ANNOUNCEMENTS:

For a second week tanod has allowed me to post in his stead while he focuses his energy elsewhere. (Here's some explanation. Be sure to send him a hearty congratulations!) As always, this is a workday for me, but I will check in every few hours to make updates to the top post. I will try to make sure everything is summarized by 7PM (U.S. Eastern Time).

Last week you guys were extremely helpful collecting details, so I hope you can help out again. As you confirm information in your respective territories, I'll try to add to the top post, with appropriate credit.

In lieu of making the thread a couple weeks ago for the UK and JPN content that went up, tanod did a comprehensive (minus DLC and trailers) list of everything that went up in the U.S. from launch up until the last update of 2007. He also included a detailed feature list of all of the PSN games, a Japanese PS1 game list and a list of all the demos available.
In case you missed it: PSN Content 2007 - "almost" Comprehensive List

-Japanese content is going up.
-Europe content is up.
-North America content is up.

-According to a post on Kotaku, United States PSN Cards are starting to appear in stores. However, after checking today, I have not been able to find any place online that sells them.
-According to Sony, there will be no firmware update in January. :( But, hey, February is next week!

THIS WEEK ON PSP:

Setting some expectations for my listing of PSP Store content. I will only post the PSP list after it gets posted on the PS blog. I'm not going to track content outside of the U.S. nor am I going to track upcoming releases. It's simply way beyond what I have time for. If somebody else wants to start keeping track of that, feel free.

The last update for the PSP store was on 31 January 2008.

Games
-NeoPets: PetPet Adventures: The Wand of Wishing - $15.99

Firmware v.3.90 was posted on 30 January 2008 (includes Skype for PSP Slim).

Yeah. A PS3 firmware update would be nice. Or at least an explanation of Go! Messenger.

I'm kinda iffy on the Rock Band songs this week. I know, I know. Bad taste, right? I'll probably revisit them later.

I'm still hoping for surprise DLC like the Marvel Ultimate Alliance pack or the OXM Rock Band songs.
Or the elusive Rock Band patch.

Hopefully the flOw PSP version doesn't need another purchase.

What about the expansion? Was that ok?

Uhh. Lots of things expected today, but I expect delays. Europe will never have Everyday Shooter or Puzzle Fighter. EVER!

Is Sony releasing more Home invites? I haven't logged onto that in a while.

I think that about covers my random thoughts. I just hope there aren't any more FPS demos. Because really, they've gotten boring. (I have Burnout Paradise, but it's somewhere in my rental truck. I'm moving right now)

I think the next firmware will be a minor one, bug fixes more than anything else.

I bough flOw expansion, but I haven't played it. I think my son has (he's five) and enjoyed it as much as he enjoyed the full games (which is to say -- a lot). I've heard it was done by another company/team and was kind of "meh".

Well, this bit of news came from my side of the spectrum a few days ago.

http://www.xblarcade.com/node/1657

Talisman

To say that something odd has happened with Talisman would be a bit of an understatement. Here is a game that has had concept art and and the following trailer:

This game was originally announced back in April and slated for a Q4 2007 release. That morphed into a "Winter" release, which then turned into an April '08 release. If that wasn't enough uncertainty for you, it seems that the game is now in limbo. Rumors started coming out that the game was quietly canceled. The great folks over at 360Sync.com went so far as to get an answer from Capcom that seemed to confirm this rumor. However, it seems that while the title is definitely on life support, it hasn't quite kicked the bucket just yet. According to Christian Svensson, Vice-President of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom:

We are redirecting the project at the moment and there are a number of courses of action we are evaluating. The game is not canceled, nor is it on hold. We want the best possible execution so it is probably fair to say that it will not make the original date of "Winter". As we complete our evaluation of our options, we will eventually formulate a new release date.

After pressing him a bit further he went on to inform us that at a minimum, they will be changing developers. What happened between Capcom and Big Rooster, is unknown at this time, but one would imagine that this sort of switch, could mean a very hefty delay.

So there you go, clear as mud right?

This is especially troubling to you PSN types since as far as I know, Talisman is pretty much your future board game content.

Thanks. Added.

Also general note...

I've added a Credits section under the territory listing. I hope this will still give appropriate credit to contributors while not cluttering the store items. I don't want anyone to think their help wasn't appreciated, so let me know if this doesn't suit you.

I forgot today was Thursday... or I forgot it was PSN update date. Anyways, thanks for reminding me I should get angry in around 8 hours!

Besides this fantastic thread are there any good web-sites that specialises in PSN-content in form of news, previews and reviews?

SSHD rumble for JPN store, please.

Also, I noticed this week that the UK store has a single player demo for Time Shift, as well as multiplayer. I've heard the HK and some other stores also have unique content. Any other overlooked items on foreign stores?

Nice to see some third-party PSX-games.

Fade to black was nice for its time. Don't know how much joy you get out of it nowadays.
The follow up to Fade to Black and Another World.
