Xbox One Download Games |OT| News, Announcements, Reviews, and Impressions Thread

Zero. Console and marketplace are region free, so there's no issues with buying from a different regions marketplace.

So are all disc games region free also? I am very surprised.

How does someone go about changing marketplace region and using a different currency then? I am guessing it's similar to the 360 using a different gamertag?

It's as easy as going to setting and changing region, you can even do it xbox.com as well.
Use your main gamertag across regions too.

What is this? Information with no source?! No link?! This is not Banjo way!

(I assume its true tbf, otherwise PS4 would have been announced at the time, but still)
Haha, sorry. I was looking at that Indie Mix site. When Devs apply for the event they select what platforms their game is coming on, and here is Roundabout's: http://www.mediaindieexchange.com/event/8071e4bb1fd5/developer/11

Now, obviously that isn't 100% confirmation, but it seems a PS4 version isn't planned based on that... So it's some assumptions by me I guess :p

Rally, that simple? if you get banned for something like that it's all microsoft.

I don't think it's bannable, Ms moved from a completely region free setup for all of their digital stores (W8 and WP8 too).

Of course, they might change in the future, but as of now it's a feature, not some of exploit that would get you banned on.

thanks everyone, I gave it a go and it's easier then ever, I just don't have my bank card tied to live so it's useless to me right now.

Well my credit card was killed after switching and buying in the US store once because the cc vendor thought someone stole my cc details bla. So you might consider this.

I have the exact same problem with my bank. As soon as I put in a fake US address I get the fraud team phoning me 10 seconds later.

I'm just going to play it safe and buy games from my own region.

Xbox Gift Cards are your best option.

I have some money on my account right now (uk) but it was not showing on the us store, I am guessing I could buy us credit and apply it?

Comparing some prices like the ryse sale and such the different is only a few quid but it would be nice for region deals in the future unless microsoft have learned from their mistakes.

I've been there too, but I talked to the bank and asked to unblock my cc.

Also, PayPal is an option if you try to switch to the Us region. They even charge you on you local coin so you won't get taxed.

Pffft! Who needs CoD when Titanfall is around the corner?

PS - I saw the list of questions that you want Phil Spencer to read. I approve.

Also

who is your avatar?

Thanks! Im glad, wordpress tells me where links have been clicked from and I've seen some other people say that they like them as well.

My avatar is Abigail Spencer she's in Suits <3

About Peggle 2...

Before today I have never seen any gameplay of the game except the thumbnails of videos in Upload and was totally turned off by the artwork. Well, tonight I was at an engagement party for my best friend and the guy's whose house we were at had an Xbox One and we started to play Peggle 2. Oh my dear God why have I not played this game earlier?!?! We played for hours passing around the controller and immediately when I got home I downloaded to my Xbox One.

I'm completely hooked.

I beat Peggle 2 (except all the challenges) about two days after release. Have they fixed the "make a video every 5 seconds" bit on it?

I really don't know where to post this but is SmartGlass app working for everyone?
If I go to my recent activity or achievements it's nothing there. Win8 and WP8.

I logged in and out and rebooted the Xbox a few times, not sure what else to do. I also checked privacy settings and all seems fine. I wonder if others see my stuff?

I can see your achievements via compare games on Xbox One, but on smartglass it says "Your friend has not unlocked any achievements recently), game clips are there. Recent activity isn't there either "When they play media on their Xbox One, it will show up here"

Okay same for me. Seems like the Xbox is not syncing stuff correctly, weird.
Thanks!

Trials Fusion confirmed for April 16th, will update the OP in a bit

Also, Sixty Second Shooter by Happion Labs is being developed for Xbox One at the moment, the developer has been twitch streaming it and when I asked him about it on twitter he said he has a verbal agreement with MS and doesn't expect any issues. Twin stick shooter, looking forward to it

Double post, sorry but new game announced:

There Came an Echo unveiled for Xbox One - Kinect strategy starring Will Wheaton

Youtube video which looks pretty cool, voice based stuff looks interesting.

So what's There Came an Echo about, then? Well, it takes place in the near future, and allows you to order a small, Syndicate-style group of soldiers (including Crusher's Earth-based alter ego Wil Wheaton) around various hand-drawn isometric maps. There's a set of pre-defined voice commands - e.g. "open fire", "[unit name], head to [map objective]" - which are assembled from a vocab sheet of 500 words. The options are fairly complex - individual mines can be detonated using voice commands, and you can tell automated turrets to attack specific enemy units.

More at the link

I'm not a big RTS strategy fan but in Feep I trust. I will be all over Along Came an Echo if it uses kinect for voice coms.
Indies really have a fantastic opportunity to utilise kinect and smartglass in ways that the large corps won't bother because of market statistics and AAA budgets.

It does. The article says you can control it entirely by voice with up to 500 commands built in, or you can use a controller if you want.

edit: About your second part, I agree, theres a LOT of room for innovation and cool ideas.
