Earlier this week Rebellion talked a bit about why getting 1080p on the Xbone is a "pain in the ass" which revolves around the not so sizable eSRAM. Phil Harrison has responded on Twitter that's not the case because of Forza 5 and Kinect Sports Rivals being 1080p

My opinion: Make every game 720p, and use the extra power going down from 1080p to 720p to improve graphics and frame rate. And then improve the scaler.

I'm not sure there will ever be a solution for this "problem" in racing games, and that resources will always be rightfully allocated elsewhere.

Nothing good can come of statements like this. They just need to shut the hell up about stuff like this and not even respond to these things. It only makes them look bad. Just ignore it, put out your games. If you have compelling games people might still buy your system, but don't get into a fight you can't win.

How about the trees? I was so disappointed when I saw the trees in that game. Overall the car models look beautiful but everything else isn't all that impressive. Especially considering it's always sunny in the game.

My only Xbox1 experience thus far was Forza Demo at a Gamestop. I cannot unsee those trees.

Pretty much my opinion. Also Microsoft get to work on improving your tools, the OS overhead, and the system driver. Work tooth and nail to enable revs to suck every last drop of power the xbone can muster.

Microsoft's problem isn't that they should admit to flaws, they don't seem to be any good at highlighting the strengths. I mean, how is it that we only JUSt found out the controller can have it's firmware updated?

Yeah it's nothing groundbreaking, but it's still pretty neat and opens up some interesting possibilities. They should be talking about that sort of stuff.

Forza 5 is really not a very good looking game, so that's not a good example. Kinect Sports Rivals looks fantastic, but an exception is not a rule. It's a pain in the butt to do 1080p on XB1 according to the Rebellion dev, and Phil doesn't refute that. Having a couple of 1080p games is far worse proof of ease of 1080p than the MULTITUDE of sub-1080p games do of the exact opposite.

Fair enough, never really looked at that in the trailer in detail.

I'm just saying otherwise it's a fairly dumb and petty point to use against any game. It literally is the last thing that matters outside of I guess individual grass blade modelling.
