Hey everyone, this is Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer. I have posted on NeoGAF since 2011, and have decided to resign. I have enjoyed posting about horror games here for years, but I no longer wish to support the site and will be leaving for good. I will still be around the internet, I go by AestheticGamer on YouTube, I make games on Steam as Yai Gameworks, and I plan to go by Dusk Golem on other forums. I'll be joining an off-set of the GAF community leaving to try other ventures like ResetEra (Official Twitter for that here: https://twitter.com/reseteraforum ). I hope some of you who read this may consider it, and I plan to try to expose more people to horror games in the years to come. Just not here.

I hope you all are having a good day, and know I always loved the community, and in the end it's the community I'm going to stick with, not the site itself. If you want to follow me, my official Twitter is here: https://twitter.com/AestheticGamer1

Cant wait to play this, REmake was one of my all time favorite games of last year.

They've seemed to have a crapton of extra content compared to REmake HD.

Makes me hopeful that REmake 2 is well on it's way to being something truly great.

Christ it looks way better than I was expecting. Am I crazy or did they completely rebuild some of the prerendered bg's? This is getting me unreasonably excited for RE2make.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

What's up with the lengthy head on the PS4 version?

I haven't played a RE game since I was a kid, I really need to get on the remake one day.

All those extra Claire costumes.

RE2 was one of the most packed feature games on the PSX. Can't wait.

Totally forgot about this. Did they update the controls like they did in the Remake or are tank controls the only option?

I like just about everything seen so far. Only thing flaw I could say would be Rebecca's updated face in the comparison appears to not be able to capture that "playful angry-ness" that is clear in the original cutscene.

It may be just that particular scene, but it's a little too lifeless doll-like.

Only thing I don't agree with is the changes to Rebecca's face. It looks more like she's wearing make-up now, which seems unnecessary.

I think it's good, and I'm hoping this Remaster changes some people's opinion on it. It's a good game, not the best RE game, but I say a solid survival-horror title.

When I played it the first time on the GameCube I couldn't get myself to finish it. It was just a horrible game.
Maybe I'll give it another chance. Only if they put it on ps now.

The remaster looks absolutely stunning. I'm so hyped.

Rebecca's new face is no bueno. I also kind of prefer the old lighting in certain shots, but the game looks great otherwise.

Yeah, I don't understand why they felt a need to add eye shadow. She looked fine as is.

I like it more than RE3 for sure. It would be a much better game if they placed the Item Boxes.

I called it since REmake 2 was announced, but RE Zero HD proves to me that REmake 2 is going to be a classic fixed camera angle Resident Evil game.

Looking at what Capcom is doing with RE Zero HD (having all the data from the production of the game and re-using it, tinkering inside the game to create a whole new mode with new animations and new mechanics and then creating new game models from scratch and integrating them to work in the story mode.

RE Zero HD probably was a learning experience for the current folks at Capcom into what it took to make a classic RE game in the vein of REmake. Plus, since a chunk of the pipeline and tools are already in place to create such a title and given the nature that the main game of RE2 is already a highly-detailed design document, it's fair to say Capcom is taking the chance of a classic RE since it's not gonna cost a ton and it is not a sequel in the main series. It's just a remake of an old title so it's like a side-thing.

I'd bet on it.

My thoughts exactly. Doing REmake and RE0 HD definitely seems like it was an opportunity for the development team to become intimately familiar with the workings of a classic RE title; All the more experience to make REmake 2 with.\\

I'm betting on it too, I think REmake 2 was greenlit due to the success of REmake HD, and also
a few of RE2's environments appear in Zero,
so I imagine them doing double-duty here.

This, too. Capcom loves them some asset reuse, especially in regards to RE.

Impressive work. Only things I really noticed were the blacks being more of a purple in some parts on PS4 and Rebecca's eyes looked wonky in some new scenes. Other than that, it looks really good.

watched carcinogen's stream a few times and it blew me away how good it looks. Can only hope we get this for RE2make.

But yeah, not a fan of the new faces. Don't hate them or anything, just prefer the old ones.

It looks amazing aside from Rebecca's new face.

She really didn't need a big change, and she certainly didn't need heavy eyeliner.

I'm surprised current-gen consoles can't run this at 60 FPS. I mean, 360 and PS3, I dunno, how detailed are the character models? But I'm pretty sure the XB1 and PS4 shouldn't be having too many problems unless there's tons of zombies. At least the PC version's uncapped.

Sticks out to many, myself included. The reasoning is because they used the same model they used for the original Zero, but updated it. The model's name is Ayumi Hamasaki, her old look was based on her look in 2002. Her new look is based on her look in 2015:

I'm getting a weird bit of uncanny valley from this... The skin's too smooth! Argh!
