Fresco is a mind-bending first person exploration / puzzle game, featuring a unique gameplay mechanic. Find your way out by creating a path in the world, via manipulating paintings and placing them on strategic locations.

You start in a colorless world without any explanation. You quickly find paintings which you can interact with and move. By looking at them, you will notice that they look a lot like your environment. The idea is to use them to your advantage to progress through the world.

The game is about exploration, awareness, and analysis of your surroundings. You will have to understand how to use the paintings by finding what they represent, where they have been painted from, and how you could transpose them to the world.

The trailer reminds me of a game concept made by Digipen students which I utterly loved but never made it into a real game. It is a bit of a stretch, it is not a copy. The game concept was called VOID and you could see different dimensions by holding a lens.

I am glad someone invented a similar concept and is in the process of extending it as best as he can into a real game.

This reminds me of that game where you're in a museum and can do visual illusions like this, can't remember the name. Anyway, on the radar!

Intriguing, but I'm a little worried whether it can get to a level that's interestingly complex - the base concept seems sound, but I'd be a little worried that requiring 'landmarks' in fixed locations would make the puzzles overly-simple. Hopefully the designer can prove me wrong with some inspired puzzle design!

I didn't quite get my head around what was going on with the final video mechanic, so that might well be the sort of complexity I'm after!

I remember that game. I cannot remember the name. :p

You guys thinking of Antichamber?

Edit: Oh, the game mentioned below wasn't on my radar at all. It is now.

Looks interesting. Some nice potential there.

Dishonored 2 has something a bit similar, where one of the missions has you exploring a mansion with a device that can let you switch between the past and present and also includes a small window to view the other time. That level was so freaking cool.

You are thinking of The Museum of Simulation Technology http://www.pillowcastlegames.com/ I think?

Which is itself a copy of Tale of Scale (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sJPufr0qmI) and Depth (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdfz3voyX94)

There are also Anamorphosis (http://anamorphosisgame.com/), Projective (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Zlxnfjb8k) and maybe Perspective (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perspective_(video_game))
