Here are some of my favorite pickups from December 2016! In January, I'll be chilling at home for a bit, but will be traveling a lot again later in the month. Can't wait to find some cool stuff.

15258995_988321551312028_598013563914682368_n.jpg

This sneaker pick-up was very special to me. I've been wanting a pair of DMP (Defining Moments Package) Air Jordan 11s since they first released in early 2006... I even tried camping out overnight to get a pair. This sneaker has been out of reach from my grasp for over 10 years, but finally in early Dec. I was able to complete my Air Jordan 11 collection by getting these. :D

15251661_543033122569596_3249284248531632128_n.jpg

More gold! These are so loud/shiny and just simply stunning. The Air Jordan 6 pinnacle in gold is just breathtaking... Everything from the sneaker itself, to the out of box experience... It just screams "WOW" !

15306692_206839983105704_5183776877730332672_n.jpg

Came back from Tokyo just in time to go to PlayStation Experience. I was able to get into the store early (I heard there were 3 hour long lines) and pick-up a few things. Love PS brand/merch! The Parappa beanie was cool... But what I saw in Japan a few days later was even more remarkable...

15043560_1747061145618415_4004179726385020928_n.jpg

Thanks to the good people at Arcade Shock, I was able to get the full set of the new Hori RAP V series in red, white and blue! Do you know the inspiration behind this colored drop? You'll never guess where Hori got the idea from :p

14727406_1154271934664454_5304504276662353920_n.jpg

Haven't picked up any amiibo in awhile but had to get these for my daughter, who also happens to love The Legend of Zelda series (like me) !

15306577_1704553886528219_6429447054338031616_n.jpg

I was in Tokyo when Ryu Ga Gotoku 6 (Yakuza 6) launched, so I had to get a copy! Yakuza series of games are one of my faves. I was stoked.

15403567_1308813899168219_333381516203655168_n.jpg

In Tokyo they had a Parappa the Rapper pop up shop! :O I found out a few days after getting into Tokyo and immediately made plans with a friend to check-it out. They had so many cool things to see/buy there. I even got to play the new PS4 demo in Chop-Chop Master Onion's dojo.

15275629_134318413721612_3797478317821526016_n.jpg

A cool sticker machine let you make your own Parappa the Rapper themed name labels. So I made one with my handle in Japanese!

15253186_633769393473786_2016287846104563712_n.jpg

At the TEKKEN 7 Global Finals event I picked up some Mishima Zaibatsu wristbands & a Devil Jin shirt for my brother.

15337191_1168089389939920_2644233505256505344_n.jpg

I was able to complete my collection of Clock Tower games with this copy for the Wonderswan. Also picked up the hard to find Hori Command Stick PS, first revision.

15276516_1609540939351261_7667087450283442176_n.jpg

Some relics of the past. A snazzy Street Fighter II Turbo guide for Super Famicom and a copy of Arcader from who knows how long ago lol.

15338427_347846292243638_3847582208000786432_n.jpg

Picked up a new (old) Supreme beanie, a copy of one of my favorite SNES era RPGs, Crows Burning Edge for PS4 and an absolutely AMAZING Dragon Ball Z cap.

15306718_1632526467041823_5452930447967256576_n.jpg

Like many people, I also got a copy of Final Fantasy XV, but I also got a Christmas card from CEO of Square Enix, Matsuda-san.

14733336_539584802907549_3239213009784012800_n.jpg

You can never have too much Castlevania in your life. <3

15538198_160307797784401_6147695696481878016_n.jpg

That boost life. My brother scored a bunch of Yeezys and got me a pair too.

15535602_691620584353141_828428272898408448_n.jpg

My friends at Jordan Brand sent me a bunch of goodies (not pictured) but also sent me more pins; which I have a pretty healthy collection of now!

15624340_103533873483237_6920949174523396096_n.jpg

The Pokemon Company Intl. sent me a lovely holiday card and ornament.

15623798_1833191783623155_7392399243454971904_n.jpg

Lord Aris of Avoiding the Puddle gifted me this awesome shirt, which is obviously a reference to the original Resident Evil game. <3

15803305_737548406401822_2014938242826108928_n.jpg

One of the HOTTEST sneakers of the year. This amazing collab between Nike and Acronym was just crazy with the attention to detail, the amount of different materials used and the overall comfort/feel. Love it!

15624659_1193595880716842_2387245172187463680_n.jpg

Final boost of the year from KITH X Adidas. The first mid Ultra Boost is just lovely. If you don't know about Ultra Boost sneakers, these are hands down the most comfortable sneakers you'll probably ever stick your feet into.

That's all I got for December 2016! Have a great New Year!

Have a good one, GAF! If you'd like to follow my adventures, please follow me on twitter or instagram.

Here's my end of the month haul for December 2016:

Needed more hard disk drive space on the PS4 Pro and jumped on a 2TB Firecuda SSHD. This thing loads games fast!

Yup. I bought a Japanese New 3DS LL just for this collection:

Alright! Happy New Year everyone!

I'll start with my favourite pickups of 2016:
- Fire Emblem Fates Limited Edition (3DS): was a bit of a hassle to get a hold of a copy of this LE, so I was really pleased I managed to actually do so.
- Summon Night 5 (PSP): most likely the last ever physical release in the West of what was a pretty great console. Also, I love the shipping box.
- Ninjakun - Ashura no Shou (MSX): I mainly got this game for its gorgeous cover art. The game is pretty good too though.
- Frogger (MSX): very hard to acquire a complete copy of this one, so I'm very pleased I did.
- Tengai (PS2): excellent shoot 'em up on a platform that is not particularly known for it.
- Dragon Blaze (PS2): another fine shoot 'em up
- Gradius Gaiden (PSOne): this game took me my surprise. I love it.
- Shovel Knight (PSVita): I bought A LOT of Vita games in 2016. This is by far the best of them. Shovel Knight is an instant-classic in my book.

Games I bought/received in December 2016:

PS2 games: Space Channel 5 Part 2, Second Sight, Dropship - United Peace Force, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas - Oogie's Revenge
Space Channel 5 Part 2 seems to be fairly uncommon. Was happy to complete the set with this copy.

GameCube: R:Racing
This is a copy of the game that came with the Pacman VS bonus disc.

Wii games: Skylanders Superchargers Racing, Just Dance, Just Dance 2, Just Dance 3 Special Edition, NBA Jam
I got the Skylanders game pack for less than the cost of the Bowser amiibo, so yeah...
Not really a dancer myself. I got the Just Dance games for my sisters. Every year around Christmas, my family still gets the Wii (= my Wii) out, and party games and multiplayer games get played.

PSOne games: Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition, Mickey's Wild Adventure, Ore no Ryouri
Fellow GAFer meppi told me to get Ore no Ryouri, so I got it. :)

PSVita games: Senran Kagura Estival Versus, Code Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~, Call of Duty - Black Ops Declassified, Norn 9 - Var Commons, One Piece - Burning Blood, Exist Archive, Stealth Inc. A Clone in the Dark Ultimate Edition, Shiren The Wanderer - The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate

PS3 games: Resistance Collection

GB game: Nemesis
Ended up giving this one to my brother.

My daughter saved up all her money (with help from her mom that I'm not supposed to know about ) and got this for me because I bought Menasor last month and she knows I want to start collecting.

We just spent the last hour or so transforming them back and forth.

She now loves Transformers and is bugging me to get Devastator

We couldn't combine them because , for an 8 year old, she has one hell of a busy
schedule. I swear , I'm going to be cheesin all day!! <3 :-D

Got a few small things today.

New NMDs. The White / Grey's weren't in my size, but still happy with the blacks.

Wanted to pick this up for a while since a lot of people say good things about it. Excuse the poor quality photo, but it is fitting.

Finally, another book I've wanted to get for a while but I was waiting for it to be pretty cheap.

Christmas gifts and pickups.

First purchase of 2017 and also the last non-essential purchase until May.
Late to the party as always, but I loved Ground Zeroes so much I had to get this.
Was a pain to find around here, but luckily I managed to find one last copy after diving into the budget bin.

I now finally own a legit copy of Wild Guns. I'll never own the original, so this is good enough for me!

Mail man just dropped off my Kaby Lake i7 7700k. Same day delivery FTW. Hyped to upgrade from my 2600k!

Ooooooh, I didn't know this was a thing. How's the movie (plot/characters/etc) and how's the video quality?

It's the most brutal and beautiful Gundam anime I've ever seen.
The art is even better than the Gundam Origin in my opinion (that's the reason I buy the 4K version).
But the plot/story and characters is okay, nothing much about it yet.
This is just the 1st season only (just 4 episode) and I'm so exciting for the 2nd season!

Happy New Year everyone!

Most expensive pick up of 2016, which I never got around to posting until now: a brand new desktop build!

Old: Q6700 @ stock
4GB DDR2
AMD 5770 1GB
Mechanical HDDs
Antec 300 case
Some Artic Pro Cooling heatsink
Served like a champ until the end. Soon to be put to sleep.

New:
I7 6700K
Noctua U14S heatsink
16GB DDR4 3200MHZ
Asus Z170-A mobo
Gigabyte 6GB 1060 GPU
500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
Fully modular EVGA PSU
Windows 10 Pro
Fractal Design Define S
A New IPS Asus monitor to double up with my existing one
Elgato HD60 Capture card

The contrast from one system to another is like night and day!

Free headset which I gave to my GF:

Some WIP/finished pictures. I'm not one for LED Las Vegas Strip cases, so with the side panels on, its a quiet, and fairly discreet system.

Next up: Pokemon TCG. I remembered a guide I had back around 2000 as a child, which showed some amazing Pokemon cards set on tropical islands, and what turned out to be a card called 'Happy Birthday Pikachu', and lots more. Found a copy on Ebay for nostalgia purposes.

As I flipped through that, I came arcross these promo binders which were released during the course of generation 2. Thinking they would be expensive, it turned out that like the vast majority of promos printed during the Wizards era they were pretty damn cheap, even sealed.

3DS' seem to be in hugely short supply in the UK, so I made a gamble, and paid £180 for this New 3DS XL, in the belief that I could sell my 3DS XL for an inflated price second hand. It did lol, so in all it's cost me about £40 to upgrade.
Some games to make use of the system

Cheap Amiibos (I just want the basic Mario & Nintendo characters)

PS4 pickups

Time to motivate myself to do some cardio, rather than just pumping iron:

Finally, gifts from the ever amazing girlfiend!

I have these binders! I can't even remember how I came by them but I still have them in my stash somewhere.

They're pretty awesome momentos of the era that serve as their own mini collection, but since they're Japanese only I don't even remember them as a child, so it was nice to discover something new years later.

My mind can't make up whether to open them or not lol. They're cheap enough to buy a sealed set of again and I'm not exactly a serious collector, I just wanted a few things for the sake of nostalgia of my childhood, but then again I know exactly what cards are inside, so I don't think there's much of a legitimate reason to open them!

It was my birthday on Monday and, although I already had a steelbook version of the game, I had to get this as a birthday present. I had my eye on it since before Christmas having missed out on picking up the CE at launch. Thought I'd lost my chance at one point, but alas, I got it!

how much did you pay for all that? can you play all games with Max setting? do you think this rig will last how many years with decent performance? thanks

Got some new stuff in. The Megaman hat and Resident Evil Umbrella Rocks Glass were from Magfest this past weekend. I've been on a Retro and Onimusha kick lately. I also got myself a 60gb PS3 solely for Backwards Compatibility purposes. Although I have a PS2, it's just more convenient this way.

Not pictured: Console Wars, Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII, Seimitsu Keikou buttons, Suzo Happ 45mm Clear Balltop.

It was about $3k total. I've only tested Witcher 3, GTAIV, and Battlefield 1 in 4K @ Ultra and never dipped below 60. I'd say it would last me at least 7 potentially 10 years for 4k gaming at a high level.

While I'm missing Eredin, my WItcher 3 figure set is now as complete as I feel that it needs to be - it's not been an easy task to track them all down here in the UK, without resorting to the extortionate eBay prices!

And then just a few post-Christmas PS4 game pickup - Dragon Age Heroes, Battleborn (it was less than £3, so even if it gets little play from me it's no great loss), Tales from the Borderlands and The Last Guardian:
