not really a retail report. but i saw a lot of last story ads in stores. also some stations with no playable game available and i was like wtf.

The publisher for AKB48 says that as of last Thursday, they have confirmed over 250k in pre-orders for the game. If the pace keeps up they believe the game can sell over 500k eventually.

- Monster Hunter Portable 3rd still selling out in spite of huge shipments at the big stores
- Donkey Kong Country Returns, Wii Party and Mario Sports Mix are the top selling Wii games with new hardware purchases
- PSP selling boatloads
- PS3 also doing good, but less than Wii
- Can't really tell what's going on with the DS other than Ni no Kuni and Pokemon BW being the big sellers

I am not sure about what you mean but 514k is in line with the 600k figure we got from Media Create.

Édit : I got it, you refer to the tracking mistake we suspected last week :lol

Well, yeah, looks like they ajusted it.

Uh, there is a HUGE difference between 514,198 and 629,541.

Famitsu had Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G at 552,701 its second week too.

Excellent work as usual. :)

May I suggest (if possibile) to better differentiate the various games? I mean, some colours appear very similar and you have to look at the actual numbers to tell which game they relates to.

Funny, I'm just coming over to Japan from Singapore end of this week.
Hijacking the thread a bit - but anyone got recommendations for where to pick-up a PSPGo while I'm there?(MSRP on Go in Japan is right now almost 2x lower then in Singapore, but if there's any places likely to be running end-of year deals or stuff, I won't mind of course).

That said I'm gonna be in Sapporo, so I imagine that limits the choices somewhat...

If you have any Japanese SKU games you don't play anymore, then bring them and sell them. And then buy a used PSP Go for maximum savings.

Probably won't be any playable disc until after the conference on the 27th.

Glad to hear more confirmation that they're going to be pushing the game very hard.

Yeah, this indication makes me happy. That means that DKC showed some guts. Go DK, we love you. But lack of sales for Ni no Kuni does pinch me.

Is there likely to be any goodwill towards the game from retailers? That is, is there a possibility they will steer clear of immediate and drastic price cuts because of the past performance of other L5 titles? Or are they likely just to try and get it moved as quickly as possible, especially considering stock must take up more room thanks to the packaging and book.

Last week Mario Vs. Donkey Kong was at 50k. This week it should have gone up so maybe Ni no Kuni isn't very far from 100k. Or maybe it is...

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
80kish isnt that bad for its second week, imo. Ninokuni will reach +500k eventually....
