Harebrained Schemes' (Shadowrun Returns) action-roguelike Necropolis is now set for a 17th March release date on Steam.

Harebrained Schemes is also working on the BattleTech reboot set for early 2017.

Pre-orders will go live 2nd February.

Excitingly, the developer also announced that Necropolis will feature four-player co-op.

Necropolis features third-person Demon's Souls-inspired combat with a stamina meter, blocking, dodging, light & heavy attacks, magic and the like. As its roguelike heritage suggests, levels are procedurally-generated with geography, monster layouts, items and more rearranged with every playthrough.

can't see any new trailer, so here's last year's PAX trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmc8jlpvsEw

Should still be PC-only with TBD for consoles. At least that was the situation when they announced it.

Indeed, I got this bit of PR in my inbox and I was quite surprised that this is releasing in the not too distant future.

I'll probably wait for it to hit PS4 before I pick it up, I own all their games so far and have backed the Battletech project so I'm a big fan of their work.

This is on my radar, but it doesn't seem to even be on HBS's radar. Kind of a stealth release, no?

Yeah, really stealth release on this one. No new videos showing off the current state of the game. But, maybe they will ramp this up a bit before release?

A 4 player co-op Souls styled game sounds interesting. If it has a nice challenge curve and interesting locations / gameplay, then I might check it out.

I like Harebrained stuff and backed Battletech even though I am not a big Mech fan but I love TBS games. But I won't be buying this as its not my type of game, but I hope its successful for them

This looks damn good. I will definitely buy this since they totally won me over with the shadowrun games but there has been pretty much zero marketing for this...

Kinda surprised this isn't getting more attention, it looks really good. I'm curious to see what kind of progression/skill system they have in place, have they shown anything?
