Ah ok, i didnt know that the first Ratchet & Clank game was bundled in Japan, thanks for the info! I thought maybe that the first R&C game sold pretty well in Japan because it was the first game in the serie, and that it was a "fresh" game if you know what i mean. But if it was bundled, then this probably one of the reasons why it sold so much indeed.

Where any of the other R&C games also bundled? The 2-3 next R&C game sold a bit over 200k copies each at least, which sounds pretty good in my opinion, especially concidered that they are western developed games

Ye, labeling R&C Deadlocked as R&C5 might not have helped the declining popularity of the Ratchet & Clank series in Japan indeed as you say, i agree

According to japan-gamecharts, the best selling Crash Bandicoot game (Crash Bandicoot 3) sold 917k. Last time we got Mario Galaxy numbers it had reached 964k.
