How can you possibly list 'potential stumbling with VR in GDC'? It hasn't happened yet, and you put it on the negative list?

You say no hype for InFamous, but the US InFamous bundle is doing better on Amazon preorders than the XBO TitanFall bundle. You can't possibly know how it'll sell. It won't outsell TitanFall of course, but it's going to be a fine seller.

I just checked and Titanfall is 6th, Titanfall bundle is 10th, Infamous 19th
Can't find an Infamous bundle.

Correct me if I am wrong, but, game software have to be specially designed with VR in mind right? If so, then I absolutely see that as diversion of resources and something only first party and some third party will implement depending on the success of the device. And if the headset is $100~200, then I cannot say that for sure if its a home run or not.

Again correct me if I am wrong, but it reminds me for 3D/ Move fad.

I was just going on some screens someone posted a couple of days ago, I guess it's changed, my apologies.

And if it ends up being a fad, or a bomb, fine, I just don't see why you'd include it in mistakes Sony have made, when they've yet to even announce it.

Sorry for replying to this so late.

Titanfall is absolutely the biggest game of the year until Destiny comes out. Its the game with most hype that is not only associated with Xbox (like COD/BF), but not on PS systems. That a huge get for MS and there is no reason why they should not be flailing it around as much as they can. Titanfall aside, I personally think they are doing better so far in having buying the Gears IP, in Phil Spencer doing a damn good job hyping people about Xbox games on twitter, and in the recent price cut. All positive news, and MS should be commended for that.

Sony on the other hand:
-canned SSM ip
-no DriveClub info at all
-fumbling The Order 1886 reveal. They showed the wrong stuff (in my humble opinion)
-potential stumbling with VR in GDC
-No Infamous hype despite the potential it has. (I am probably wrong on this one)

Such a step down compared to their amazing job last year. Which is a shame because apparently insiders tell us of the amazing games in development @ WWS, but that doesn't matter because we nothing about them. S###, they could cancel them too like the SSM game.

TitanFall is not the biggest game of this year come on !!! There's no singleplayer, it looks subpar when compared to other productions comming at the same time frame : Everything's in place for this game to become irrelevant after 3 weeks.

Do we really want to list things that literally haven't happened as Sony bungling at this point?

As for MS, how is it all positive? This year they killed the new IP from Black Tusk, introduced two $25 accessories, both times with bad, conflicting information they later had to correct about how they worked, announced Twitch integration is finally coming with two "exclusive features" the PS4 has actually had since launch, had to deal with resolutiongate after resolutiongate (which incredibly included Penello doubling down on his patently false hardware parity claims), introduced a "black screen of death" bug in their last firmware update and introduced us all to the Xbox* meme as their sales have flagged around the world (queue panic price cuts, bundles and retailer discounts all over). Oh, and they haven't talked about a single game except Titanfall while Sony has been promoting InFamous, The Order, MLB, Hohokum, Dead Nation and a whole raft of Indies that are coming out over the next couple months. Meanwhile ID@Xbox keeps announcing lists of studios who may one day release an Xbox One game possibly.

It was GameStop not Amazon.

He was right. We know absolutely nothing about the device, yet you already see it as an absolute failure.

It could be a success, but could also not do well on the market.

Edit: I consider it and Add-on device after console purchase, and only a few of those ever do well.

That's not a certainty if you compare only XBO sales to PS4 sales omitting 360 and PC for TF.
Also - no, TF is not the biggest game of the year. Not even close. Ground Zeroes is likely to sell better and Watch Dogs will surely sell better. And then comes Destiny and autumn releases.

This post is fantastic. Pointing out a cancelled new IP from Sony while ignoring the other cancelled new IP from Black Tusk. No info on DriveClub while ignoring the lack of info on Sunset Overdrive or Quantum Break. "Potential stumbling" of VR despite being no information whatsoever other than a rumor it might appear at GDC.

And my favorite, the lack of infamous hype despite preorders for the Infamous bundle being higher than the Titanfall bundle even though it is $70 more.

If there was a vote for the console warrior post of the month. Your post would take it easily.

I didn't say it was going to be the best selling game of the year, CoD, Assassin's Creed, Destiny, probably Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, etc, are all going to sell better.

I don't think GZs will personally, but who knows.

After last gen, I don't see why anyone is worried. Sony produced games, some of the biggest new franchises of the gen and some of the most critically acclaimed games.

Microsoft? I'd be worried. Sony? They get a by because from PS1 to PS3, they have never given an indication they won't support their consoles, even if it means killing their handhelds.

The only thing ive seen in PR from Microsoft is Titanfall this Titanfall that.
And yet Microsoft is absolutely schooling Sony in the advertising department while Sony's marketing team for games as usual is like that one shitty marketing group from second year Advertising which composes of all the students the other groups didn't want to pick. I can't be the only one who thinks the Order 1886 is most likely going to be amazing and a lot of the hype was killed by Sony's terrible marketing the previous few weeks. Where are the inFamous bundles and spammed commercials on TV? I have yet to see one. EB Games on the other hand is teaching Sony how to do market their 2nd biggest exclusive IP of the year by putting it in a bundle and it is selling very well at the store. I wouldn't doubt it if EB Games send them the numbers and Sony then chooses to make it a bundle.

I like their new commercials, much better than the crying babies and seem to get the point a lot better. Their overall message has been on point and handled incredibly well. Think of it this way, why is this weird consensus that Microsoft seems to have the games while Sony needs them, when in reality it's quite even? Which one is doing the better marketing for games? I know Gaf is making fun of the hyperboles MS is using with Titanfall and to us core gamers it's silly, but I'm pretty confident advertising wise, they're doing a pretty nice job of hyping it up for more casual gamers.

It's pretty clear that overall message Sony is hitting home runs everywhere they go and doing as usual a shit job in advertising games. While Microsoft has been doing the complete opposite with the xBone.

people have already pointed out your mistake, let's try not to turn this thread into a wank fest of "I stand on the side with the best PR"

If the games are good, they are good forever. I have zero interest in in every MS exclusive so far. Different strokes, it's obvious your trying to declare a coldcut universal failing at Sony. The skeletons at ms are piled in a closet, but its not like that detracts from your interest in them. Same goes for this, Sony has done a ton right.
