Sorry for reviving this thread, but wouldn´t it be interesting to keep it up to date (or is there a new one)?

A few updates:
  • Naughty Dog #2 - Uncharted (PS4)
  • Housemarque #2 - Dead Nation 2 (at least there was a teaser a few months ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7C40H375eds) (PS4)
  • Polyphony - obviously working on GT7 for PS4 (I think that´s not officially announced, but probably a no brainer - first Yamauchi talked about a PS4 version of GT6 but later on he said, that they probably would name it GT7)
Also, a few titles were already released:
  • Knack, Puppeteer, Rain - What will come from Japan Studios after that? Everyone working now on TLG? :p
  • Killzone SF, Killzone Mercenary - New Vita game for Guerilla Cambridge? The Shadowfall team probably moves over to support full production of the new IP
  • Beyond Two Souls - probably the team moves on to support the PS4 project with more manpower

Any other updates regarding Sonys first party line up?

Sony is currently spread pretty thin between the PS3, PS4, and Vita. Hopefully PS3 development is pretty much over at this point and they can put all their studios on PS4 (with one or 2 Vita games on the side in total).

Shu has said ALL of their teams are working on a PS4 game.

Since Atlus and Grasshopper is listed, shouldn't Namco Bandai be listed for Tales of ____ (PS4) and that Idea Factory also confirmed they had something in the works for PS4 too.

Just a little opinion on the Japan Studio segmentation. Given the size of Japan Studio's scope of development, I think it would be clearer if it's separated as :

Japan Studio #1 - ? (PS4/Vita) (just released Knack for PS4 headed by Mark Cerny)
Japan Studio #2 - ? (PS4/Vita) (just released Puppeteer for PS3 headed by Gavin Moore)
Japan Studio #3 - The Last Guardian (PS4) (lol)
Japan Studio #4 - Gravity Daze/Rush 2 ( Vita )

Japan Studio Ext.Development #1 - Soul Sacrifice Delta (Marvelous AQL)
Japan Studio Ext.Development #2 - Freedom Wars (SHIFT, Dimps)
Japan Studio Ext.Development #3 - Over My Dead Body 2 (Alfa Systems)
Japan Studio Ext.Development #4 - ? (Just released Destiny of Spirits)
Japan Studio Ext.Development CAMP - ? (Just released Rain)

Rumour : PS4 title in development by the Ext.Dev team.

Any info about this one so far?

Other than its development has been running concurrently with Beyond, not much.

The most we can take away from it is that it's not a 'start-from-scratch' project.

Any info about this one so far?
A little yeah:

  • Working title: Singularity (likely not final because of Activision copyright)
  • GAF insider teased it will be based on the Kara tech demo (sci-fi, robots)
  • Job postings on their website pretty much confirm sci-fi
  • Possibly some form of online/multiplayer feature
  • Possibly open world like their first game Omikron (job postings looking for AI designers strongly hint at this)
  • 3 writers working on it indicating a lot of branching, dialogue or content in general
  • In active development since August 2012 by a second team (reveal likely in 2014 or early 2015)
  • Pre-production already finished
  • Release in late 2015 or 2016
  • PS4 exclusive (duh)

Take all of this with a grain of salt obviously.

2+2=5

The Amiga Brotherhood
You forgot that someone(lol) is making the (pointless)GOW Collection and Dead Nation ports for Vita.
Over My Dead Body 2 too.

Sony London Working on a “Very High-Profile” New IP for PS4, More Titles, “Will Push Creativity, User-Experience, and Technology to Incredible New Heights”

December 21, 2013 Written by Sebastian Moss

fVvhJF1.png

Long before the PlayStation 4 was even official, we let you know that SCE London Studio was creating a PS4 graphics library that aimed to “set the bar for the industry” visually, but we knew little about what those tools would actually be used for. Now, we’ve found the first clues hinting at their upcoming PlayStation 4 games, giving us a peek at the future.

Before we get into it, it’s important to note that SCE London is much like SCEA’s Sony Santa Monica, in that they help countless developers create PlayStation games, so the studio has already helped release the PS4 title The Playroom. One team at SCE London, however, has begun work on an entirely new IP for PS4, and apparently it’s a big one. A Sony job listing says (emphasis added):
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant or Associate Producer to join a new team working on new IP for the next-generation of gaming.

Continuing:
The work is highly varied and a great opportunity to work with SCEE’s development studios on a very high-profile project whilst learning more about the broader video games industry.

Another job listing for SCE London gives further details, saying:
Building on over eighteen years at the forefront of PlayStation development, we’re now embarking on exciting new concepts that will push creativity, user-experience, and technology to incredible new heights.

And:
This is a great opportunity for a game-play programmer to join our project team at the beginnings of a new title – helping to define, and ultimately deliver, a completely new PS4 experience for the studio.

But while the high profile new IP is still in the early stages, that doesn’t mean it’ll be a long time before we see a SCE London game on PS4 – the studio is split up into various teams (for example, the SingStar team are likely making another entry in the singing franchise, hopefully for PS4), and numerous job listings make mention of multiple “PS4 titles.”

Unfortunately, before you get too excited, it’s important to note that it’s likely that the games are mass market casual titles, with every SCE London job listing saying:
We have a mission to create innovative and market leading games with broad market appeal in terms of play and entertainment.

What do you want from SCE London’s high profile IP? Let us know genre, plot and setting wishlists in the comments below, and feel free to share your ultimate game concepts for everyone to steal.

Really weird additions. Deep Down I can understand, because Sony's helping with development, but these ones? They're entirely third party.

Nice list otherwise, though it's missing BigFest, Hell Divers and CounterSpy (all second party games).

Had no idea how little we knew about many of their studios. Sooo many announcements to look forward to this year. E3 should be awesome. It makes sense given how many studios released a game in the last year and a half.

The listing says they are just beginning development. So that particular game won't be out until probably 2016.

and they haven't put out anything resembling AAA on in the past generation, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Thanks. The possibility of Quantic Dream developing a scifi game makes me excited. The online/MP/open world aspects not so much though.

Still long time partners and exclusive to PlayStation, so I think people want to see them. Especially since it could result in some PS4 exclusives later on.

If this really happens, you can be sure it won't be anything like GTA. No free driving around and killing people left and right. Think of Omikron, if you ever played it. QD's first game. Open world with multiple locations of interest (police station, morgue, store, bank, apartment) that are connected. You can explore the city on foot or take a cab etc.

It allowed for some interesting mission design. Regarding online, it will probably be 2 player co-op. Think of Journey and what it brought to the game. I'm really excited if it happens, because it would be different than every other open world game on the market for sure.

Uh, Atlus have developed more games for the 3DS this year than they've done on the PS3 for the entire generation (and Catherine wasn't even exclusive). While Grasshopper have made one PS exclusive in the last 7 years (a PSP game).

That aside, sorry but I think expanding the thread's scope to all PlayStation exclusives (or worse, possible exclusives) instead of just Sony first/second party games is a futile exercise and moving dangerously close to list wars territory. I can understand why you did it but I just don't think it's a good idea.

The thread that was just closed got me curious. So we can assume ND has been working on U4 since U3 wrapped up. That's only about 2 years of preproduction and dev time. A 2014 release cuts it close unless it's just a next gen Uncharted+ of sorts I'm thinking.

3 years if it's the end of 2014. They were releasing them every 2 years on PS3, they get an extra year this time!

3 years should be enough unless ND is doing something really ambitious. None of past uncharted games have been very big scope wise so they should absolutely be ready.

lol true. They are wizards that pulled off U:DF in 2007 after all. Still, I think its going to be cutting it close and could easily be delayed. New hardware, bigger scope (probably), bigger team. Which is why if it comes out next year I think its going to mostly be an Uncharted on steroids. Not that that's horrible or anything.

ND space game will be the real deal in 2016.

I don't think The Last of Us 2 will be set in space.

Neil Druckmann has said he and Bruce Straley are looking into a new IP. It's not safe to assume that a sequel to TLoU will happen immediately following. We should all hope for a new IP since it allows Druckmann to come back to TLoU with a fresh perspective and the fanbase having had enough time to "miss" the series.

Just look at how giddy everyone was with a seconds-long teaser trailer for "The Last of Us: Left Behind", I immediately bought the graphic novel

Had a small chat with Jonathan Hawkins, from SSM. He's the Lead Level Designer on the new IP, and worked on GOW 1,2,3 as well. Asked him about the new IP and why we haven't seen anything from it yet, and he basically said that they're building everything from scratch and it takes a lot to do that and work up from nothing. He did say, on his Twitter, that he came back from a vacation and saw his game and went 'Fuck, this is coooooooooooool'.

Im hoping they show this soon!

A detective game where you examine the crime scene and such in 2-player co-op would be a great experience.

I think Housemarque 2 ended up doing "Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition". So... two question marks now? :p

Not really.
Thought "Climax Studios" did the main work.
So Housemarque is working on Dead Nation 2.
