Star Wars Force Unleased (360/PS3) details revealed. (PSP and PS2 details too)

From http://www.gamefront.de/, babelfish translation:

New details of Star Wars: Force Unleashed 11.02.07 -

The American Game Informer has new details to the Actiongame star Wars: Force Unleashed (PS3, Xbox 360), which develops with LucasArts

- history plays between star Wars episode III and episode IV Darth Vader recognized that the Emporer had clean-put in, when it pulled into on the dark side of power. Vader knows however that it is too late, to turn around. The only possibility is to destroy the Imperator with another apprentice: This role takes over the player. The action builds Wars episode V on the dialogue from star - The Empire Strikes back up, when Vader said to hatch that he than the Imperator become stronger and could him fall. - the play uses the ' Euphoria engine ' and DMM: DMM is an engine, by which everything receives its completely individual characteristics in the play.

Example you hurls a Stormtrooper with ' Force Push ' into a tree. The tree breaks either in two halves or splinters. If it were a steel wall, then it could leave a dent.

Instead of the developers having to program and animate different conditions of damage, the play calculates these via DMM in real time. - at the beginning one is controlled a trained Sith, that the majority of the forces of power (Force speed, Force Push, Force Lightning, etc.). In the play process will one ever stronger, learns new forces and becomes even more powerful than the Emperor. - the abilities of powers are unbelievably represented:

With the use of ' Force Push ' it looks, as if someone is hit by a cannon ball - for the power forces there is an energy border. Some abilities like e.g.. ' Repulsion ' need a few seconds, before they are available. ' Force Push ' is available against it in unlimited number. - the control pattern follows psi Ops. - history turns around the apprentice, who hunts the remaining Jedi and than Vader becomes stronger.

In a duel one kaempt against Shaak Ti: It created it in ' episode III ' to escape during execution of the order 66 from the Jedi temple living. In StarWars: Force Unleashed has it several Rancors under their control: A Rancor was to be seen e.g. in episode VI in the prison of Jabba the Hutt, for the hunt for hatch Skywalker made. The Rancor can eat the player. But with the help of power the player the Rancor can zerfetzen from the inside out. - there history between the two motion picture films acts, is the end actually already given. The developers stress however that it will probably give alternative end. - Vader will be probably also playable. - one works at multi-player modes. -

StarWars: Force Unleashed looks like a combination of Ninja Gaiden, God OF was, The matrix, 300 and star Wars. - the release: November 2007 (the USA)

Hell yeah!

wouldn't this bit seriously piss off Star Wars fans, as it dumbs down Vader and makes him a "good guy".

He's already been portrayed that way in several comics and novels.

It's not actually trolling if you don't admit it

WOw the plot sounds extremely contrived and retarded, not to mention is flies in the face of actual StarWars cannon. Jebus the player cannot become more powerful than the Emperor.

Even their concept footage screamed StarWars 'TO THE MAX'. THis could seriously end up retarded by how extreme they make it.

It is all about fun.

And, you know, Return of the Jedi.

Regardless, if the concept footage they showed is any indication, it could be quite cool, especially in multiplayer if you're throwing around parts of the level, etc.

Still waiting for a Star Wars Wii game announcement. I think the Wii, overall, has the most potential for making you feel like an actual Jedi, due to the controller abilities as well as, as sad as this may be, light saber sounds coming through the controller speaker.

Great, continue to focus on force powers instead of actual cinematic lightsaber mechanics. Your fanbase had to mod a decent one in with Academy through "Movie Battles"

A sith trying to beat his master with a disciple and take his title? yes, very odd, so odd that Vader tried to do with Skywalker in EP 6. That doen´t make him the "good guy", killing his master is one natural step on Sith's philosophy.

Frankly, I don´t care much of the Star Wars lore, but I like many aspects of the Jedi/Sith, and the combat is by far the most interesting. So if they deliver to make some type of Ninja Gaiden mixed with Psi Ops in steroids, this will be really cool.

Title sounds really lame and if it's anything like the tech demo a from a while back the game will be lame.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed is a dumb name.

It is meant to fit in with the Star Wars universe... cough... Attack of the Clones... cough.

Anyway, it sounds like they are going to make using the force pretty badass, like the tech demo hints at. Watching the Clone Wars cartoon really renewed my interest in Star Wars, and made me wish the over-the-top Godlike force usage of the toon
(Mace Windu moving at light-speed and single-handedly destroying an entire legion of droids and a hovering fortress)
was included in the movies. Hopefully this game will let you have a hint of that godlike power.

I'm really into Star Wars lately so that tech demo blew me away. I've wanted the Force to look like that forever.

As far as Clone Wars, Mace Windu is the ****ing man.

QFT. When I saw that part, I was like, "Wow... how did he lose to the emperor?"

THe Clone Wars is fine for a stylized cartoon, not actual Star Wars though. You need to keep it grounded. I mean Clone Wars isn't exactly cannon with the OT or PT, it's like if someone took the events and then made a very stylized retelling of them in Cartoon form. Mace Windu doesn't actually have the ability to go lightspeed or any of that crap.

Seriously Force Unleashed is going to be pretty lame if if keeps trending towards this Xtreme Starwars BS and ignoring what the core fanbase wants in favor of the mouth breather crowd.

It's not that Darth Vader has a secret apprentice so much as it states that you become more powerful then even the Emperor. THat's not only not cannonical whatsoever, it's also retarded.

I understand it is stylized and probably isn't supposed to reflect true (movie) force usage, which is why I said "over-the-top." However, watching the cartoon piqued my interest in the Star Wars universe, more than anything else has in a long time. I also think Clone Wars is cannon, as it explains why Grevious is weezing, how the emperor was kidnapped at the beginning of ep. III, how Anakin got the scar on his face, how he became a Jedi, and probably other stuff that I can't recall right now.

Of course the Clone Wars series was realized with knowledge of what was going to happen next in Episode III (it was certainly an independent cartoon project :p), but AFAIK, for George Lucas, only the movies are canon (not even the supposed TV series, which should be out in 2008 I think, will be canon).

There are two versions of the story, what is told in the novels and what is told in the cartoons. The Clone Wars is clearly an overexaggeration of the events of the time, but the overall plot seems to be cannon. The novels and cartoon mirrored each other well but they did conflict many times. There really isn't a way to determine which one is more cannon than the other, in a way they are just two versions of the same story.
