I love that the game gives you the option to rewind any decision, in case you feel the need to cheat. The only thing I don't love is the length and the price.

29. Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies - 65:14 completed 7-25-2015
(4/5) I love this series and I love most of the changes DD brought with it. While I miss the sprite characters, they did a good job matching most of the animations with the new polygonal models. All in all this game did a good job of modernizing the series, but I felt that a lot of the new additions were underutilized. However, I thought that this game had the weakest (new) characters of the series and that is why I can't give it a 5. The new graphics and mechanics are great, but when you have a game that is so character focused, you really need to have enjoyable characters.

30. Entwined - 5:00* completed 8-16-2015
(4/5) Fun game. I loved how I got better as I played; in that way, it kind of reminded me of Rock Band. I liked the abstract story concept behind it, even if it doesn't really impact the game itself. Didn't care for the free flying sections at the end of each level, but it paid off slightly in the end.

31. Duet - 4:00* completed 8-25-2015
(5/5) I love this game so much. It's a perfect mobile game: it uses touch perfectly, is easy to pick up and put down, and can be enjoyed for minutes or hours. I blew through the main levels and am now tackling the challenges. This is one game that I find myself coming back to every so often.

32. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - 10:00* completed 9-4-2015
(4/5) This game is full of little glitches here and there, usually to do with the physics. Even still, playing it in co-op was really fun. I loved how it mixed puzzles and platforming into a Diablo-lite kind of game. The weapons were ok, and I liked how you could both find them in levels as well as unlock them by completing challenges. The process of collecting gems and unlocking boxes was ultimately pretty throw-away, but it felt good in the moment. All in all it was a total surprise, and one of the more fun co-op experiences I've had this year.

33. Dead Nation - 12:00* completed 10-1-2015
(3/5) Dead Nation is pretty rough around the edges, but the gameplay is solid and it manages to mix things up throughout. I love checking corners and being rewarded, and that's a big part here where you can find hidden armor upgrades and money. The weapons are useful in different ways and mostly feel pretty good. I do have to say, if I didn't play this co-op, I probably would have found it pretty boring.

34. Monument Valley - 3:00* completed 10-5-2015
(4/5) I couldn't get into this the last time I tried, but this time it clicked. The puzzles are a little easy, but the art and music are great. I had a lot of fun once I stopped trying to rush through it.

35. Monument Valley - Forgotten Shores - 2:00* completed 10-6-2015
(4/5) The puzzle difficulty is much better than the original release, and they do more cool stuff with perspective. Forgotten Shores also offered a little more perspective to the narrative.

36. Gauntlet - Slayer Edition - 10:00* completed 10-8-2015
(4/5) This game dropped a lot of balls, but I still had a great time. The upgrade system left a lot to be desired, as most of the things purchasable items are purely cosmetic. The campaign was shorter than I wanted, but I guess that's just the standard. I wish there was an option for gold sharing. However, despite all these shortcomings the game was still fun. I liked how my elf and my buddy's warrior complemented each other. I liked the Skull Coin continue system. And, of course, I like the general style of play of the genre.

37. Little Healer - 2:00* completed 10-8-2015
(3/5) This simple Android game simulates being a healer in a MMO raid. You must choose the 4 most appropriate spells/abilities from a list of 10 or so, and then try to keep your group alive while they kill the boss. There are no graphics, except for HP bars and spell icons. The game was free so I really can't complain. it was a decent healer simulation, but I disliked how trial and error the game was.

38. Grow Home - 6:00* completed 10-8-2015
(3/5) Grow Home was complete different from what I was expecting. It's an interesting concept that I enjoyed a lot more than I would have expected. I liked the feeling of exploring that world, even if there wasn't a whole lot to explore. The lowish score comes from the terrible physics, which were fun/funny at first and then annoying before long.

39. Super Meat Boy! - 5:00* completed 10-10-2015
(5/5) Fucking love this game! It's a perfect example of taking a simple concept and blowing it through the roof. Skill-based gaming at its best.

40. To Be or Not to Be - 2:00* completed 10-20-2015
(3/5) A little glitchy and a little more than a little nonsensical at times, this game was still pretty cool. It's a choose your own adventure version of Hamlet. It even gives you the option to play as Hamlet sr.'s ghost, and decide how you want to spend your afterlife. It's short enough to run through that trying other paths feels really good and accessible.

41. Monster Loves You! - 1:30* completed 10-21-2015
(3/5) I thought this was a really cute game that never took it as far as I wanted to go. I thought the first half of the game was the character creator, and then I realized that the entire game is just a series of options. Looking at my list for the year, it's clear I have no problem with these kinds of games, but I wish I knew what it was going into it. The presentation is great and the music is nice, and I like the overall concept. I just wish it ultimately put you in a leadership role or something, for the bulk of the game.

42. Gauntlet - Slayer Edition (Hard difficulty) - 20:00* completed 10-28-2015
(4/5) I found Gauntlet to be even more enjoyable on hard, except for on a few particularly tough spots. The higher difficulty meant that swapping out weapons and abilities for certain levels was more than just a luxury. It wasn't until the final boss of this playthrough that I realized one category of unlockables could be upgraded, giving money a new use for me and my co-op partner. This led to some Colosseum farming, which gave us a reason to play that previously ignored mode.

43. Halo: Combat Evolved (MCC) - 15:00* completed on 11-01-15
(2/5) Halo CE has aged pretty poorly in my opinion. This was truly a slog. My co-op partner actually fell asleep in the middle of mission 7, and then never returned. The one upside is that the Halo story finally started clicking for me when the monitor betrayed Master Chief, and then I was hooked. By then end I started to like the combat, too, but then I found levels with infinite spawning Flood.

44. Halo 5 - 9:00* completed on 11-02-15
(4/5) I found the gameplay very satisfying. I liked the encounters and settings. I wish you would have done something with the guardians besides look at them, and I could have done with less Warden. The story is fucking confusing and I don't understand why Cortana is physical now. This is why I'm replaying the series, because I want to care but I don't.

45. Card Crawl - 2:00* completed on 11-24-15
(3/5) This one is a mixed bag. I love the game for what it is, but I expected the formula to be twisted into a game that would last for dozens of hours. Instead, after a few days with it I feel that I have beaten it fully and gotten all it has to offer. If they ever add a campaign to it or something similar, I'll be sure to return for more.

46. ShipWrecked - 2:30* completed on 11-25-15
(3/5) I'm a huge fan of survival games and I love retro games and games that look to emulate retro games so when I saw ShipWrecked I was very excited. Unfortunately the game is pretty much just a scavenger hunt with survival field dressing, but I thought it was ok nevertheless.

47. Super Mario Bros. - 1:00* completed on 11-25-15
(3/5) I'm amazed at how difficult SMB is. It's brutal, and that's awesome. It means the coins actually matter. I found myself going out of my way to collect as many as possible. It was great. Unfortunately, the physics are all wrong in SMB, and it made the game more difficult than it should have been. I struggled to dodge enemies and it hurt the fun of the game.

48. Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) - 4:00* completed on 11-26-15
(4/5) SMB 2 is pretty hard, but the excellent controls made most areas feel fair. I love how different SMB 2 is from other Mario titles, and I wish they would have taken more from SMB 2. The vertical areas are fun and challenging in ways unique to the series. I also love how you get to pick your character in each level, and how there are advantages to each.

49. Stick it to the Man - 6:00* completed on 11-30-15
(4/5) I loved this game but it just dragged on too long. Also, too many platforming areas where you have to evade enemies.

50.Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - 8:00* completed on 12-2-15
(3/5) A solid expansion that lacked the story of the original, which is what made me like the original so much.

51.Fallout 4 - 60:00* completed on 12-16-15
(4/5) They key to my enjoyment is focusing on the game that we got, not the one I expected, because there are a ton of missed opportunities and disappointments here. However, I'll refrain from going down that path. Instead let me say that the story was decent, even if I hated the harsh, violent paths the game forces you down towards the end. As a father and a husband the beginning was unpleasant in an intentional way and it gave me serious drive, but I'm unsure how good of a thing this is. I say this because, if this was me in real life, I would murder everyone in my way in a blind rage to find my son. Instead, my character in Fallout spent a lot of fucking time building towns and doing stupid fetch quests to save everyone in the wasteland except for Shaun. Once you hit the half way point, the urgency of the situation is removed and these actions aren't so out of place. While I'm on story stuff, I think it's pretty out of character that my Sole Survivor is romancing people after what happened in the beginning. What I'm really coming down to is that the premise gets in the way of the gameplay, if you RP your character even a little bit (and I do, just a little bit). I almost think there should be multiple origins to pick from, because I also think the premise is the reason why I can't be a super dick. Sole Survivor is a loving husband and father and vet, but sometimes I just want to be a murderous, slaving cannibal.

I loved the new perk system. Building is probably my favorite thing in the game although it needs some serious work. Combat is getting stale and needs more effort put into it. I'll probably replay FO4 next year, and go down an different path.

52.War Agent - 2:00* completed on 12-16-15
(3/5) Simple game, nice pixel art, good message. A great concept that isn't very fun or deep, but is still fun to play with for a few hours.

I think I'll try the challenge, even though a large portion of my backlog are enormous JRPGs. I'm going to fail spectacularly.

I'm in!

I'm game :)......i did it once, i can do it again :D

Game 1: Cold Fear - 7 hrs. 2 mins.

Game 2: Resident Evil Revelations 2 – 6 hrs. 22 mins.
Not bad....it had some annoying parts( I Hate those one hit death fucks) but all in all a good game.
Game 3: Bloodborne - 43 hrs. 16 mins.
Hmmm.......I don't get why people love this game so much , i have no such love for this game. With its uncountable glitches *Most of them fixed now*, I hate having to hunt for a story in a game & the shite endings don't help there vague and not worth the effort. Not to mention, its horrible combat system :/ it wishes it was a character action game, but plays like a clunky mess.....but hey its just my opinion :p.
Game 4:: Lords of The Fallen - 20 hrs. 24 mins.
I enjoyed this game quit a bit more then i imaged; I really liked the story, and art style, i also felt the endings where decent. the control are ok, although a bit clunky at times......i really wish these game developers would stop releasing all these games with so many glitches :/ they need to stop using us as testers; as we are not paid to do so  all in all an enjoyable game :) .
Game 5: The Order 1886 - 6 hrs. 35 mins.
I really enjoyed this game a lot more then i imaged; i liked the story & the overall feel of the game......although the quicktime events where shite. i did like it lot.
Game 6: Tokiden Kiwami - 70 hrs. 23 mins.
Hmmm.....Let's see.... overall a decent game, but why is it so damned boring, I mean wow! 70 hrs. of the same stupid dull missions, and the same 15 or so monsters with reskins & different colors. I found the story to be interesting, i guess that's the main reason i finished it; i liked it in the end....but only a bit :/
Game 7:: Infamous: Second Son - 18 hrs. 10 mins.
Enjoyable game, i wish there more upgrades for your powers; but what are you going to do... All in all i liked it :) .

Just some fun playing as the apprentice, i thought he was a pretty awesome character :D

I'm a huge Tekken fan; had hours of endless fun with this game.

My annual replay of this game with my favorite character. relaxing game..... sometimes i need that and this was one of those times, lol.
Game 25: Hellboy The Science of Evil - 7 hrs. 28 mins.
Its and ok game; the controls can shite the bed at times. The last boss is .......well....... just stupid......and that fucking ending... wow! I can't facepalm enough. it was enjoyable at times, all in all just meh.
Game 26. Escape Dead Island - 7 hrs. 10 mins.
Its an ok game and i liked it for the most part...but....the controls are just cringe worthy. i absolutely hate the final chapters. stupid enemy spawn nest. :/ all in all decent, but no more then just that.
Game 27. Resident Evil 5 - 9 hrs. 5 mins.
Finished this on co-op it was enjoyable but jeez do i hate QTE's lol. good times. Finished the solo campaign 5 years ago i like the game its just nothing special; not one of my favorite re games that's for sure.
Game 28. SVC Chaos SNK vs. Capcom - 12 hrs. 15 mins.
I've always thought the controls were awkward in this game but i love it all the same. I just love the art style in these games :D .
Game 29. Guilty Gear XX - 20 hrs. 45 mins.
art styles is the primary reason i like the guilty gear series. i don't care for the way they play; but i sure do love that art and of course the music is top sleeve :)

I did quite well in 2014 with 61 games completed so I'm curious to see if I can match or do better than that this year.

I'm going to try and join this year, it unlikely will happen, I'm little above 30 games finished in 2014, but I'll cheat some, I have many unfinished games, which I'll try to finish in 2015, these counts, I hope?

let's get started

Game 1: Hatoful Boyfriend - 9 hours
The game wasn't what I expected at all, I expected hilarity, fun and insanity, and I got some of that, but a game surprised me on more than several occasions and the true route was something I never imagined to encounter in this game. Overall it is a great game, would recommend for any VN fan.

Game 2: Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey - 38 hours
This game might start a new genre RPG-scramble one, or not. Word or letter games seem to be unpopular. Mechanics are interesting, RPG aspects are very light and variety of enemies limited. Music wasn't good enough too, I've played most of those hours with a game muted, but there is something charming and very addictive about it, would recommend for people at least to try.

Game 3: Date Warp - 7 hours
It is an otome game, the story was not bad, characters too, puzzle part was just to be there, still nice little distraction. Overall not a bad VN, graphics aren't good though: backgrounds are OK, but characters... not so much.

Game 4: Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren`s Call - 10 hours
It's adventure, puzzle, hidden object, mahjong game, yeah, you won't get bored playing it. Longish hours because I decided to 100% it. Normally it's about 5 hours with extra campaign.

Game 5: Endless Space - 12 hours
It's a 4X space game, it's not bad, but controls are awful, I'm not a fan of UI too. Playing on endless difficulty is endlessly painful tho, in general playing is rather painful, partly because of UI and controls, partly because AI has all kinds of advantages, some really unfair. Still it's not a bad game.

Game 6: Alphadia Genesis - 56 hours
The oldschool JRPG that slightly overstays it's welcome.

Game 7: Cat Goes Fishing - 23 hours
As my playtime shows, it's really addictive game, very simple yet still fun to play, and it's a fishing game. Is it even possible to make a bad fishing game? I don't think so.

Game 8: Time Mysteries: The Ancient Spectres - 8 hours
Another Artifex Mundi adventure game: point&click, puzzle, hidden object. This was one worse than other their games, even if I liked time travel idea and how it was implemented, but there were less variety of puzzles and no minigame instead of hidden object ones.

Game 9: Crystal Story II - 50 hours
I had a blast with this game, even if it is wannabe FF, it's a fun game with lots to do: card game, alchemy, two defence games, snowboard game, fishing game, optional bosses and a good RPG to boot, mountains of loot too.

Game 10: A Bird Story - 1 hour
Very boring, but short what makes it bearable.

Game 11: Loot Hunter - 24 hours
A pirate sim with comboless match three combat, a very enjoyable little game.

Game 12: Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride - 11 hours
yet another Artifex Mundi adventure game, this one longish and really good.

Game 13: Kairo - 8 hours
This is probably a weirdest game ever, after seeing the secret ending I'm done with it. And that ending was not what I expected at all, I'm not even sure it is possible to expect it.

Game 14: Runespell: Overture - 15.4 hours
The poker battle game, no not a real poker, it's more like Puzzle Quest but with poker hands based game for battles. It was OK, not particularly good but not that bad either. Unfortunately it ends with a cliffhanger and sequel was never made.

Game 15: Bionic Heart - 8 hours
Cyberpunk VN, I expected it to be better..., but getting all ending was interesting somewhat.

Game 16: 9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek - 6 hours
Not much to say, better avoid this one.

Game 17: Time Mysteries: The Final Enigma - 6 hours
Time travel and match three is in, not a bad game all around.

Game 18: Shan Gui - 2 hours
This VN is not really my type of a game, I prefer choice based games, but it wasn't that bad and really short.

Game 19: Heileen 1: Sail Away - 3.5 hours
This VN is bad, really bad, only redeeming quality was idea of quests.

Game 20: Alchemy Mysteries: Prague Legends - 7 hours
Expected it to be a game about alchemy, adventure one, instead it was more of a hidden object and puzzle game, not a bad one, though.

Game 21: Tales of the Orient: The Rising Sun - 17 hours
liked it a lot, from artstyle to music to gameplay. Played it inbetween other games or when tired.

Game 22: Long Live The Queen - 38 hours
That's my full playtime, and I only was playing for an expansion that was added recently this time, that would be 5-6 hours or so. Finished it too. One of the best VNs ever our little queen is.

Game 23: Without Within - 0.4 hours
A free VN, very short one, but not bad for a free game.

Game 24: Unium - 6 hours
That was one nice puzzle game.

Game 25: Atelier Shallie - ~150 hours
That long took to go through both storylines and 100%-ing a game. It was a good game, even if not without flaws.
What took so long is actually one of those flaws, I was really unlucky with drops, as rare properties can only be acquired by killing several bosses over and over again.

Game 26: Make it indie! - ~20 minutes
20 horribly boring minutes and it crashes sometimes.

Game 27: Three Fourths Home: Extended Edition - ~1 hour
Another horribly boring "game".

Game 28: Nightmares from the Deep 3: Davy Jones - 10 hours
yet another good Artifex Mundi game.

Game 29: Zuma's Revenge - 11 hours
I decided to replay Zuma's Revenge and that was a mistake. After I couldn't ace even easy challenges in 11 hours, I understood that there is no way back, I'm done with Zuma forever.

Game 30: Princess Battles - 6 hours
It's a VN-card game which I liked a lot, I finished it and 100%, unfortunately some achievements are bugged, so if these ever get fixed I'll get back to it.

Game 31: One Manga Day - ~1 hour
This isn't a good VN, nonetheless I had fun with it, and it being free, not going even to complain.

Game 32: Lucid - 11 hours
A nice puzzle game. Getting last achievement took too much work and effort.

Game 33: Narcissu 1st & 2nd - 9 hours
For a free VN it is amazing, unfortunately no choices or any other gameplay, but taking into account story told, that's understandable.

Game 34: Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek - 9 hours
Didn't like this one much, but finished somehow.

Game 35: Higurashi When They Cry - Ch.1 Onikakushi - ~10 hours
That was time well spent, to say the least. It's great and new character art makes it much more pleasant to read.

Game 36: Always The Same Blue Sky... - ~2 hours
It was not that a bad VN, choices based, backgrounds were nice too.

Game 37: Pixel Puzzles: UndeadZ - 12 hours
I was about to drop it several times, but finally finished, not a fan.

Game 38: An Octave Higher - 14 hours
A very nice VN with classical music and branching story.

Game 39: Tengami - ~1.5 hour
The original and short puzzle game.

Game 40: Combat Cats - 3 hours
Fun swap 1 for four ship combat game with cats. It has story and survival mode, I probably will play some survival mode still, but I finished story mode and had taste of survival already.

Game 41: Dark Arcana: The Carnival - 8 hours
one more good Artifex Mundi game, variety of puzzles was nice and I liked Monaco.

Game 42: TransPlan - 2 hours
Nice little physics based puzzle game that not only doesn't overstate its welcome but lets you to find unconventional solutions.

Game 43: Qora - 4 hours
Good but somewhat slow adventure game.

Game 44: Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos - 4 hours
Very good VN, it is the first chapter, unfortunately there will be no continuation.

Game 45: AdVenture Capitalist - 13 hours
It's an f2p idle game, first I was addicted to it, now I'm healed, not sure it has an ending as such, I call it now.

Game 46: Castaway Paradise - 41 hours
Something a little like Animal Crossing, at first I thought 100%-ing it, but I got bored, leveling is extremely slow, for a game having hundreds of items everything is way too expensive to bother. I did almost everything what is for doing in a game though, so I consider it very finished.

Game 47: Loot Hero DX - 9 hours
I''m not entirely sure what this game is, it's very fast and fun at start but soon becomes way too grindy, I decided forgo the last achievement even if I'm close to it, it just became too boring and not fun.

Game 48: Super Star Path - 3 hours
It's puzzle-shmup which I tried to like very hard, but getting through many stages and then dying in the boss fight every single time, rinse and repeat, convinced me that it's probably not for me. As I've played through many stages (without killing bosses) I consider this game finished.

Game 49: The Wonderful End of the World - 2 hours
I wanted to play something like Katamari, this game seemed to be the match, but it's not very good, I liked it well enough to play through all stages, except one that requires to finish all other stages with the best rank, which I decided I don't wanna do, not fond of controls to put it mildly.

Game 50: Clicker Heroes - 136 hours
It is an evil idle clicker game which I was addicted to. I finally got over it, and how it goes with such games, that is the end of a game.

Game 51: Two Digits - 7 hours
After playing this game I'm sure that making sums is one of worst ideas for a game, if you are good at it, it gets boring fast, if bad it even starts as boring and remains so, it just can't win.

Game 52: Sword of Asumi - 6 hours
A VN that I'm not entire sure it's so bad that it's almost good or just not bad enough to be dropped immediately. 100%-ed it, but I wouldn't do that again.

Game 53: Blue Rose - 10 hours
This VN was better than I thought it is, it's not particularly great, but not bad either.

Game 54: Battle for Blood - Epic battles within 30 seconds! - 15 hours
Call me general please.

Game 55: The chronicles of Emerland. Solitaire. - 27 hours
It was my an untiheat game, it's nice to have games that doesn't make you sweat extra.

Game 56: Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey Remastered - 29 hours
It was fun even second time, only new addition - Endless mode did nothing to me, story mode is way better.

Game 57: Fairy Fencer F - 106 hours
It's a good and fun game, nice combat, not bad characters and story, quite funny at times, not too long too, but ingame challenges and some achievements were very cruel and unfair.

Game 58: Spandex Force: Champion Rising - 6 hours
Superhero comedy game, I would have liked it, but time limits and nothing carrying to later playthroughs kills all replayability this game could have for me. Also resolution is ridiculously low for this day and age.

Game 59: Hook - ~1 hour
Short and simple yet good puzzle game.

Game 60: Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden - 27 hours
There is no genre that can describe this game. Closest I came up with is a weird alchemic garden simulator. I liked it.

Game 61: Hero of the Kingdom II - 13 hours
Just more of Hero of the Kingdom what was welcome in this case. I really like how this game looks, so cozy.

Game 62: Chime - 6 hours
It sorta like Tetris or Lumines but can't replace any of those, not good enough.

Game 63: Legends of Solitaire: Curse of the Dragons - 16 hours
At first I was going to play this until cards drop, but it's a nice Solitaire, so I finished it.

Game 64: Contradiction - Spot The Liar! - ~5 hours
Live action murder mystery game, not bad, only too many things were left unresolved for this kind of game.

Game 65: The Plan - ~5-10 minutes
I don't know what that was and what was the plan.

Game 66: Tap Heroes - 15 hours
As a name implies it's a clicker game but not free to play, no microtransactions too, there are some nice ideas in it, but overall it was boring.

Game 67: Time Clickers - 73 hours
Getting rid of clickers one at the time. This one got hella boring and slow after an update, the best thing about it was advancing speed.

Game 68: The Dreamatorium of Dr. Magnus 2 - 6 hours
It's more puzzle than hidden object adventure game, it was OK.

Game 69: The Royal Trap - 12 hours
A very enjoyable VN, well worth the time and money spent.

Game 70: Paint it Back - 44 hours
Picross!

Game 71: Pretty Girls Mahjong Solitaire - 9 hours
meh

Game 72: Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland - 100+ hours
I wasn't really paying attention to the timer, but for 100% I've played a game three times, two times overtime, so it has to be over 100 hours. Very nice improvement over original Rorona.

Im leaving GAF for a year on thursday, but it might be a good idea do do a write up on all the games I intend to complete over the coming year. Honestly, I think ill manage more than 52.

Let me take a look and decide tomorrow.

All games on PS4 unless otherwise noted. I'll be writing monthly review posts and linking them here.

Is "completed" generally regarded as merely beating the game (i.e. see credits or something) or 100% it (i.e. completed in backloggery terms)?

Got to 40 or so last time before I lost interest..let's see if I can stick with it this time..

Game 1: Lords of the Fallen - 16 Hours
Ba2GbS3.png

# Including extra time on other characters as it was a bit of a learning curve. Magic seemed to be the game changer, after getting stuck on those stupid giant knights who'd block everything, they became a joke when I realized my level 3 stab 1 shots them. I bought this simply because of how much I enjoyed Dark Souls 1&2, and while I never expected this to be as challenging, it was disappointingly easily, save for those knights which weren't actually hard..just very slow to kill. Dodge frames seemed a lot more generous than in DS too, I had a very difficult time dodging in DS, so I'm almost always cowering behind a 100% block shield, but had no problem going through the entirety of LotF 2handing my weapons.

Game 2: Valkyria Chronicles - 25 Hours
klNtuzB.png

# Played this back when I had a PS3 but never finished it (I think I got sidetracked by the anime, then never felt the need to continue, which I now regret.). After playing Valkyria Chronicles 2 on my Vita last year, several plot twists were unfortunately spoiled, great game and I really wish 2 and 3 had gotten the same treatment, the fully voiced story elements and the use of 3d models really added to the experience compared to 2's visual novel style of a cycling still images and single words of dialog (Zeri's "Honestly.." line got on my nerves pretty damn quick) which would have worked great with 2's extra focus on the squad members outside the half-dozen main cast. While using certain classes a lot (Sniper and Lancer) made this run pretty smooth, I'm glad it didn't completely break like 2 and have Fencers completely steamroll entire armies, though some missions were obviously based around you not knowing what was going to happen, so after 1 attempt you could just go back to briefing and redeploy (One stood out later on with 2 massive tanks appearing and laying waste to everything in their path after a certain point..but these weren't a threat when you know where they appear and place a lancer at either end of the map and 2 shot them before they can get a shot off.). The final confrontation was a bit anti-climactic, but as a sucker for happy endings, I loved the post-credits.

Game 3:The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky - 38 Hours
GWXxfPZ.png

#
FUUUUUUUUCK...
That ending, what a cliffhanger though..Glad I didn't play this on PSP then have to wait 4+ years for the second chapter..hopefully it comes out soon..This game started off pretty slow and around the 50% mark it just starts building into one of the most interesting JRPG stories I can remember, very rare that I find an entire cast that I like..Every character was different but none were that annoying obnoxious douchebag..even the youngest member of the party was pleasant to interact with. The final boss gauntlet dragged on a little, but wasn't very difficult. Second Chapter needs to be released on Steam quickly..very quickly.

Game 4: Final Fantasy XIII - 39 Hours
WVvX8n2.png

# I played this when it was released on 360 and didn't mind it at all, but only managed to get 6-9 hours into FFXIII-2 and never touched Lightning Returns..With the release of the first 2 on PC I've decided to tough out the trilogy..I had some "meh" memories regarding this game but in the first 2-3 hours I couldn't see why..I thought some characters could have been toned down a bit, but the opening scenes were engaging and interesting..then I got to about the 8 hour mark and was thinking it was running dry..then 15 hours and it was dragging on..30+ hours I just wanted it to end..and found myself skipping through the last few cutscenes because..well..fuck it..

Game 5: The Swapper - 5-6 Hours
# Very interesting game, about 10 of the puzzles stumped me for a while, and 3 I got fed up with and looked up how to complete them..surprisingly most of these were in the middle of the game and the ending ones seemed easier. The story was interesting but felt it was a bit of a nothing ending. Solid PS+ game but wouldn't recommend it to friends to buy.

Game 6: Persona 3 FES - 77 Hours
# I can't express how much I loved this game's story, tried it last year but stopped around 100 floors in, with Persona 5 releasing later this year I decided to give it another shot and boy am I glad I did. P3 felt like a transformation, the combat system kinda grew on me, the characters started off mostly unlikeable but they were well written and actually feel like they matured through the story and the overall story felt like it had a lot more weight to it than P4, the feeling of this game and how the background characters changed with the story really gave it a good atmosphere that they seemed to try to do at the end of P4, but didn't get quite right. Can't recommend this game enough.

Game 7: There Came An Echo - 4 Hours
# Despite a few quirks and issues with controls, I thoroughly enjoyed this game, the voice acting and writing seemed natural and well written, though I would have loved it to be longer and more fleshed out as some parts seemed a bit rushed.

Game 8: Xenoblade Chronicles - 65 Hours
# Between Xenoblade Chronicles, Persona 3, LoH TiTS and Valkyria Chronicles I think I'm choosing the wrong types of games for this event..but god damn am I loving it. The combat system took a while to get used to and I used Sharla as a crutch through most of the game and wasn't until the last stretch that I figured out how powerful 1 tank and 2 damage dealers could be, especially in boss fights. Aside from a few annoying moments with Riki and Reyn, the characters and story in Xenoblade Chronicles was great, a lot of twists and turns (most pretty predictable, but still interesting) and one of the few RPGs in recent memory where I actually rotated my party members. I missed out on a LOT of heart-to-hearts and side quests, but at 65 hours for what I played, I don't think I would've finished it if it were another 30hours long. The game as a whole was very well rounded and would recommend to anyone who liked RPGs..Now to wait for Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Game 9: Life Is Strange (Episode 1) - 2 Hours
# Found this to be very interesting, the writing and voice acting was pretty good aside from a couple of lines (The Gollum imitation/Hella/etc), can't wait to see where the story goes.

Game 10: Yakuza 3 - 18 Hours
# With Yakuza 4 now available from PS+ and Yakuza 5 on the way, I NEEDED to play this and it didn't let me down. Great mix of cool action, ridiculous humor and drama. I might have to up the difficulty on 4 as I steamrolled through Normal, barely using any items. These games seem to have this special little charm about them that makes the simple combat and weirdly long cutscenes enjoyable.

Game 11: OlliOlli 2 - 2 Hours
# I enjoyed the first couple of levels of this but it soon became tiresome, but I decided to try and power through it..then I got to the Cowboy section and my eyes were having a bit of trouble following with the background and floor a similar colour and the train moving along with you in the background..then got to the carnival level..blue and neon pink and things started to blur together..then the final stages..light neon blue and neon green...Fuck you Roll7 is all I have to say now as I type this with a bad headache..

Game 12: Infamous: First Light - 4 Hours
# Really enjoyed Second Son and this was more of the same, SS is my only platinum at the moment and I'll likely come back to First Light for my next, I have to say I was disappointed by the ending, atleast in terms of gameplay..Fetch's whole deal is moving quickly, to have a sizable chunk of the final stage be her moving at a normal person's pace just felt limp. Also..
How the hell did Shane survive a direct hit from an attack that blew a whole through concrete walls? Plot armour?

Game 13: Flower - 3 Hours
# I liked this for the first hour or so, but that faded pretty quickly, I've never been a fan of these kinds of motion controls, twisting the controller/remote in circles in your hands like my mother trying to play Mario Kart..Possibly the most obnoxious credits I've ever seen..

Game 14: Demon's Souls - 18 Hours
# The atmosphere and art design in this game is amazing, and there really was something lost between Demon's and Dark, but I feel I ruined this for myself because despite going in mostly blind, 2 Dark Souls games made it so I could figure out how to approach areas and bosses that made several fights trivial. I'll have to replay this a few times as I know I missed a lot of things (Didn't see half of the NPCs from the loading screens) and never killed either of the Dragons flying around.\

Game 15: Legend of Dragoon - 45 Hours
# I had a lot of fond memories of LoD..but I just couldn't get into it like I did as a kid, characters were all pretty bland, the setting generic, the story predictable, mechanics were clunky and menus terrible. Getting to the Law City caused me to take a 2 month break and actually groaned loading it back up and realizing where I was.

Game 16: Valiant Hearts - 7 Hours
# Loved this little gem, I'd heard there were a lot of bugs but saw none personally, wasn't a fan of the car segments but other than that this was fantastic, fully expected
the dog to die (happy to be wrong) but was surprisingly upset over Emile's end
, no manly tears were wept, but there were definitely feels being had.

Game 17: CounterSpy - 4 Hours
# Another PS+ title I held off playing for no good reason, also turned out to be great..Loved the style and other than a couple of control issues and a single bug (My Spy just stood there in a T-Pose at the start of 1 mission, couldn't move but could change weapons) it was solid. Screwed up my first run and got DEFCON 1 on both sides pretty early and decided to restart, happily surprised that all my weapons carried over.

Game 18: FlOw - 2 Hours
# Like Flower, I was very underwhelmed..controls in this just felt terrible but I got used to it 3 or 4 forms in..Avoiding the other creatures sucked and it was much more fun being the predator (the dashing fish and the homing dash..er..thing..)Just like Flower the credits irritated me and despite knowing there was a trophy for getting them all, I just said "fuck you" as I went immediately to the red food to continue each time.

Game 19: Bloodborne - 41 Hours
# Holy shit, I love this game. Screwed up my build the first run through at 27 hours so decided to start over, spending more time on character creation, though I could probably go back quite easily and finish it with the first character now. As usual after learning the tricks each boss is pretty easy, but the art direction, sounds, enemy designs gameplay are all near perfect. Stabilize the framerate and reduce the load times and I'd say this game would be a 10/10. "Final" boss
was awesome while the secret boss was a let down, died first time thanks to having only 4 vials left over, with 24 it was a joke.

Game 20: Tales of Xillia - 29 Hours
# After a couple of weeks of pretty much nothing but Bloodborne and Resident Evil, I needed a colourful, fun/stupid romp through a fantasy world. I'd heard a lot of negativity about the writing, but since I didn't go in expecting a deep story or well written characters, I really enjoyed it.

What time is it?
Think I hit 29 games last year, don't think I'll ever get to 52. First time poster in these threads so I'll reserve this spot.

Not sure what is next.

1. Escape Goat 2 (PS4) - ~6 hours (1/1/15)
Neat little puzzle platformer with a wonderful soundtrack.

2. The Fall (PC) - ~3 hours (1/2/15)
Picked this up during the Steam Christmas Sale because of the love it got during GiantBomb's GOTY podcasts which also spoiled the ending. Can't really say I'm a fan of the puzzles or shooting mechanics. It has a solid story but knowing the ending left me without a "wow" moment.

3. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (Vita) - ~15 hours (1/3/15)
Enjoyable for the most part with the exception of a few of the trial mini-games. Looking forward to playing the second game but I'll probably wait a bit so I don't get burnt out.

4. inFAMOUS: First Light (PS4) - ~4 hous (1/6/15)
Not a huge fan of the inFAMOUS games but this one is bite sized enough that I didn't lose interest. Sure is pretty.

5. Attack of the Friday Monsters! - ~3 hours (1/7/15)
My new Shure ear buds came in today so I tested it out with this game. Cute little story. (1/7/15 ~ 3 hours)

6. Far Cry 4 (PS4) - ~30 Hours (1/15/15)
I hate OCD. I collected every last item in this game. It wasn't eve all that entertaining as it felt more like a procedurally generated world that one that was hand crafted. Glad this one is behind me. (1/15/15 ~30 hours)

7. Curse of Naxxramas (IOS) - ~4 Hours (1/17/15)
Finished up all the Heroic bosses today. Not a lot of fun was had.

8. The Talos Principle (PC) - ~12 Hours (1/18/15)
This is such a great title. I'd rank it right after the original Portal as far as the puzzle designs are concerned. It might not have the same production values as the Portal series but it is not without its' charms (terminal interactions). Everyone should give this game a whirl.

9. Ys: The Oath in Felghana (PSP via Vita TV) ~15 Hours
My first Ys game and I have mixed feelings. Love the music, pace of the fighting and the boss battles. Hate, hate, hate the platforming. RPG elements are on the light side and it feels more like a Zelda styled adventure game.

10. Resident Evil Remake HD (PS4) ~13 Hours (1/22/15)
I'm pretty sure this is my first time completing Resident Evil. A bunch of friends rented the game when I was in college but we had no memory card so we just passed the controller around every time someone died. Really enjoyed my time with the Remake. You do feel a little overpowered towards the end of the game which sucks away the tension but that's really my only complaint. I miss classic Resident Evil.

11. Spelunky (PS4) ~More hours than I can count (1/23/15)
Simple Olmec clear.

12. Framed (IOS) ~1 Hour (1/25/15)
Neat puzzle game with some tweaks that take the idea further than you'd imagine.

13. Kingdom Rush: Frontiers HD (IOS) ~10 Hours (1/26/15)
On a bit of an iPad gaming kick of late. It's more Kingdom Rush which isn't a bad thing, especially if you have a tower defense itch to scratch.

14. Grim Fandango Remastered (PS4) ~12 Hours (1/29/15)
First time playing Grim Fandango though I own a physical copy somewhere. It's a wonderful game with great writing and atmosphere. I really liked the puzzles and only once did I feel the game was cheating it's own logic. I've seen people comment on the difficulty so I guess growing up on Sierra's adventure games toughened me up. The remaster is really buggy. I had numerous crashes. The new visuals are solid for the most part though I think it was a tad dark at times which was a determent to a puzzle or two.

15. Dying Light (PS4) ~15 Hours (01/31/15)
Not a lot of nice things to say about this one. It features terrible characters and story, drab visuals and I'm really not a fan of the combat which quickly becomes tedious. To be fair, I've never really loved first person melee combat. I completed all of the missions in the first area and then just mainlined the story. The ending boss encounter is awful (
QTEs
). Glad I didn't pay much for this game.

16. Life Is Strange - Episode 1: Chrysalis (PC) ~3 Hours (2/1/15)
Love the visuals and the story is intriguing. Not a fan of the character dialog.

17. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4 ~2 Hours (2/8/15)
Did a quick replay of the main mission.

18. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (PS4) - ~8 hours (3/11/15)
Disappointing sequel but still fun and has recapture the style of the original. Really strong soundtrack too.

19. Metro 2033 Redux (PS4) - ~12 hours (3/21/15)
Some great moments (stealth against human opponents, some low moments (almost anytime dealing with the monsters in the game) and some frustrating moments (first person platforming or the tougher monsters towards the end of the game). I played Last Light last year on PS3 and was thinking about replaying but 2033 reminded me of why I loved and disliked Last Light.

20. Metal Slug 3 (PS4) ~2 Hours (3/24/15)
It's as great as we all remember and I'm as awful as I've always been.

21. Ori and the Blind Forest (PC) - ~11 Hours (3/28/15)
Superb visuals, charming story and tight controls. I'm not a fan of the combat and the
escape sequences
made me want to pull my hair out.

22. Life Is Strange - Episode 2: Out of Time (PC) ~3 Hours (3/28/15)
The more I play, the less I'm enjoying this. The underlying story is still fairly interesting but the puzzles are weak and the dialog feels so ham-fisted. They really need to pickup the pace of the main narrative.

23. Axiom Verge (PS4) ~14 Hours (4/3/15)
It scratches the Metroid-style exploration itch but this is another game that I was really anticipating that didn't live up to the hype that I'd built in my head.

24. Bloodborne (PS4) ~40 hours (4/5/15)
Probably my favorite game this year to this point. It's a little paired down compared to the other souls games (I miss shields) and there are some odd design decision (limiting maximum number of bullets and blood vials in storage) but I don't have a lot of complaints otherwise.

25. Forza Horizon 2 Presents - Fast & Furious (XOne) ~3 Hours (4/7/15)
Can't believe how much content they give you for free. I had a really good time with this but I think it's satisfied my racing itch for now. I'll probably pick up the full version at some point.

26. Never Alone (PS4) ~3 hours (4/8/15)
Terribly average but I really liked the story.

27. Toukiden: Kiwami (PS4) ~25 hours (4/11/15)
Doesn't seem to have the variety, depth or challenge of Monster Hunter but I still had a pretty good time.

28. Mortal Kombat X (PS4) ~4 Hours (4/14/15)
A little shorter than the story mode in Mortal Kombat 9 and the QTEs are lame but it was still a fun ride. On the the challenge towers!

29. Box Boy (3DS) ~7.5 Hours (4/15/15)
Such a wonderful puzzler. A little light on the challenge with exception of some of the bonus levels front but you can't beat the price.

30. D4: Dark Dreams Never Die (XOne) ~4 Hours (4/24/15)
Loved the quirk and story but I don't have a Kinect so playing it was kind of a bummer.

31. Broken Age: Act 2 - PC ~7 Hours (4/28/2015)
A step down as far as puzzles go and a lot of repeated environments/characters from Act 2 left me disappointed. Still love the characters, story and dialog

32. Race the Sun (PS4) ~2 Hours (5/5/2015)
Reached level 25. Feels like an old mobile game being an endless runner with the 3 random challenges to level up mechanic. Can't say I have much desire to keep playing.

33. Guilty Gear X4d -SIGN- (PS4) ~6 Hours (5/17/15)
Beat arcade mode with a few characters. Pretty but not my cup of tea.

34. Witcher 3 (PS4) ~30 Hours (6/06/15)
Going to cheat here as I5didn't finish the game. I'd finished exploring all the areas in the 3rd area when the game decided to erase all my money. I can't take anymore this unpolished game. Some of my anger subsided and I finished the game. Drags on towards the end and the combat is never anything but serviceable.

35. Super Mega Baseball (PS4) ~20 Hours (06/10/15)
Picked this up on the PSN sale and wrapped up a "long" season. It reminds me a lot of the NES baseballs games of my youth and being a lapsed MLB fan, the lack of a license doesn't bother mother. It's pretty no frills from a presentation standpoint but makes up for it in the rock solid game play. Highly recommended.

36. Splatoon (Wii U) ~7 Hours (06/20/15)
Surprisingly solid single player with some really good bosses. My favorite credit sequence since that Street Fighter game on PS2 that let you beat up baddies while the credits rolled.

37. Her Story (iOS) ~2 Hours (06/26/15)
Interesting concept and wonderful acting. Simplistic mechanics that would have been better served with more functionality.

38. Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4) ~20 Hours (7/3/15)
As the Batman game worlds get larger, I find myself liking them less and less. Way too much Batmobile.

39. Rocket League (PS4) ~3 Hours (7/7/15)
Completed a single season. Amazingly fun game that will have long legs because of the online.

40. Jamestown+ (PS4) ~2 Hours (7/19/15)
Fun little bullethell with amazing music.

41. Bulletstorm (PS3) ~5 Hours (7/24/15)
Game ending glitch stopped me from finishing it but this is a replay so I'm counting it. Love the shotgun.

42. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (PS4) ~5 Hours (8/8/15)
Not nearly as enjoyable as Gaurdian of Light and the performance was kind of crummy.

43. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture (PS4) ~3 Hours (8/11/15)
Another disappointment. The world is lovely but the interactions are minimal and walking speed is way too slow considering the size of the environment. The story was interesting enough.

44. Journey (PS4) ~2 Hours (8/17/15)
Not my first rodeo with this game and it is as charming as ever.

45. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4) ~80 Hours (9/16/15)
I love Peace Walker and this feels like the evolution. Chapter 1 was great, Chapter 2 not so much. Terrible voice acting and story really hurts the series send off. Still had a great time with the Fulton System.

46. Unmechanical (PS4) ~3 Hours (10/13/15)
Neat little physics puzzle game that doesn't overstay its' welcome. Some performance issues towards the end.

47. Bloodborne (PS4) ~30 Hours (10/16/15)
Second play through to build a character prior to the release of the expansion.

48. Transformers Devastation (PS4) ~8 Hours (10/16/15)
Super fun and brought back some found childhood memories. You can tell this was made on a budget due to the lack of environments but everything else is just about right.

49. Dragon Quest Heroes (PS4) ~23 Hours (10/20/15)
The first Musou styled game I've ever completed. It's super repetitive but all the Dragon Quest trappings are charming and the bosses are at least interesting.

50. Resident Evil Revelations 2 (PS4) ~12 Hours (10/29/15)
Awful campaign which is slightly salvaged by the Raid Mode. Really disappointed in this title.

51. Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls (PS4) ~30 Hours (11/07/15)
Finished up the campaign/getting to level 70 with my Barb.

52. Fallout 4 (PS4) ~60 Hours (11/21/15)
Finished on Survival Difficulty. My thoughts are mostly middling or negative. I still enjoy the exploration and character building but everything surrounding that is lacking.

53 - Mushihimesama (PC) ~1 Hours (11/25/15)
Holy Shit!

54 - Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC (PS4) ~10 Hours (11/29/15)
Got all the trophies. It's a neat little package that adds a lot of weapons that should be fun to tinker with.

55 - Kings Quest: Chapter 1 - A Knight To Remember (PS4) ~6 Hours (12/02/15)
Pretty disappointed outside of the cliffhanger ending and some of the voice work. The menus are really ugly, the puzzles are dull and why do we need QTEs?

56 - Life Is Strange Ep1-5 (PS4) ~12 Hours (12/12/15)
Gave this a second chance after pricking it up on sales via PSN. I liked the ending a lot but something still feels off about the dialog, it is a tad predictable and most of the characters didn't click with me. I love and hate the rewind mechanic. It's solid entry into this style of adventure game.

57 - Undertale (PC) ~ 6 Hours (12/26/15)
Super charming.

Author's note: My personal goal this year is to clear through as many PS Plus games as I can so I can get my money's worth out of my sub; hence my playtime will be divided equally between the Plus backlog, the retail/downloadable game backlog, and new titles.

My personal ground rules:

1. If I own all episodes of an episodic game when I start playing, then beating them all counts as just one game.

If I own just the one episode (ex. Game of Thrones, Republique) then that counts as one game by itself... But subsequently buying and finishing more episodes (if I liked the first) will not add to my completed game count.

2. Games finished in 2015 all count, regardless of when I started them. This is supposed to be backloggery!

3. No "re-finishing" any short games I've already beaten for purposes of padding my stats, unless i'm revisiting the game for Platinum run.

Progress as of 4/2/15: 34 games completed, versus initial target of 52

4/1/15: As expected, Bloodborne has done a number on my progress. Will try to hammer out a bunch of games this weekend to keep the queue moving.

Game 1: The Wolf Among Us (PSV)- 10 to 12 hours (Plat)
Finished 1/02/15
Im new to the Fables universe, so everything in this game was fresh to me. Game had a lot of slow points but really picked up near the end, one of the best final episodes of any Telltale game i've played to date. 2 hours of payoff!

Game 2: Far Cry 4 (PS4) - 26 hours
Finished 1/04/15
Just beat the last stage, and am running through a couple more trophies to get the Plat. As a non-American, i gotta say that I enjoyed playing as White Man Savior Jason Brody in Far Cry 3 more than I did Ajay Ghale (i.e. I got to live out that 1%er experience). But in pure gameplay terms, FC4 has it all over the third game. I demand more games with rideable elephants.

Game 3: Game of Thrones Episode 1: Iron from Ice (Android) - 1 1/2 hours
Finished 1/05/15
I like GoT, but have mostly read the books and have barely watched the show (like the first few episodes of Season 1). Decided to buy GoT Ep1 off the Play Store to see if it would still appeal to me despite that - seems the answer is yes! NOTE: I will be picking up the retail version for PS4 or Vita whenever it releases - the Droid version crashed on me thrice.

Game 4: Playstation All Stars Battle Royale (PS3) - 3 hours
Finished 1/11/15
I bought this game on Vita and hated it... Couldnt get myself to try for the Plat despite requirements being pretty easy. Downloaded the free Plus version for PS3 to see if the experience would improve using a DS3 and a big ass screen (and to get more easy trophies to ding)...

Nope, still shit. Finished with Nariko, got a few miscellaneous trophies, turned off the console to prevent myself from puking.

Game 5: Woah Dave! (PSV) - 3 hours (game is endless)
Finished 1/11/15
On paper this isnt the greatest game in the world, and the mechanics get pretty old fast. However, for the three hours I played it, i couldnt put it down. Cleaned up all the miscellaneous trophies and unlocked hard mode, then gave it a rest. A decent score attack game with NES-era graphics.

Game 6: Gunman Clive (3DS): 56 minutes
Finished 1/11/15
Despite having an incredibly short running time of less than an hour (at least according to the 3DS activity log), I really enjoyed my time with Gunman Clive. It starts off as a bog-standard platformer (think Sunset Riders, with pencil drawn graphics) but soon takes a life of its own. Obvious paeans to Mega Man games abound (in both gameplay and musical stylings), and there's extra characters to use to encourage replay. Very happy with what I got for a dollar.

Game 7: Shatter (PS3): 5 hours (got to World 9 of 10 only)
"Finished" 1/15/15 (beat 90% of game, then ragequit and permadeleted)
I began cleaning up the pending downloaded games installed on my PS3, and reached all the way back to the 2011 batch to play Shatter. Did not enjoy this game at all, I dont appreciate the pushing/pulling mechanic you use to influence ball trajectory. IMHO the developer put too much emphasis on being able to master it as opposed to using simple Arkanoid style mechanics.

Game 8: Vanquish (PS3) - 8 hours
Finished 1/15/15
This has been sitting in the back of my PS Plus backlog, unfinished, for the longest time. Finally played all the way through... Fantastic game, will probably look for an unopened hard copy at the local game store to add it to the physical collection. Cheese aplenty, incredibly responsive control and constant balls to the wall action... IMHO, Mikami's second best game after RE4.

Game 9: Contrast (PS4) - 4 hours (100% complete, no Plat)
Finished 1/17/15
This quirky game from the PS4's inaugural PS+ lineup was a lot more entertaining to me personally that it had any right to be... Its got lots of jank in it, its short, and I have a decided distaste for puzzle platformers. But I'm a sucker for any game set during the Prohibition, and the story was told with enough verve to sit through the game's admittedly original but often tedious shadow-hopping.

Game 10: Republique Episode 1 (Android) - 2 hours
Finished 1/18/15
I decided to give this game a try because it was on sale on the Play Store for a dollar (and because developer Ryan Payton is a [Friend of 8-4]... just got around to playing it.

Did not enjoy myself, at all.

It was so frustrating knowing what I wanted to do stealth-wise but not having any idea to have the useless protagonist actually pull it off. Other times she'd walk directly into line of sight when I just wanted her to hug the wall.. smh. Very nice graphics, though, and Jennifer Hale is always a plus.

Game 11: Dead or Alive 5 (PS3) - 7 hours
Finished 1/18/15
Keeping with the theme of cleaning out pending PS3 digital titles so as to clear space for... more unplayed digital titles, I downloaded DOA5 to hype myself up for Last Round (I only ever played DOA5 on the Vita). And... hype extinguished. I probably wont be picking up LR anymore, as playing through DOA again highlighted all the things I don't like about their fighting engine. Beat the story mode, cleaned up easy trophies, deleted with a clear conscience.

Game 12: Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) - 10 hours
Finished 1/18/15
I actually played through the last 2 worlds of SML in between story mode matches of DOA5. Since the dialogue was all dreck anyway, might as well just play Mario while the cinematics blather on.

As to SML itself? It was alright, I guess. There were some intriguing mechanics here and there, but I seriously disliked the game's focus on 3D depth perception. After I beat Bowser in a rage-inducing final boss segment and saw the credits, the game tells me that I have to free Luigi by playing an alternate version of the game's first set of worlds. A nice surprise! Made it to the end of S1 and freed The Weege. After a couple levels playing as the Clearly Superior Mario Brother, lost interest and quit.

Game 13: Castle of Illusion HD (PS3) - 6 hours
Finished 1/19/15
Mopped up this remake of a Mega Drive classic real quick. Although the game was short, the temperament of the game itself is pretty hardcore, and some of the stuff in there was challenging even for a grizzled platformer veteran like myself. The last boss had 9 fricking patterns to memorize, and it's preceded by an annoying and non-skippable cinematic... smh.

Game 14: Final Fantasy Theatrhythm (3DS) - 4 hours 38 minutes
Finished 1/22/15
I didn't enjoy this as much as I hoped. I love rhythm games, and I love SNES and PSX era FF, but this game just didn't click for me. I cleared all the stages, played some several times just for fun, and cleared a bunch of Dark Notes, but just... nothing. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm not especially fond of Final Fantasies prior to VI, and consequently, their music.. and the FF's I do like have a neutered selection in-game, lacking many of my personal favorite tracks. While I'm aware that Curtain Call has a much more extensive track list than the vanilla version I played, I'm not inclined to risk doubling down on a game that I found meh.

Game 15: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd (PSV) - Around 4 hours, felt like 10
Finished 1/31/15
I hated this game with a passion. I mostly enjoyed myself with the first Project Diva, so I decided to take a punt on this since I love rhythm games... Bad move. Yet another entry in my personal "Crap game, full price" hall of shame. While the gameplay is solid and challenging as before, some of the song selections can barely be classified as music. And a rhythm game with music that makes you want to puke is... Well, you get my drift. Could only bear to beat the game on easy... I dont sell games often, but I'm getting rid of this the first chance I get.

Game 16: Titan Attacks! (PSV) - 3 1/2 hours (100% complete, no Plat)
Finished 1/31/15
I was looking to blitz this competently made Space Invaders clone just to get it out of the way, but ended up 100%ing it. Surprisingly fun in a dumb way. I would be pretty angry if I paid full price for it but as a PS Plus game it wasnt bad.

Game 17: Professor Layton VS. Phoenix Wright (3DS) - 21 hours, 58 minutes, minus around 2 hours for falling asleep with the 3DS open
Finshed 2/8/15
I forced myself to finish this just so I could say I've beaten every PW:AA game released in English. But, my God... This is a terrible, terrible game. It's like they built two separate, haphazardly made Layton and Ace Attorney titles, duct taped them together, and sealed any gaps with copious amounts of fan service. LxW has some of the dumbest puzzles I've ever seen, and I'm a big Resident Evil guy. To fans of either series who have not purchased: avoid at all costs.

Game 18: Resident Evil 4 HD (PS3) - 21 hours
Finished 2/8/15
Playing through Vanquish stoked my hunger for more non-Evil Within Mikami action, so I bought Resi 4 off the PSN sale. Rolling through this again, several thoughts came to mind:
1) RE4 is still my favorite Resident Evil ever. The gameplay holds up very well, and graphically it's aged acceptably.
2) Games from back in the day just didn't quit, did they? I'm a veteran at this (beat the game on Pro mode back on the PS2), and it still took me a long-ass time to beat, despite my having retained a lot of the muscle memory/skills. 21 hours for a single playthrough of an non-RPG, less a couple hours for when I left it on pause? Value for money, right there.

Game 19: Superfrog HD (PSV) - 5 hours
Finished 2/14/15
An HD remake of the Amiga platform "classic", essentially plays like a Sonic knockoff. Lots of gotcha deaths abound, but overall there's a lot of fun to be had here if you're a fan of platforming in general. Tight controls, and a decent amount of replayability thanks to collectibles and stuff to unlock using the slot machine. If youre considering picking this up I wouldn't recommend that you pay more than, like, 2$ though.

Game 20: Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris (PS4) - 5 hours
Finished 2/14/15
Found a cheap retail copy of this that includes the season pass, gave it a try as I liked the original Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Having just cleared it, it kind of left me empty. It's not a bad game per se, I enjoyed the puzzles. The combat on the other hand is a little broken (after I got a grenade launcher, i never switched back out), but serviceable. It's just that it's so MEH. Perhaps I would have had more fun if I played online co-op? YMMV.

Oh, and the ending was absolutely abysmal, even for a "downloadable" game.

Game 21: Doki Doki Universe (PSV) - 9-10 hours (100% complete, no Plat)
Finished 2/14/15
Finally put the finishing touches on this quirky relationship building game from the creator of Toejam and Earl for the Genesis. Essentially a game about jetting around the galaxy talking to random people and doing errands for them (insert Mass Effect joke here), this game should, on paper, be the antithesis of fun.

But it somehow is fun! Oddly relaxing despite its repetitive nature, DDU was a fun game to break out when cooling down between AAA releases. I fondly remember my girlfriend and I enjoying the game's personality quizzes while waiting in a hospital queue last year.

Game 22: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD (PS3) - 6 hours
Finished 2/15/14
Also bought in the same PSN sale as RE4, this was on my wish list for quite a while but I didnt want to buy it for 15$. It's still fun and nostalgic (hearing "Superman" and "When Worlds Collide" really brought me back), but I can't help but wish this was on PS4... the framerate on PS3 is really quite sad. Damn you, Unreal Engine!

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this game as much as I thought I would... THPS3 for PC was my jam back in the day, and the inability to do reverts in THPS HD (at least in the original levels) killed it for me. I was planning to Plat this, but couldn't get myself to play any more after clearing Marseille. Super disappointing.

Game 23: The Order: 1886 (PS4) - 10 hours (Plat)
Finished 2/21/15
I got this just in time for CNY. Blasted through it in a couple of days. And honestly? I don't really see where all the hate is coming from. Yes, it IS on the short side for an AAA game, but as a fan of steampunk/Victorian-era London settings I enjoyed The Order immensely. The guns felt punchy, and the story was fun... I personally am hoping for a sequel. Only thing I didn't like was the reuse of some boss battle elements, which felt lazy... Ready At Dawn, if you're going to sell us a short game, you have to make sure every single detail of that 8-10 hours is on point.

Caveat: YMMV greatly from mine - if you have a limited amount of money to spend on games and need them to last you a while, then this might piss you off. But if you have sufficient disposable income and accept the idea of games as entertainment, get on board this train!

Game 24: Velocity 2x (PSV) - 5 hours, 19 minutes
Finished 2/22/15
Velocity Ultra for the Vita is one of my favorite shooters of all time. So I was happy as hell that 2x was announced as a PS Plus game, given my difficulties with buying digital games (I have an Australian PSN account with very limited access to Australian PSN load - long story).

Given that it has taken me this long to finish the sequel however, it's fairly easy to guess that I was ambivalent about Futurlab's ambitious followup.

It's technically still a good game. The on foot sequences have sharp controls and have the same "feel" to them as the space shooter sequences do, if that makes sense. It's just that they piled so many different mechanics on top of the core gameplay that it just feels bloated. I didn't feel the same "just one more time" compulsion to replay levels that i did in the first game, mainly because trying to perfect levels this complicated felt more like work than play.

Game 25: Transistor (PS4) - 5 1/2 hours; will be going back for a Platinum run
Finished 2/22/15
Got this indie darling free from PS Plus, and although it felt a little clunky to begin with, I had a really good time overall. I did't think there was another way to implement a true hybrid real-time/turn-based combat system in an ARPG other than the Fallout model, and this game did so admirably. The script is a little pretentious, but overall has a lot of heart.

I now earnestly want to play Supergiant's other critical favorite, Bastion. Edit: and it's coming out for PS4 soon! Thank you Sony!

Game 26: Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey (PSV) - 14 hours (Plat)
Finished 3/1/15
A friend loaned this to me knowing I have a weakness for Lego platformers, which I really get into on the Vita for some reason (I have 4 Lego plats on Vita versus none on PS3/PS4.

Having beaten it, I gotta say, I enjoyed this a helluva lot more than I thought I would. Despite the lack of any recognizable characters, the level design is excellent - I thought I had seen it all after beating the came, but stumbled across several surprisingly expansive new areas in the process of trophy cleanup. Framerate is rock solid as well. Worth a look if you like the Lego games and fancy an easy Platinum.

Game 27: Dead or Alive 5: Last Round (PS4) - Played around 8-9 hours
Finished 3/8/15
I know I said I wouldn't buy it. Shaddap.

And I'm glad I did! At the price they're selling it for, DOA5 Last Round was well worth it. Runs at a very stable 1080p 60fps, comes with all the DLC characters plus two more, and comes filled with a generous (if predictably pervy) suite of previously released outfits to unlock. I've never played as the new guys myself (Marie Rose, Nyotengu, Momiji etc.) so this was a worthwhile upgrade for me... This'll tide me over nicely as my default PS4 fighter until USF4 eventually drops.

Game 28: Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4) - around 10 hours, felt longer than that
Finished 3/8/15
And at last, the very first retail PS4 game I ever bought finally falls. I finally finished this goddamn game, and I hated the overwhelming majority of it. Even back at launch, I never quite understood why people thought the graphics of KZSF were amazing - it's always looked quite plain to me. Worse - the gameplay is largely terrible: the shooting feels anemic, the enemies get by on sheer numbers instead of quality AI, and the devs did a really poor job of helping you figure out in the direction of your next objective.

I cleared the final, frustratingly tedious shooty area by desperately forcing my way into a chokepoint and camping behind a Resistance 2-style one way energy shield until everyone was dead. And just when I thought I had seen the last of this fucking game, they smack you with a stealth mission where you essentially can not be seen, just to kick you in the nuts one more time. Never again, Guerilla!

Game 29: Huniepop (PC) - 9 hours as per Steam
Finished 3/14/15
My brother got a gaming PC recently to feed his DOTA2 addiction, and I decided to dabble in some PC Master Race-ing by opening a Steam account. I picked up Huniepop upon the reccomendation of Kotaku's Mike Fahey (as his tastes generally align with mine).

I was originally uncertain about this as the art style is decidedly crap for an eroge hybrid... And I've got high standards with regards to visual design. After beating it though, I'm glad I spent the money - had a really good time! The standard gameplay is surprisingly strategic, and the "pre-coital" puzzles are a high speed, reduced difficulty version of Temple of Montezuma Blitz for PSV.

Game 30: Never Alone - Kisima Innitchuna (PC) - 3.6 hours as per Steam
Finished 3/15/15
Heard good things about Never Alone from Eurogamer; saw it in a Steam sale for 40% off and said why not? It's shortish - around the same length as Journey, but not nearly as good. Still, it's visually very well done, with some stunning set pieces, and remains a very nice game to be sure; I thoroughly enjoyed tabbing back and forth between the game and the charming documentary pieces about Eskimo tribes that unlock every so often. Solid puzzle platformer.

Game 31: Valiant Hearts (PS4) - 7 hours
Finished 3/15/15
I've always been interested in this WW1 "adventure game lite", but never got off the fence. PS Plus fixed that problem nicely!

Overall, this was a very thought provoking game. Lots of interesting trivia about the war and living conditions of people at the time. One gripe: towards the end, it can get extremely irritating, with gotcha deaths out the wazoo. Yes, the checkpoints are never too far away, but this kind of trial and error gameplay is a little passe.

Game 32: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent (PS3) - 3 hours (100%)
Finished 3/21/15

Another PSN flash sale brought in an absolute avalanche of games for just a dollar apiece. Best buys seemed to be the older Telltale catalog items, which I absolutely loaded up on.

I found PA very entertaining overall. Some of the puzzles could have used a little more variety (pathing, jigsaws, and rotating grid puzzles are reheated quite a bit, but the dialogue and story are both quite solid. Those goddamn gnomes creeped me out!

Game 33: Injustice: Gods Among Us (PS4) - 7 hours
Finished 4/1/15
I own a physical copy of (and have already beaten) this game for the PSV. Downloaded this fully intending to just see what it looks like on the PS4 and grind out some of the quicker trophies... Ended up getting roped into finishing the campaign again. The game is quite naff visually, and the controls feel weird (stiffer and less responsive than the Vita version, somehow), but despite having already seen all of the cinematics previously I found myself watching a good number of them again! I don't read comics much anymore, but I still have love for these characters, and this is a fun take on a "What If" scenario. If you like DC, worth playing even if you dislike Netherrealm fighters (edit: assuming you get it for free off Plus, like i did).

Game 34: Counterspy (PSV) - 6 hours
Finished 4/2/15
This is an amazing PS Plus game... Think Metal Gear Solid, sans the egregious dialogue, with randomly generated rooms, and in 2.5D. Its as fantastic as it sounds; its tense and enjoyable and has serious replayability. I'm seriously considering downloading the PS4 version (separate trophy list) just so I can enjoy it on a big ass screen.

And just like that, I'm out of space. Shifting to a new post now!

So that, throughout the year, everyone can update his / her list of glory (or shame).

I too have a q

Is "completed" generally regarded as merely beating the game (i.e. see credits or something) or 100% it (i.e. completed in backloggery terms)?

Whenever you're done, you're done.

Got to level 50 in Battlefield and kinda want to move on? Done.

Saw the credits? Done.

Played for a few hours and didn't like it? You decide.

Game 1: The Fall - 5 hours 4.5/5

Think The Swapper meets a twin stick shooter meets a point and click adventure game with light platformer elements thrown in. And trust me there is a reason this game was awarded best story in the recent GB awards! Can't wait for episode 2 and 3.

Game 2: Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of The Baskervilles - 4 hours 3.5/5

It's a hidden object game, but it has a decent story, decent to laughable voice acting and quite nice artwork and puzzles. Unlike the original story that implies a supernatural cause, the game takes the supernatural and goes all out with time travel, supernatural beasts etc...

Game 3: Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden - 4 Hours 2.5/5

I'm not sure what went wrong in my life that caused me to play Hidden Object games. Short, decent, poor VO, a complete ripoff of Bioshock etc...

Game 4: South Park: The Stick of Truth - 19 Hours 4/5

A love story to the show, just about every character appears at some point. A surprisingly deep tactical RPG system though once you get the hang of it, it is a little easy.

Game 5: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - 56 Hours! 4.5/5

After getting burnt out on revelations, it took me a long while to play AC again. Luckily it's a fantastic return to form. Looks beautiful, great characters, amazing world and no Derrick, though the modern day stuff is completely naff. With Edward being an outsider to the assassin's guild, the game plays much more like a pirate simulator. The ship battles are also fantastic and improve greatly on those in AC3.

Game 6: Assassin's Creed III - 43 hours 3.5/5

After reading various reviews and opinions that this was the bad one I wasn't expecting much, but in the end I really enjoyed it. A really interesting story with great characters and many ancillary things to do. I really liked the twist at the end of sequence 3 or so, never saw it coming! I also enjoyed putting together the village, really great story telling. The fast travel system is complete junk and never seemed to work properly and Conner suffers a little from Forrest Gump syndrome, always in the background at important events. That can be forgiven I suppose, he needs to be the star of the show. It did strain credulity though at times.

Game 7: The Lego Movie - Videogame (11 Hours) 3.5/5

Nice bright and shiny Lego game interspersed with footage from the actual film. Nothing particularily challenging, but good fun non the less, especially with a 6 y.o. lego freak cheering you on.

Game 8: Dirt 3 Complete Edition (21 Hours) 4/5

Recently transitioned from GFWL to Steamworks I though it was about time to have another go at it. The driving model is still great, graphics fantastic and with great variety in events. The original release had a particularly nasty DLC implementation, the game's campaign had large holes in it with buy DLC adds everywhere. Thankfully we now get the full version and all cars and tracks are available. Still suffers from the standard Codies imbalance, some trailblazing events are quite difficult at normal level, you really need to be on your game to scrape across the line, while you can win any Monaco rally with you eyes closed probably driving in reverse.

Game 9: Lego: The Lord of the Rings (20 Hours) 4/5

Probably my favourite Lego game game so far. The game uses a nice trick where it reuses actual dialogue from the films but re-purposes them for maximum comedic effect. Ever wanted to see if the Orcs at the Black Gate would fall for the pizza delivery trick and open up? They do.

Game 10: Dead Space (11 Hours) 4.5/5

Probably the 4th or 5th time I've played it, still fantastic. Actual survival horror, not action/shooters like the series became. Movement is probably overly clunky, but encounters are well designed so movement is not an issue.

Game 11: Dead Space 2 (9 Hours) 3.5/5

Ups the action quotient and moving the game off the ship provides a wider variety of environments to slaughter necros. For a game that is shorter than the first, the pacing is uneven and drags at the end.

Game 12: Dead Space 3 (17 Hours) 2/5

A Game of 3 parts, a decent start on the Moon, a fantastic middle in space and an absolutely terrible ending on a snow covered planet. The majority of the game should have taken place in space, once you make planetfall the game loses all momentum and becomes a complete grind of, "oh no something broke and you have been separated from the rest of the group" again and again. There is a new weapon construction mechanic that is decent but after a while seems like busy work along with optional side missions that I optioned out of after a while. Overly long and boring. Also terrible, terrible encounter design.

Game 13: Lego: The Hobbit (9 Hours) 3/5

Probably played a little more seriously than Rings and only covers the first two movies. Fun new mechanic where multiple Dwarfs can team up and perform unique moves. Huge open world beyond the story missions but requires huge time investment to get anywhere. On to the next one!

Game 14: Lego Batman (17 Hours) 4/5

Great old school Lego game, for the first half of the game you play as Batman and Robin with access to different suits resulting in different abilities. In the second half you replay the the stories as the villains. I probably enjoyed that part more, not sure what that says about me. As the game has no open world, there are more story missions and less filler open world crap. I'm not sure I like the direction the newer Lego games are taking.

Game 15: Castle Storm (5 Hours) 3.5/5

Classic tug-of-war type game with bags of personality. Protect your castle, destroy the oppositions. You can design your own castle but the whole process is incredibly fiddly so I resorted to the default ones.

Game 16: Star Trek (14 Hours) 2/5

Somewhere in here is a good game trying to get out. Diabolical mechanics and controls, poor blurry graphics, terrible pacing and average level and encounter design. On the plus side, the interaction between Spock and Kirk is fun and the co-op stuff works quite well. I can't help but think if more effort had been put into the design it would have resulted in a much better received game.

Game 17: Back to Bed (3 Hours) 4/5

Short beautiful puzzle game in the style of Escher. You play as a sleep guardian monster thing tasked with getting Bob, a sleepwalker, safely back to bed. Bob has a habit of turning right when he hits things so you have to place items, large apples, to make him turn and Fish to bridge gaps. There are only 30 levels and the game is not particularly difficult, but it's a great way to spend your time.

Game 18: Lego Batman 2 DC Super Heroes (13 Hours) 3.5/5

Big improvements in level design and graphics over the earlier Batman but again more filler and less story.

Game 19: Luminosity (7 Hours) 4/5

Very nice Jezzball clone. Fire lasers to subdivide the arena and capture an area. Comes with a campaign and score attack modes in 4 difficulties. Lots of different types of enemies, various ships with differing abilities and copious powerups.

Game 20: Transistor (10 Hours) 3/5

Really wanted to like it more. Fantastic tactical battle system with almost endless variation matched to a middling overly long linear story. Beautiful music and graphics, but I just felt I was getting the same experience as everyone else without any agency on my behalf.

Game 21: Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries (4 Hours) 3.5/5

Very short, but delightful 2.5D platformer. You play Red Riding Hood intent on avenging the death of your father at the hands of B.B. Woolfe. The world has a certain Dickensian motif to it and one of the later levels could be straight out of America Magee's Alice, but it's very beautifully done. The world does make it a little hard at times to see where you are going and it's full of invisible walls to force you in certain directions and stop you cutting corners where you really should be able to, but there is nothing here really difficult.

The star of the show is the writing and characters. Red is a riot, a cynical, snarky avenging angel and while short, part 2 is supposedly coming soon.

Game 22: Mass Effect (28 Hours) 4.5/5

Probably at least the 10th time I've played it, but first time in a while. Fantastic story-telling, but jeez are the mechanics janky. It was likely nostalgia that has caused me to defend them in the past, but no longer!

Game 23: Mass Effect 2 (33 Hours) 4/5

Greatly improves the mechanics, yet overly simplistic and sacrifices choice and deeper storytelling for more pew-pew.

Game 24: Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek (3/5) - 6 Hours

Very decent hidden object game from the kings of the genre Artifex Mundi. Nothing new or innovative, but nice puzzles and decent writing and voice acting. Probably at least an hour too long though.

Game 25: Mass Effect 3 (4/5) - 35 Hours

Probably enjoyed it more the second time around. While the end goes completely against the choice matters ethos of the series, Bioware are still the masters of small character moments. It was also the first time I played the taking back Omega DLC and it was probably the best DLC bioware has done for the series.

Game 26: Van Helsing III (3.5/5) - 18 Hours

This game came out too early, it's more like an early access release. There is stuff in the game that doesn't work that was working in the second game. They also reworked the 3 classes into 6 new ones and balance is shody at best. It still succeeds in storytelling, character and design, it just needed more time.

Game 27: OMG Zombies! (3.5/5) - 4 Hours

Interesting little puzzle game where you try to clear the screen of zombies by setting up chain reaction zombie explosions. Some zombies explode when hit, some shoot their guns, some run around etc... You only have very limited ammo, so careful shots are required. It is a bit of a fist punch moment when you hit the right zombie at the right time and clear the board with one shot!

Game 28: Witcher III (19/5) - Many, many hours

Masterpiece.

Game 29: Stranded (3/5) - 1.5 Hours

Very short point and click about an astronaut crash landing on a planet and trying to survive. While I would have liked a more complex experience and maybe a little more information, the payoff is decent and it will definitely make you think after finishing it.

Game 30: Walking Dead: 400 Days (3/5) - 1.5 Hours

Interesting little stories about other survivors during the timescale of Season 1 of The Walking Dead. I assume they will turn up at some point in season 2, they haven't in chapter 1 so far and that is as far as I am into S2. There are 5 short stories but while the scenarios are interesting most of the characters are not particularly likeable so hopefully they only play an ancillary role in the rest of the story.

Game 31: Wolfenstein: The New Order (4/5) - 17 Hours

Very good story heavy shooter. Great levels, great design and characters matched to only decent gunplay. BJ always feels a little slower than he should and bullet sponges abound. Oh how I wish designers could come up with something more interesting than bullet sponges. I'm looking at you Farcry 3.

Game 32: Shadows of Mordor (3.5/5) - 30 Hours

Someone described it in another thread as Checklist: The Game and it is. It's like the game was solely designed by middle management. The characters are uninspired apart from maybe the dwarf, the design average and writing poor. BUT! The nemesis system is fantastic, saves the game and should be a pre-requisite from now on in all game design. The game also gets stupidly easy after a while though the DLC, so far, does take away some of the instant win tools.

Game 33: Lego Star Wars Saga (4/5) - 17 Hours

Nice old school Lego game where you play through all six movies. An amalgamation of 2 games, the design difference between the original and prequel movies is obvious with the prequel ones being pretty basic but all the charm of traditional lego games is present and accounted for.

Game 34: Transplan (4/5) - 2 Hours

Great little puzzle game in the vein of Inside the Gear, but not crap. The idea is to move an object from A -> B using the various objects in the field to swing it, catapult it, hit it, drop it etc... You only have 2 tools to play with, drawing pins to keep elements in place or allow them to pivot around a certain point and an eraser to remove elements altogether so they don't get in the way. It's pretty short and not particularly difficult, but still rewarding in a Rube Goldburg'ingen kind of way!

Game 35: Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars (3/5) - 9 Hours

Short and decent Lego game. Lacks the charm of earlier ones but still has some great level design. Too many base building levels though.

Game 36: Watch_Dogs (3/5) - 28 Hours

Pretty meh really. Boring characters apart from maybe T-bone, sterile design and nonsense story. The hacking on the fly is really well done but most of the other elements are just boring. The game also runs like complete dogshit for no reason and is full of bugs. Potential for a 2nd, but they really need to find a more interesting direction.

37. Dragon Age Inquisition (102 Hours)

38. Lifeless Planet (4 Hours)

39. Motorama (5 Hours)

40, XCOM: Enemy Within (34 Hours)

41, The Darkness II (7 Hours)

42. Hook (1 Hour)

43. Divinity: Original Sin (61 Hours)

44. State of Decay (18 Hours)

45. Shadowrun: Hong Kong (27 Hours)

46. Warhammer: Space Marine (9 Hours)

47. Letter Quest Grimm: Remastered (15 Hours)

48. Mad Max (62 Hours)

49. Assassin's Creed: Rogue (32 Hours)

50. Collisions (1 Hour)

51. Grey Cubes (2 Hours)

52. Tales from the Borderlands (13 Hours)

Claming a post.

1. Splinter Cell: Conviction. 4 hours. Decent game though hampered by a sever lack of checkpoints and clunky controls. 5/10

2. Valiant Hearts: The Great War. 7 Hours Cute little game. Though it starts to drag on in the middle it is well worth it. 9/10

3. Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. 16 Hours. This game was a chore to play through. Boring repetitive combat, rubber banding in difficulty, forgettable story. 5/10

4. Far Cry 4. 13 Hours. A lot like Far Cry 3. Some decent set pieces, a bit of a slog at the end. 7/10

5. Battle: Los Angeles. 49 Minutes. A pretty bad FPS. Using funny looking hand drawn art as cutscenes and bad voice overs and clunky controls. Ad placement for Sony products plastered all over the place such billboards for the Green Hornet and bench as for the Sony Erickson. I remember this releasing for the Playstation Store at $14.99 a complete ripoff for a game that can be completed in one sitting. Luckly I only bought the game for $2.

UPDATE - I just completed the story of Dragon Age: Inquisition! I'm pretty happy that I managed to do it before the start of 2015, didn't expect that to be the case. Took me 70 hours and 11 minutes.

As ive said before, im not going to be here past tomorrow night to update my post, but i am going to be making notes about some of these games to discuss upon my return.

Game - date finished (dd/mm/yy)
--------------------------------------------

1 - Wipeout 2048 (Vita) - 04/01/15 (Story)
Great game for people who enjoy arcade racers and a must have for all the wipeout fans.

2 - The Witcher 2 (PC) - 09/01/15 (Story)
This game is form 2011 and even now looks really amazing. Apart of the gorgeous graphics it have a very nice story line and the combat is not bad. The game overall feels very good, even the support that the company give is excellent, but for being perfect just need to be a little more polished in the gameplay. Very recommendable for anyone who doesn't hate fantasy literature.

3 - Dragon's Crown (Vita) - Not finished (4:30h played)
This kind of game isn´t for me, my error to don't know it earlier. In fact I enjoyed a lot the graphics as like I do it with the Muramasa, the story is meh but acceptable and I think the gameplay is also good for the people who like the beat 'em ups style games but right now I just can't play more with this game. I am after beating the first boss from the second path, It´s supposed that I have to get some scrolls or so for fight the final boss and you get them if you beat the minor bosses before some certain time. I got bored.
I would recommend this game to people who enjoyed beat 'em ups like Muramasa.

4 - Dragons Dogma (360) - 09/03/15 (Story)
Awesome, Underrated, Magic.
Maybe not perfect, some things like the black bars of the game can be kind of annoying, but no game is perfect.
For people who enjoyed from Skyrim to Dark Souls (that´s everyone?).

5 - Infamous First Light (PS4) - 22/03/15 (Story)
Beautiful game, that´s the best adjective I could give to this game. And the game knows that, for this reason it have a camera mode and the effects of the powers have a big role.
The gameplay was fun for me, but nothing more, and the story I couldn´t care less but this is not an essential thing that I want to find in a DLC. I get it with the PS+ deal so the price was really good for me. I can´t complain with this game it just gave me what I expected.
I will say it´s for people who actually enjoyed Second Son, but I´m not sure about this because I haven´t play it, it´s just a game for people who like modern like beat'em ups with an open city in the middle and appreciate good visuals.

6 - League of Legends (PC) - too much hours
League has changed, but this game is too addictive to stop. Even when the jungle is a mess, this won´t stop me and tons of people to play it almost every day. For me at least this has to change. The last thing that I done is play URF and enjoyed a lot, but as a gamer that love videogames this particular game is driving me to don't play other games. I will try to leave the game for a while, it´s just like a drug.

7 - Destiny (PS4) - 15/04/15 (Story + 5 hours of multiplayer)
This game could be so great, but ended being regular sci-fi shooter.
The story is a mess so big that sometimes even you start to think that maybe there's no story. The lore is alright and very interesting but the lack of the storytelling simply kills all the oportunities that could have. As a shooter the story is mediocre, but not bad.
I´m not very into multiplayer shooters but I can see this game has it´s core in there. I played very few matches of control, control the flag, and I had a good time.
I would recomend this game for the people who really enjoy the multiplayer shooter experience. For all the other people it's just not worth the price.

8 - GTA V (360) - 09/05/15 (Story)
Great game, in fact the only GTA that actually I finished.
It´s big, funny and diverse, not try it a lot the online, but in one of those games that let you spend a lot of time just doing side missions, that actually are pretty fun.
The main story is great, and characters are indeed the best of the series.
For me it´s a must have, and I´m sure with the PC and the mods will be double interesting.

9 - Dragon Age: Inquisition (PC) - 27/05/15 (Story and extra quests: ~74 hours)
Usually with videogames we don't remember how hard is a game to do, the time spent for programmers, designers, engineers, etc. With Dragon Age this doesn't happen, this game is really huge and hardwork comes in to the mind everytime I was playing it.
I enjoyed a lot this game, I love exploration and this game give it to you, as well as land exploration either story with the tons of books and texts Inquisition have (it may seem a contradiction hahaha).
The game is large but not boring if you love exploring new areas and dive into the world of Dragon Age. One of the bad things this game have is that some quests are fetch like, I understand that this for a lot of people can be really annoying.
Obvious must have for RPG fans, but it may be hard to follow for people who isn't into this genre.

10 - Cities: Skylines (PC) - 28/06/15 (142 hours)
Cities Skylines have everything that the moder Simcity should had. This game is a must have for all the fans of the city builder games, just countless hours of never ending fun.
Some things like traffic must be polished but it doesn't break the game.

11 - Driveclub (PS4) - 02/07/15 (Main tour + Ignition)
I really enjoyed the game, I fell very confortable with this style between arcade racer and a more real simulator. But for sure isn't for everyone. The grafics are amazing and gameplay is fun with the mini archivements inside the same race. On the other way I feel they didn´t sold me the whole game, for sure I will pay a little more for the DLC but I'm not sure which one to pick.

12 - Hearthstone (Android/iOS) - ??/??/15 (~30 hours)
Hearthstone is the best card game I found for the mobile platforms, period.
Blizzard nailed the essence of what I want in a game when I have a short time to play, still the game is online, so you don't have that freedom that maybe mobile games can have but if you have 5 minutes you can do a game.
For sure I will continue playing this game time to time.

13 - Fallout shelter (iOS) - 30/07/15 (~90 dwellers)
Fallout shelter started so well, it´s some kind of mix between a very essencial SIMs and SimTower (what a great old game), but as the hours pass the game become more and more boring, where at the ~50 dwellers you feel there's much nothing more to do. Events repeat over and over, there's no increase at the dificulty and the new rooms just give better faster resources, but nothing more.
At my point of view this game will give you no more than a month of fun.

14 - Dark Souls: Prepare to die edition (PC) - 01/08/15 (53 hours)
Dark Souls is such a beatiful and fun play. The combat is nearly perfect, one of the best combat system I could ever try, and the gameplay is challenging but rewarding, nothing is impossible to do. But some points separate this game to be a goty, the camera, just horrible, the lack of liberty, the game isn't a corridor but not much more and the lack of story, I know there's much more story but I just don't get it. The lore is very interesting but as the story doesn't tell you about that much it doesn't awake a will to know very much.
So in my opinion Dark Souls is a great "Action RPG" but the lack of RPG made this game just a great game, and not into the hall of fame of videogames. But this is just my opinion.

15 - FIFA 15 (PS4) - 14/08/15 (Offline and offline-multiplayer)
I think it's hard to review this kind of sport games when every year it´s the same or almost the same mechanics and only changes the quality of the graphics. I mean, it's a great game to play with another player, the tipical match between you and your friend are great and give tons of fun. But the single is almost every year the same, it's fun and the ultimate team also is fun, so it' a formula that works and this is good.
The problem is that I don't believe that it's far that every year the fooball fan must play 65€ for this small changes.

16 - Fez (PC) - 10/09/15 (Story: 8 hours)
This is a really good indie game, with an amazing visuals and really well thought levels. At first just seems another platfor game, then changes to a puzzle game and finally an experience.
I really will recommend this game to everybody.

17 - Pixel Dungeon (Android) - 10/09/15 (More than 10 hours)
This is another great indie game. Pixel Dungeon is a game that perfectly fits with the mobile platform, easy to play a little and you can close the application suddenly that the game will restart at where you were. But at the same time is a complex and hard game. For people who like dungeon crawlers and have mobile phone (the entire planet?).

18 - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC) - 14/10/15 (81 hours)
Just one of the best games in this generation. Almost perfect in every sense, maybe it fails with the combat and the controls of the character, but the other good points are so good that this flaws are simply almost forgotten overall. 10/10. Recommened for everyone.

I'll give this a go, consider my post claimed!

Currently playing Grand Theft Auto V (again - 30hrs or so in) and Driveclub (about 1hr).

Not a clue what I plan to play next year, but I have recently got Metro Redux, Bayonetta 2 and Super Smash Bros, so they will be played at some point!

Looking forward to seeing how everyone else gets on throughout 2015.

I'm going to try and join this year, it unlikely will happen, I'm little above 30 games finished in 2014, but I'll cheat some, I have many unfinished games, which I'll try to finish in 2015, these counts, I hope?

Also why is everybody reserving posts?

Yes they do as long as you finish them in 2015, also you can replay games you completed in the past and finish them again.

The claimed posts are later updated with the list of completed games + comments and duration.

No Marvel Heroes addiction at the moment and I'll have to manage my WoW time but I'll be able to get this one done, guaranteed!

Currently playing: Fallout 4

1: Assassin's Creed 3 - 59 hours - Steam
Finished Main Game, still have to finish The Tyranny of King Washington DLC. Game was better than I was lead to believe. The maps didn't feel as large as past AC games.

2: Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart - 6 hours - Steam
For a hidden object game, this wasn't as terrible as I expected it to be. Sound quality for the voice work was lacking though.

3: Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call - 5 hours - Steam
Continuation of the story, wasn't terrible. Sound quality seemed better.

4: Shovel Knight - 7 hours - Steam
Fun romp down memory lane. No desire to revisit on new game+ though.

5: Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of The Baskervilles - 4 hours - Steam
Another Hidden Object/Puzzle game, not as interesting as the last two played. Puzzles were harder.

6: Ori and the Blind Forest - 10 hours 45 mins - Steam
Enjoyable Metroidvania, with some issues. Can't go back to certain sections to get 100% collectibles because places become closed off, game ends and you can't go back into the world at all after credits and my biggest worry before buying, Unity Engine problems, stuttering, seems to be loading issues. Same exact issues in other Unity games I've played.

7. Halo 3 - maybe 8 hours - Xbox 360
Kinda meh, still wrestle with controlling a FPS with a controller. I'll probably never get it use to it, kinda drags the fun down a bit, having to rely on the auto aim. Story was bleh, didn't expect it to end like Halo 1, well ending sequence anyway.

8. The Last of Us Remastered - 22 Hours - PS4
It was everything I expected it to be, very enjoyable. Combat is the low point, mostly because of aiming with an analog stick is not precise enough. On top of that, upgradeable in game sway makes it worse. I didn't care for the DLC Left Behind though, from limited reading I'm in the minority on that one. I thought that subject matter was handled much better in the main game and wasn't thrown in your face constantly, like the dlc was.

9. Mortal Kombat X Story Mode - 5ish Hours - PS4
It's MK, fun, but I dunno if I'll play online at all. Liu Kang during story is a cheap bastard, last boss is annoying but not nearly as bad as Shao Kahn was in MK9. Really like D'Vorah.

10. Batman Arkham Origins + Cold,Cold Heart DLC - 40ish hours - Steam
Enjoyed it, but the change in the countering timing was frustrating, only ran into two glitches.

11. Batman Arkham Knight - 45 hours, 100% Hard difficulty - PS4
Worst of the Arkham games, tank mode batmobile ruins a lot of the game. Story is terrible and telegraphed right from the beginning. There were no surprises in the story beyond how bad it was and how misused a particular character is that shows up late game. Harley Quinn preorder was short and bad, Scarecrown missions were horrible, yet more batmobile racing/tank mode. Very much feels like they ran out of ideas and just stuffed the game with batmobile bullshit.

12. God of War 3 Remastered - 12ish hours - PS4
Yep, this is what I remember of GoW 1 and 2, though I never finished two when it originally released, got to some part where you're swinging over a broken bridge at a weird angle. Anyway, Game was alright, but I see the double jump timing still sucks, and I figured they'd get rid of the stupid sex mini game but nope, there it is. Later half of the game I was just wishing for it to end, but it just kept going and going. Basically disliked everything starting at
The Labyrinth
till the end.

13. The Order: 1886 - 7ish hours - PS4
One of the worst games I've ever played to completion, I feel bad for anyone that paid money for this beyond a rental fee. Amazingly this game contains almost everything that is wrong with AAA games. It's a shame, I like the lore presented but they don't really delve to deep into it, and you fight humans the majority of the game. Main rifle you start out with sounds cool.

14. Call of Duty: Ghosts - 6 1/2 hours - PS4
Prior to playing this today my only interaction with this franchise was playing the PC demo of Call of Duty 4, I've avoided it because I don't care how MP works and SP is on strict rails gameplay wise. Now I didn't try MP in this but did finish the SP, and as expected it was very much on rails. Story was dumb and the only interesting thing, the dog, was underutilized. Advanced Warfare is next, hopefully that has a decent campaign.

15. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - 7hrs - PS4
This was better than CoD Ghosts, felt even more on rails than Ghosts did, digtal Kevin Spacey is creepy as hell and not in the good way. Didn't play MP, not interested in MP.

16. Limbo - 4hrs - PS4
It was better than something like Braid, which I hated, not saying a whole lot though.

17. Murdered: Soul Suspect - 7hrs - PS4
Somewhat interesting story, terrible port, game doesn't look great and had performance issues.

18. Killzone Shadow Fall - 10hrs - PS4
Kinda blah, my only interaction with the franchise prior was the original beta for the original killzone. Controls feel off, weighty, delayed actions, Story was blah, pretty game.

19. Infamous Second Son - 10hrs - PS4
Lifeless world, okay characters, powers were blah besides neon mostly because of the visuals. Nice looking game for early gen, fun powers for the most part.

20. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor - 27 hours, 75% complete - PS4
If it weren't for the Nemesis system I would call this a bad game, with that system, slightly above average. Side content is bad, and I stopped doing it on the second map. Even the highlight, the Nemesis system, got annoying late game with orcs only have one vulnerability and that weakness not being anywhere near where the orc is currently spawned was not fun, stopped messing with this system towards the end as well and just wanted the game to end. Story was terrible as well.

21. Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes - 2hrs - PS4
i'm happy I got this from PS+, and feel bad for those that paid $30-$40, no matter the supposed replay value. I did like not having on screen map with vision cones. Voice acting for Snake was awful, I didn't care for the OG VA either but this was terrible. Pretty big misstep by Kojima.

22. Entwined - 2hrs - PS4
Nice art style and soundtrack. Gameplay was lacking.

23. Until Dawn - 9hrs - PS4
Really enjoyed this, looks nice, good soundtrack. Liked most of the character performances. Would not have paid $60 for it though, maybe 30-40, since other products in this genre, TWD S1, I paid less than 20. It has some sound issues and quite a bit of it is running at sub 30 fps.

24. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 - 12hrs - PS4
It wasn't terrible, didn't play the raid mode though. I have it for pc but it locks my computer up. Moira dialog is odd...

25. DMC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition - 7hrs - PS4
Didn't really enjoy this, also have this for pc but didn't feel like hunting down mods to fix things. Didn't play the dlc since I didn't care for the main game.

26. Lords of the Fallen - 20hrs - PS4
I enjoyed this more than I expected, decent Dark Souls clone. Enemy variety was lacking, and just like DS's, 2 handers are way to slow, thankfully sword & board worked well. Story was throw away, no worse than DS's.

27. Far Cry 4 - 51hrs - PS4
Really enjoyed this, despite the terrible and slightly offensive, in parts, story. I really liked FC3 for the same reasons. I ended up not doing much of side missions at each outpost after taking over those outposts and bell towers though. Really need to get away from the dumb drug references and trips in these games though.

28. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: NDC - 9hrs - PS4
The game was alright, blatant shooting galleries were annoying. Melee combat never feels right. Collectibles were annoying not being real items in the game world. No text describing the items history was disappointing. Visually it looks great, better than some native PS4 games.

29. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: NDC - 12hrs - PS4
This was better overall compared to the first one. Oddly the shooting felt worse. Not sure I like the game repeating story elements from the first game. Game looks really good.

30. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception: NDC - 9hrs 30mins - PS4
Shooting feels the nicest of the three games. Very nice looking game, story was the worst of the three. Fuck the bullet sponge enemies in the second half of the game. I swear their damage output with the same weapons in the second half of the game got stronger too.

31. Transformers: Devastation - 6hrs - PS4
I enjoyed this quite a bit and haven't even touched challenge mode. Platinum nailed the art style and of course the combat. Slightly disappointed they couldn't get the TV or parts of the original animated movies soundtrack in the game. Activision needs to give Platinum a bigger budget on the sequel, and there damn well better be a sequel. Starscream voice actor sounded to much like a DBZ voice actor, hopefully they get someone else next time that's closer to the original VA.

32. Grow Home - 2hrs - PS4
Cute little game showing limited mechanics can be fun to. I'll have to go back sometime to collect everything. Ubisoft/Reflections should be embarrassed with how bad the performance is.

33. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - 48hrs - PS4
Really enjoyed this, London looks good at night, less so during the day. Introduction of the grappling hook was a positive. Combat has improved but not enough to call it anything but average. The traversal system still needs work all these years later, to many times the character going opposite direction I had intended. Story is pretty bad for the series and the completely unnecessary romance was terrible. Developers need to fucking stop adding this shit into games because they are all bad at it, yes even CDPR and Bioware.

34. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 7hrs - PS4
Absolutely awful sp campaign. Probably the most incoherent story of a game I've played through. Nightmare mode opens after finishing but I didn't like the sp maps already so couldn't stomach another play through. Zero interest in multi vs/coop, so didn't try most of that. I was interested in the zombies mode but didn't expect it to be a 3/4 hits and your dead design. Just wanted to shoot zombies, mode seems overly complex with rituals, secrets etc to unlock stuff, big turn off.

35. Just Cause 3 - 20hrs - PS4
Traversal is fun, especially the wing suit. Performance is awful, game design is archaic and bad, world is pretty empty.

36. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments - 12hrs - PS4
Games was alright, later cases got boring. Performance issues on later cases mostly, lots of frame drops and screen tearing.

37. Mad Max - 60+hr's - PS4
Fantastic game released a year to late to be judged on its own merits, instead of paying for the sins of reviewers over rating a certain WB released game the year prior. Beautifully desolate with a lot of visual diversity environments, fun and brutal, and albeit simple on foot combat. Car combat was pretty good, but there is plenty of room to improve it. The storms, my goodness the glorious storms in tsequel.me will probably never be matched except by its hopefully sequel. Biggest negatives is the top dog bosses basically all being the same npc with slight visual differences and resources not being scarce enough. The Mad Max world needs to be reviewed again and again in gmaes and film.

I don't have faith in myself, but sign me up, this could be a good assault on my backlog.

The reason I don't have faith in myself... currently playing:
mainly Destiny & Final Fantasy XIV

I'd make a list of in progress & hope-to's but there's just too many. I guess I'll just update as I finish things, I categorize Steam games as Completed - <year> when I finish them and I'll try to keep track of consoles.

The immediate things that pop into my head as up first:
Shovel Knight PC
AC: Black Flag PS4
AC: Rogue 360
DA: Origins PC
The Walking Dead S2 PC
The Wolf Among Us S1 PC
Darksiders PC
TLOU: Remastered PS4

Good luck to all, this will be fun

Just managed to get to 100 games for this year. Looking forward to doing it again, though will be focusing on the longer more substantial games in the backlog so hitting 52 will be more realistic than 100 again.

So yeah, claiming a post.

I'll give it a try. There's a lot of games I've been meaning to get around to so maybe this will give me some motivation. It'll be nice just to have a list of what I play even if I don't make it to 52.

Game 1: Donkey Kong Country Returns - 12 hours 85% complete 1/4/15
I've been meaning to play this since it came out but never got around to it. Overall it's fairly uneven. There's some great platforming but the controls can be a little clunky in boss battles. The last two bosses are especially bad IMO. The first because it's boring from a gameplay perspective and the final bosses randomness really soured my opinion of the game. The difficulty doesn't feel earned. Right now I don't feel like going back to get 100%.

Game 2: Alien Infestation - 8 hours 1/10/15
This was a fun little metroidvania. At first I tried to keep all my crew members alive but eventually I came to see them as a type of energy bank. I still feel a bit bad about it. It's the kind of game I can't believe I put off for so long because it's right in my wheel house and I really enjoyed it.

Game 3: Daxter - "???" 80% 1/12/15
I started playing this a long time ago but couldn't really get into it. Started over recently and pushed through it 15 -20 minutes at a time. No idea how long it took me total. The platforming is pretty clunky. Overall I'm not really a fan.

Game 4: Me & My Katamari - "???" 1/17/15
I've wanted to play a Katamari game for a while now. This was fun. A bit repetitive and the story aspect was pretty pointless but I enjoyed it for it's wackiness. It took me a bit to get used to the controls but once it clicked I really liked them. It was a great game to play a few minutes at a time.

Game 5: Lumino City - 4 hours 1/18/15
This was fun but kind of underwhelming. The visuals are wonderful but they can get in the way of gameplay on occasion. It can be hard to tell what you can interact with or where you can go. It's not too bad but a few times I found myself just clicking around. The puzzles aren't anything special and the story is pretty thin but it's enjoyable enough.

Game 6: God of War: Chains of Olympus - 7 hours 1/23/2015
I don't mind QTEs but some of these were bad. The ones that used the analog stick especially. Other than that the only bad things were a few poorly placed checkpoints that wouldn't have been so bad if not for the unskippable cutscenes. Overall I enjoyed it but I think I'll try a few other games first before I start the other PSP GoW game so I don't get burned out.

Game 7: Dust Force DX - 5 Hours 2/5/15
I've done all the un-keyed levels, all the bronze, and most of the silver. Only a few gold. I could not get used to the controls. Every time I thought I was getting the hang of things I was quickly remind that I still wasn't sure how to consistently perform certain actions. I tried playing with the default keyboard controls, a D-pad, and an analog stick. I think I preferred the analog stick. When things were going well I really enjoyed it. One thing that stuck out to me was that none of the music seemed thematically appropriate. It wasn't bad, it just seemed completely divorced from the game.

Game 8: Red Faction: Guerrilla - 14 hours 2/7/15
This was pretty fun though everything about it feels dated. I think I'd have loved it if I played it when it first came out but the rough edges really started to get to me towards the end.

Game 9: Last Inua - 2 hours 2/9/15[/]
This was just okay. Very similar to Never Alone which I thought was better. I knew it would be short but not this short. The end felt pretty rushed and anticlimactic too. My only other real complaint is that the player movement was bordering on painfully slow. It bugged me the whole time. Overall the game was super easy and rough around the edges. It could have used a few coats of polish.

Game 10: New Super Mario Bros. 2 - 5 Hours 2/18/15
I've just completed the main levels and beat Bowser for now. I'll go back and clear everything else, get the Star coins, etc. later. I haven't even touched the Coin Rush mode. As is the case with most NSMB games I didn't think this was as bad as many people made it out to be though it was the weakest one for sure. The coin collecting gimmick made the already pointless extra lives system even more obviously pointless. They really shouldn't have been there at all considering how impossible it was to not racking them up constantly. There were a couple cool levels, I really enjoyed the Bowser level, but nothing really stood out. It's not a bad game by any means just not near as good as the rest of the Mario catalog.

Game 11: Dying Light - 19 hours 2/21/15
I wanted to like this game a lot more than I did. It's just too clunky and falls into all the worst clichés of modern AAA games. The story was awful. Not only did they not give me a reason to care about the characters they didn't give them a reason to care about each other. You spend all of 10 minutes with the two characters that dramatically die but somehow it's suppose to be devastating. I didn't like the second map although using the grappling hook was fun. I wish it wasn't so limited. Locking so many things that made the parkour and combat flow better behind skill trees was a bad idea. I'm getting tired of the slow, blurry, hallucination maze that every developer seems to think is so amazing. The anti-climactic QTE boss ending as well. The cutscenes for every side mission were unnecessary. About halfway through I just started skipping them which I never do. I probably sound much more negative about the game then I really feel but there are just so many rough edges that stand out.

Game 12: Star Fox 64 3D - 2 Hours 2/22/15
I've been meaning to play this for years since I only ever got to play the multiplayer on the original version. I went through the campaign mode once for now. I feel like I didn't really get a handle on things until nearly they end so I'll try to unlock the other paths when I play it again. I was really impressed by some of the graphics considering it's a 64 remade for 3DS.

Game 13: Cloudberry Kingdom - 16 hours 3/1/15
I really liked this game a lot. I remember hearing about it when it was on Kickstarter but pretty much forgot it until a needed to find a cheap game that would get me some Club Nintendo coins. Now it's one of my favorite games! The story doesn't really need to be there but it doesn't get in the way. It took a while to get used to the feel of the physics but now I'm pretty happy with them. My one complaint is that the balance is all over the place. I was breezing through levels, then stuck for 20 minutes, then breezing through again at irregular intervals. Some later levels are easier than some of the middle and early levels.

Game 14: Crush - "???" 3/2/15
This was okay. The controls were a little clunky. Towards the end the puzzles were more convoluted than difficult. Just a lot of busy work and waiting for platforms to be in the right place at the right time. The first 30 levels I played through pretty much non-stop. The last ten took me forever to slog through one at time because I had no desire to keep playing.

Game 15:God of War: Ghost of Sparta - 7 hours 3/9/15
I think I liked this better than Chains of Olympus. The QTEs weren't as bad. I felt like it was worse in other aspects, the combat didn't seem as varied, but overall I enjoyed it more. It felt more like a game designed for handhelds.

Game 16: Rhythm Heaven - 5 hours 3/10/15
I mostly played this in short bursts here and there. It's such a quirky little game. The only thing that really gave me trouble was the back beat game. The count-in was kind of awkward for the transition. Other than that it was a little too simplistic. I might get around to playing Rhythm Heaven Fever eventually but I'm not in a hurry.

Game 17: Ori and the Blind Forest - 9 hours 43 minutes 3/15/15
I really enjoyed this. It's maybe my favorite game I've played so far this year. The controls weren't as precise as I'd like but there weren't too many huge problems. It looks amazing and even better in 3D.

Game 18: Gunman Clive 2 - 3 hours 3/20/15
I've been meaning to get around to this for a while. I really enjoyed it. The first one was great and I think this might be even better. Lots more variety.

Game 19: Capitan Toad: Treasure Tracker - 10 hours 3/28/15
I like pretty much everything about this game. There was a surprising amount of variety. It's never super challenging but I never found myself bored either. The mine cart levels make me want a Wii U Pokemon Snaps more than ever.

Game 20: Apotheon - 6 hours 3/30/15
This game is a mess. I only had one serious glitch but the combat itself is buggy throughout. The levels seemed to have been designed by someone who wasn't aware of the momentum system which itself doesn't seem to have a purpose other than to highlight how clunky the platforming is and slow everything down. There are just too many problems to list. I enjoyed what the game wanted to be but what it is I probably wouldn't have finished if I weren't trying to complete this 52 games challenge.

Game 21: Boxboy - 6 hours 4/6/15
I really enjoyed this. As is typical with Nintendo games lately it doesn't really start to get hard until towards the end and in the post game content. I never found myself bored with the easier levels because they generally were being used to teach new game mechanics. There's a surprising amount of variety given how simple the game looks at first.

Game 22: Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries - 2 hours 4/9/15
This was pretty bad. It looked nice but everything else was a mess. It's super short. Stealth is clunky. Combat is barely there. Puzzles are hardly puzzles. Most importantly the platforming is bad. It's going for a sort of Alice vibe but just comes across overly cheesy. I like the idea of a narrative similar to Ethan Carter or Dear Ester in a platformer but they don't really pull it off very well. I don't know if I'll be playing Volume 2.

Game 23: Grow Home - 4 hours 4/11/15
I like this a lot. It controls a little too sloppy for my taste but that was obviously a design decision. It'd be nice if there were some more friction and/or a way to stop forward momentum in the air. That's really my only complaint. Otherwise a great game that I had a lot of fun with.

Game 24: Mushroom Men: Truffle Trouble - 4 hours 4/26/15
I really like the Mushroom Men game for Wii but this wasn't very good. The controls were sloppy. The gameplay was super repetitive and not that interesting to begin with. 3D movement in a sidescrolling game has never really worked that well in my experience and it doesn't work here.

Game 25: Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - 5 Hours 5/9/15
I really liked The New Order and this was more of the same. The pipe climbing mechanic was a bit overdone considering how simplistic and boring it is but other than that I've got no complaints.

Game 26: Loco Roco - 7 hours 5/15/15
This was just okay. After a few levels it got super representative.

Game 27:Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors - 6 hours 5/22/15
This was fun but slow. I'm pretty sure I got the worst ending. I haven't decided yet if I'll go back and try for the rest of them. I may try another run and see how the past memories mechanic helps speed things up. Otherwise I'll just move on to Virtue's Last Reward after reading up on the other endings.

Game 28: Splatoon - 10 hours 6/2/15
I really enjoyed this. I wish the single player component was longer. I really love the movement system, it just feels so satisfying. Normally I don't enjoy online multiplayer tht much but I've been having a lot of fun with this. With short match times and the focus on an objective over just mindless combat it's more suited to my play style I think.

Game 29: Assasin's Creed Chronicles: China - 6 hours 6/10/15
There's not much good I can say about this game. Everything about it is clunky and awkward. Somehow they managed to make the parkour worse than mainline AC games. The VO was distractingly bad with characters going in and out of bad Chinese accents. The combat was boring. I really liked the concept and hopefully future games in this side series will have better execution.

Game 30: Yoshi's New Island - 11 hours 6/14/15
I liked this a lot. Playing it alongside the original for the first time as well doesn't hurt my opinion of it any. The original starts out harder but not too much. I finished this one first only because it's so much more convenient to play a level here and there in my down time at work.

Game 31: Resistance: Retribution - "???" 6/25/15
I did not like this game at all. It seems like it was conceived with no consideration for the platform it would be played on. The balancing act they had to attempt to make it playable just ends up with unsatisfying, brain dead, and at times frustrating gameplay. It could have been hours shorter without missing much as the story kind of meandered through different barely related missions. In-game cutscenes into pre-rendered slideshow cutscenes back into in-game cutscenes were a bit overkill as well considering this was suppose to be a portable title. Overall it was just a chore to slog through this game.

Game 32: Her Story - 3 hours 6/29/15
I was really looking forward to this. I told my brother about it and he played the night before me. He seemed pretty excited to talk about it. I was kind of underwhelmed. I found the acting to be a little cheesy at times. The story was generic. So much of it was on the nose. The interface and search system could have used some more work. It kind of breaks the immersion for searching to be so arbitrarily gamey. I like the general idea of it and am glad to see something new but overall just felt it was lacking.

Game 33: Kirby: Triple Deluxe - 7 hours 6/30/15
I enjoyed my time with this game. It's nothing special but was a nice way to fill downtime at work here and there. There's a lot going on in each level with all the different powers and secrets and there's a surprising amount of depth to the combat if you want it.

Game 34: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team - 42 hours 7/22/15
I have pretty mixed feelings about this game. It's about 4 times longer than it needs to be. The gameplay is fun but after doing the same battles so many times it started to feel like a chore to get through to the end. There is a lot of variety but nothing is ever really used to it's fullest. It's way too hand-holdy and there's lot's of repeated dialogue telling you things you already know over and over again. If they took some of that out they could have probably cut the play time down by 10+ hours. All in all I enjoyed most of my time playing but the parts that I didn't enjoy really drag the game down.

Game 35: Deadlight - 3 hours 7/23/15
I did not like this game. The controls are awful and that's about all that needs to be said. If it wasn't so short I might not have finished.

Game 36: Never Alone: Fox Tales - 1 hour 30 minutes 7/30/15
This was a fun little expansion to the original game. It probably took me less than an hour to actually finish it but some aggravating technical issues artificially inflated my play time. I really like the cultural insights videos but felt they were a little lacking in this.

Game 37: Westerado: Double Barreled - 3 hours 7/30/15
This is a neat little game. The art is great, the music is great, but mechanically it's pretty thin. Fetch quests and gun fights make up most of the game. The end sequence was fairly underwhelming.

Game 38: Submerged - 2 hours 30 minutes 8/5/15
This could have been so much better than it is if there was even a little more depth to the gameplay. As it is it's not bad but it's got so many little things wrong with it that all add up to one mediocre experience with barely there gameplay.

Game 39:Residue: Final Cut - 2 hours 8/6/15
I really enjoyed this. It's not the most polished game in the world, the translation could use some work, and the voice acting is pretty cheesy but for some reason I really enjoyed it. I'd love to see the idea expanded upon.

Game 40: Absolute Drift - 3 hours 8/11/15
This was a lot of fun. The controls never clicked with me 100% but that was part of the fun. I just finished the challenges so far but I can see myself playing this a lot.

Game 41: Beyond Eyes - 2 hours 8/13/15
This was fairly disappointing. It felt kind of lifeless. There's no charm. Even though it's barely two hours I had to force myself to finish and it seemed to drag on forever. I really like the idea and it's certainly unique but the pacing is just painfully slow.

Game 42: Battlefield: Hardline - 8 hours 8/18/15
I completely forgot about this until my brother said something about it recently. I was actually pleasantly surprised. It's not as bad as I expected! Honestly, I think it would have been better if they didn't call it a Battlefield game. It plays more like a FPS Uncharted mixed with a watered down, semi-open world Far Cry. The story isn't anything special and there are times where it seemed liked they didn't know what they wanted the game to be but overall it's better than BF4's campaign. There were still a lot of little bugs here and there but nothing as bad as the problems I ran into with BF4.

Game 43: Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas - 10 hours 8/20/15
This was okay. There were a lot of little things that bugged me but overall I liked it. The voice acting was pretty cheesy and honestly didn't need to be there. There were times with over the top hand holding that basically explained puzzles to you and then others were simple things weren't really explained at all and you just had to figure them out by chance. The boss fights were clunky.

Game 44: Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power - 5 hours 8/26/15
I'm a huge fan of the first two Trine games and was really looking forward to this. The jump to 3D was great as far as I'm concerned. I played in stereoscopic 3D and just like the previous games it's perfectly implemented. The gameplay was okay. They really cut out a lot of mechanics which is a bit disappointing. The game just ends abruptly. You can see it coming because the level select world map is clearly small but in terms of the story it comes out of nowhere. They just tack a random boss fight on and call it a day. It's quite bizarre. The length wouldn't have been a problem for me if the story wasn't so abruptly cut off. Overall I have pretty mixed feelings because I really enjoyed everything until the end.

Game 45: Rayman Jungle Run - "???" 9/10/15
My first mobile game of the year! I'm a big Rayman fan so of course I enjoyed this despite it's shortcomings. It starts a little slow but once you unlock all the abilities it's a lot of fun. There's some room for speed running but a few times I ended up going too fast for the levels and getting caught in some no man's land with no background textures! Overall it's a pretty good mobile approximation of Rayman but the modifications to the gameplay really make the faults standout. Rayman's pathfinding could use some work! 100%ing every level was a bit anti-climatic but I'm probably going to jump right into Fiesta Run.

Game 46: Puzzle & Dragon + Super Mario Bros. Edition - 43 hours 9/17/15
I really like the idea of this game but the mobile roots show through in a bad way. There's too much "randomness" and too many cheap deaths.

Game 47: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - 11 hours 9/22/15
This was a lot of fun. I played the 3DS version and will definitely be finishing the rest of the trilogy. I've got a few nit picks here and there but overall I really enjoyed it. It's so engaging and addictive. I found myself wanting to play every spare minute I could.

Game 48: Rayman Fiesta Run - "???" 9/28/15
This was such a step down from Jungle Run. It's a shame too because some of the levels were really great. All the mobile game nonsense gets in the way. You can't even start a level with a spin dash because they've put a little shop icon in it's place until after the level starts! I still liked it a lot because it's Rayman and I love Rayman but man was it frustrating.

Game 49: Monument Valley - 1 hours 30 minutes 9/29/15
I really liked this but I wish it were longer. Things were just starting to get interesting in terms of the puzzles and mechanics being used to their fullest towards the end.

Game 50: Mad Max - 27 hours 10/8/15
I enjoyed this for the most part but it was still a pretty big disappointment. An open-world Mad Max game sounds great but only a few hours in I couldn't help feeling it might have been better to go with an Uncharted style game. Taking on a convey as a big cinematic set piece instead of bumping into a few cars and blowing them up would be a better representation of the Mad Max world in my mind. There were so many little things wrong that just added up to a lot of aggravation. The car handling and physics are bad. Max is just as clunky. I can't believe the put platforming segments in a game with such awful movement. I'm a big fan of Avalanche but this was not up to par. It's not the worst thing ever, just kind of mediocre.

Game 51: Fallout 3 - 20 hours 10/8/15
I did not like this game at all. It took me pretty much all year to force myself to beat it. Way too clunky for me. I might have been able to get past that if the gameplay was even remotely interesting but it's all just fetch quests and stilted conversation. The combat was unenjoyable and clunky with or without the VATS. I get the appeal of the series, my younger brother loves it, but it's just not for me. I planned on playing through New Vegas as well but I don't think that's going to be happening any more!

Game 52: Mushroom 11 - 8 hours 10/21/15[/]
I loved this! It felt completely original. I don't think they nailed down the main game mechanic 100% so I'd love to see what they do in a sequel of some sort. The way the fungus grows and how it seeks out (or doesn't!) little crevices leads to a lot of inconsistency and doing the same thing over and over with differing results. I don't understand why the growth stops in air either, there's tons of potential for gameplay there. Even though all the little quirks added up to a lot of frustration and aggravation at certain points I feel comfortable saying this was one of my favorite games the year. I've still got a few to finish that I've already started and tons more in my backlog but I'm pretty excited to have actually made it to 52 and feel like this was a great game to reach the goal with.

This, I was looking forward to participating, but honestly thread seemed to be put up way to early and already cluttered with peoples half finished titles of 2014.

I saw this as a start and complete 52 games in 2015 and but its all good, I'll just maintain my own list of completed 2015 titles.
