NISA can't do a small limited retail release of Battle Princess of Arcadia on their website? :( Oh well, happy it's coming!

They announced pretty much everything I was hoping for other than Neptune Rebirth. Hopefully it's still coming at some point, maybe by Idea Factory's US branch?

It's a shame they're not doing the Hyperdimension Neptunia Vita games.

The idol game is on Vita, isn't it? Or we're you referring to the remake.

Also, I feel proud for how dead on I was in the OP :D Glad everyone is hyped about Danganronpa 2. Really awesome game.

That's it folks! We got games, well, they may not be completely 'new' but they're new localizations.

Hyped to play Super Danganronpa 2... Again. That game is fucking fantastic

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Woo, Disgaea and Dangonronpa.

Can't wait for capturing someone's hard-earned 300% aptitude characters, then resetting over and over and over again to get perfect items, lol.

That event was everything I was hoping for. I might go out and buy Disgaea again (even though I've tried it twice and didn't really enjoy it xD) just to support NISA. Seriously, you guys are awesome.

I guess it's fairly safe to assume that Disgaea 5 is the PS4 game that they're going to reveal at TGS. They already confirmed that D5 was in development late last year, although they didn't mention a platform.

That would have been my guess had NISA not just announced that they picked up an Idea Factory game (Fairy Fencer F).

True. Idea Factory International has to release something else after Monster Monpiece though, I'd assume. Just localizing one game (that other publishers likely didn't want) wouldn't seem like a good idea, to me anyway.

I guess I didn't make that clear, I meant the remakes not the idol game.
(But if they are doing the idol game, the remakes might be coming sooner or later.)

IFL president Haru Akenaga said in that interview with Siliconera that the company's goal is to be an "information hub for fans" and that they'd also do some localizations. It reads to me that localization is secondary and mainly for games that typically wouldn't release in NA/EU (i.e. Monster Monpiece). Then again, I could just be reading the quote wrong.

Not to mention, a Neptunia game just isn't the same if it doesn't come as a NISA LE.

Funny thing, if you look at the fine print on the websites, neither Neptunia Victory or PP are licensed by NISA. They're actually licensed by Preapp, a joint venture by Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi started by Haru Akenaga (who's now also CEO of Idea Factory International).

Or maybe DanganRonpa: Another Episode.

They'll go all out!

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. Hopefully one of them will bring it over, the series is popular here.

Nah, unless NIS is helping the development of that with Spike Chunsoft, can't see that as their PS4 game.

It's probably Disgaea 5 or Asagi finally gets a game.
I know, I was just teasin'.

They should pull another stunner and confirm AE right after DR2 comes out though, keep the hype train at full speed.

And here's my pick-up from the NISA event this evening:

Because Monokuma is already on the cover, Mr. Terasawa normally wouldn't draw him. He made an exception for mine lol.

this second picture makes more sense with your statements then the cookies you originally had :p

I am jelly for the record... of the doodle and the fact that you were there :p
Is anything about disgaea 4 going to be different from the ps3 version aside from the subtitle?

all dlc included, new spell levels, a new character or two and I think a few features from disgaea d2.

I really need to try the Disgaea series sometime.

Is anything about disgaea 4 going to be different from the ps3 version aside from the subtitle?

Here's what the PR says:

New Vita-exclusive content and features:
- Tons of bonus content, including brand-new scenarios exclusive to this release, adding
more backstory to some of your favorite characters.
- New characters, as well as cameo appearances by characters from previous Disgaea
games.
- A new tier of spells, job specific techniques, as well as other gameplay enhancements.
- Includes all of the downloadable content that was available on the PS3 version.
- Brand new music tracks have been added for a total nearing 100 enjoyable tunes.
- Features beautiful Hi-res sprites that look even better on the Vita’s OLED screen.
- And more!

I was confused at first before you changed the picture.

I thought he baked you some evil cookies.

I would be jelly if I actually had the retail game for someone to sign.

But still jelly at attending the event.

Damn. That sounds cool, but not sure whether ill double dip yet. I put over 200 hours into disgaea 4 for the plat, kind of burned me out. Still though... Hard to resist

Same, I've never played any of them. I have the Vita version of 3 thanks to PS+ so maybe I'll give it a try someday.

I have that too - luckily the PSP versions of Disgaea and Disgaea 2 (as well as Disgaea Inifinite) are also on PSN, so I can marathon them all on Vita someday. The best way to play SRPGs of course.

as much as i love disgaea it should be noted that it's definitely not for everyone.

that being said 4 is a great entry point into the series.

All you really need to play is Disgaea 1. Each game in the series is worse than the last. The first game is by far the best.

SRPGs have become my favorite genre, so even though the artstyle is a little odd to me, I think it's worth checking out. And I'll play the games in order, I always do when visiting franchises new to me, continuity or no.

personally I find disgaea 1 to be the worst. It's the only game in the series I won't replay because it's to grindy. (still quite worth playing if you are new to the series though)

the others I get through the story by goofing around in item world at a pace I naturally do, disgaea 1 I have to force myself to grind levels at times due to difficulty spikes and a far less interesting item world to get me to go play there.

The cast is better in 1 than 2 by far (but to be fair the cast/story only matters for the first 20-30 hours, the 100-1000 hours after that it doesn't matter :p), but I find 2 to be superior in pretty much every other possible way. three and 4 basically use a different system so it's not a fair comparison to 1 and 2 but easily D2 has the best mechanics of 1 2 and D2... the story isn't very good though in D2...

SRPGs have become my favorite genre, so even though the artstyle is a little odd to me, I think it's worth checking out. And I'll play the games in order, I always do when visiting franchises new to me, continuity or no.

If you are willing to devote the time and energy to disgaea playing them in order isn't a bad idea (infinite comes sometime after 1... can't recall if the 2 cast is in it at all) just... don't be crazy and go for a 100% :p

and yeah the art is a little weird, but there really isn't another srpg out there that goes to the crazy power levels that disgaea does... the really nice part about the disgaea series is that you always feel like you are getting more powerful.

Disgaea 3 on the Vita is very good. I stopped playing since I got a bit overwhelmed by everything you could do that game....
