Its by Laura Dale, she's been the most credible source for Switch news so far.
How credible is this site?
Because Splatoon as the pack in will sell gangbusters.
This sounds good. The title will apparently feature a 3D open world hub from which different worlds can be selected, with multiple objectives to complete in each, much like Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy. This may seem obvious, but we share this information to specify that this will not be a Super Mario 3D World-style game where the action is in 3D, but each stage is a linear path designed to be completed a single time.
The multiplayer teased in the trailer will be a co-op version of the main game, with both players able to work together toward objectives, but with a form of tether to keep the players from going too far from each other. Player twos gameplay will not hold player one back from progress, but player two can be the one to complete an objective and be shown as receiving the level end reward. A screen will then show how much of the progress toward that success was down to each player, like how many red coins each player collected in a red coin stage.
Love Splatoon, but I'd much rather have a proper new game as a pack-in. Oh well.
This rumour refers to it as a new "version", comparing it to the Wii U "version".I would assume it is a full-fledged sequel then, because bundling an enhanced port for your second SKU to show off your new console seems weird.
Splatoon with new single-player content, new modes and free stage DLC is a new installment.
People should know that Splatoon will only being in the premium bundle.
It's in the Nintendo Land spot.
I know Splatoon sold pretty well. I bought a copy and loved it.....but I'm not sure that it's the best pack-in title. I think a potential 3d Mario would sell better. I could be wrong though. I'll buy either.

If this is all true, sounds like an upgraded port to me.
I don't get how everyone here gets all excited and shouts how it's going to sell like hot cakes because of the Splatoon pack in.
I know it's a good game & sold pretty well.
But it's still just a WiiU game.
Unless of course it's a sequel or "remaster" with lots of new content.
It's Nintendo. Nothing is off the table.I would assume it is a full-fledged sequel then, because bundling an enhanced port for your second SKU to show off your new console seems weird.
Should have mine craft at launch
Sure, that too.Emily Rogers was also calling it an enhanced port as well.
People will buy Mario regardless though, packing it in would be pointless, splatoon being an enhanced port could lead to some people passing on it so makes sense to be the pack in

For me, it's a bit too soon for Splatoon 1.5.
Let's hope the standalone SKU is not too far behind the premium pack-in one
Japan doesn't do pack-ins period.
