Why wouldn't I, right? This is the most important issue facing the video game world today. Years from now we'll look back on this week and wonder why we never kept better tabs on which penises Zoe Quinn had kept surreptitiously inside of her all along.

I must be completely out of the loop since I have no idea what this is even about. Something tells me it is a controversy that is probably best left to be sorted out by the people immediately involved.

I've never really liked debates about personal issues... they were always rampant with jumping to conclusions or rash judgments.

Everyone already has their talking points, and rarely do the details matter to the discussion.

I don't mind if the Zoe Quinn thing never comes here.

I understand why people wouldn't want a thread on this' but from the last thread it seemed like more people were interested in talking about the gaming journalism part of it and didn't really care about who she slept with or whatever.

Is it not possible to separate the two?

The opinions of gamers in regard to journalism and feminism are of great importance to me.

Honestly, nope. Bringing up this subject will bring up this incident, and there's pretty much no way around the fact that this incident involves stuff that shouldn't really be public discourse for anyone.

I'm extremely proud of the general nuking of any of this on the internet. Anyone trying to frame this as "something that needs discussion" should be mocked mercilessly.

I completely agree that nepotism in the video game industry is a very serious subject we need more discussion of. Important questions must be asked about the nature of Capcom's board of directors, and why Ryozo Tsujimoto was appointed the series producer for Monster Hunter after it became the company's most successful franchise.

Quinn's ex posts a long blog post/rant explaining that she cheated on him various times during their relationship. This alone was enough for her to become the target of a personal attack tirade via Twitter.
Additionally, he lists names of games journalists, which has spiraled into the conclusion that Quinn traded sex for favorable coverage of Depression Quest. Reddit's gone into full Boston Bomber mode, insta-deleting just about any talk about the controversy. This has not helped the perception that this entire ordeal is one big conspiracy, perpetrated by Quinn.

It's insane, and a little bit vulgar to be discussing on a gaming forum. I don't blame the GAF mods for smothering any new threads about it.
