The Banner Saga - This game has crashed about 10 minutes in every time I try to play it. I dig the environment and art style but I have other stuff to play.
Zone of Enders: The 2nd Runner - I beat this way back on PS2. I've been meaning to play the HD version but I know I will never prioritize it enough to actually play it.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - I loved Human Revolution but the impressions for Mankind Divided seem way more mixed. I've also heard that the game seems unfinished, so I decided to avoid it rather than be disappointed.
Valine Hearts: The Great War - I watched a YouTube playthrough for most of this one.

Still doing OK. Definitely starting to pick up more games lately, but I'm still attacking older stuff.

I recently started to feel guilty about not listing some games that I've bought recently, but I stand by my decision that they were for my kids. I've gotten my fare share of Switch games, but I can honestly say that Splatoon 2, Cave Story+, Arms, Snake Pass are games that were bought for them in mind and I won't really touch them. Aside from Cave Story, but that's because I've already owned Cave Story+ on my PC since 2012. So yeah, glad to have that off my chest... Anyway:

SEPTEMBER UPDATE
I didn't play anything at all this month before my uni dissertation deadline last friday. Planning on pretty much doing nothing but playing games & sleeping this week so let's see if I can get out of negative territory...

  • Among the Sleep (3-4hr)
    An interesting game. As someone who pretty much never plays horror games it definitely succeeded in creeping me out during it's short play time - got downright stressful at times
  • Sherlock Holmes the Devil's Daughter (~10hrs)
    I really like the Holmes games, flawed as they are. The writing can be a bit wonky at times and a couple of the minigames were annoying but I still really enjoyed it & wanted more - Sherlock Holmes is just cool man. Managed to platinum it just by playing the game & not skipping any puzzles/minigames too which was nice

I went on a small purge and ended up just selling about a dozen PS4 games. There was no way I was gonna get around to playing them. It feels pretty great though to have that lifted off my chest especially approaching the holidays.

I love doing things like that personally, though I usually do it in smaller batches. The couple of rounds of Gamestop trade credit promos helped me clear out some of the backlogs, though admittedly I made the PS4 backlog a bit worse.

I got a new gaming PC. I bought more than two handfuls of games on Steam to go with it.

That's not to mention the planned purchase of Destiny 2.

I may as well post this now, as there's no chance I'll finish FFX today.

Bad month, mainly because I bought a bunch of games on sale but spent all my time playing Yakuza Kiwami and Final Fantasy X. Kiwami isn't too long, especially for the Yakuza series, but completing everything still takes a while. And while FFX has a relatively short main story, it also has a ton of optional content I've been slowly working my way through. Completing the sphere grid in particular is a bit of a nightmare.

I should be able to finish FFX early next month, at which point I'll probably jump straight into another Final Fantasy: FFIX. I've been really wanting to play it since the PS4 version came out but I'd already started X by then.

I caved. I bought a Switch. I also bought two games for it that will take a lot of of time to beat. Oops. Managed to go +2 in September anyway, but as a whole this quarter is a total disaster.
I started streaming games a week ago! I'm gonna focus on streaming backlog games and finish them, so that should help a bit. (It's in swedish btw, so don't bother looking it up ;D)
October and November are horror months! Woooh! I loooove horror games and I will probably get a few new ones. Hopefully I will finish more than I buy tho :D

October update. I was in a strong position thanks to Gamestop's 6-for-60% offer, but the quality of the calendar, not to mention a lack of free time, is eating into my progress. In the past two months I've purchased eight games: Tumbleseed, Sonic Mania; Ys Origins, Yakuza Kiwami, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Metroid: Samus Returns, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and Golf Story

Two more games are right around the corner, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Super Mario Odyssey.

I need to get better at ignoring critical praise, word of mouth, hype -- you name it -- in order to focus on and finish the v. good games in front of me. I'm not doing such a hot job at the moment!

Whew, this was a bad quarter. July wasn't all that bad, just a -1, but August was finally the month that broke my score and threw me into the negative. September was a wash at 0, which puts me at -3.

My sudden fall from grace has to do with my lack of free time, as I took on a second job. It's a shame, but that's how it goes. I'm planning on holding the job at least until year end, hopefully longer but since school will be coming next year we'll see.

There's not too much else to say, that the numbers don't say this quarter. :p I'll have my October post up soon, since I already have some activity there.

    Enjoyed it, messing around with the powers was good fun. Completed all the side missions & might do an evil playthrough sometime to platinum it. Story & characters weren't anything special but worked well enough

Beat Etrian Odyssey IV on the 3DS. Good game, would recommend if you're looking for a dungeon crawling rpg.
