WTF is this thread about?
You know when you turn on your PS3 with a game in it, wait a few seconds and then an image comes up when a game is highlighted on the XMB? This thread is an ongoing collection of those images.
Why should I care?
Big HD images are cool. Some people may like to use some images as wallpaper on their PC, or transfer them back over to PS3 as a regular background image. Maybe use as backgrounds on their 360. The images are big enough to be edited down to iPhone/iPad/Android/Smartphone size too I guess.
How were they found?
If you run CFW on PS3, certain homebrew lets you check hidden folders on the PS3 via FTP or other on-board data managers. Once found, You can then transfer the PNG over to your computer. See, not everyone is a pirate!
Where are images for the likes ofUncharted, Killzone, Resistance... I'M RAGING!!!
Images for games like these, and a few others do not show up when looked for. No idea why, but it seems Naughty Dog, Insomniac, and the rest are smarter than us. If a bit more digging is done, and they show up, they will be posted here.
Where is the art from *Obscure Japanese Game 42* I want that!!!
If the art for that game is findable, then it will be posted, although it seems no one with a copy of the game you want is running CFW and has looked for it yet.
Why do the images below look terrible... suck less at compressing!
The below images are low quality JPGs, I used these to help this page load at a decent speed. Click each image for the 1920x1080 original PNG.
What about upcoming games?
They will be added as they are found. If you do not see it in here, and have the set up to find them, then feel free to post the PNG in this thread. I will then edit it into this post. (Upload via min.us, as it does not reduce size/quality)
