Is Hush the main villain in Rocksteady’s next Batman game?

I think you guys are assuming way too much about this being an actual adaptation of the comic. It's just talking about the character, and we've all expected him to be part of the sequel given the sidequest in Arkham City.

I wish Rocksteady could just design all the game parts and then outsource the writing and art design to WB Montreal, who did a better job.

Out of all of the rogues they could pick, they pick Hush. Why not The League of Assassins in full? Why no Beyond game?

It could work. Hush -> Heart of Hush -> (Hush was actually sent by the Black Glove to help kill Batman) -> Batman R.I.P -> Bruce Wayne dies.

Something like that could work for me.

So seriously, in Origins
It turned out to be the joker again?!
Jesus christ.

Oh yeah,
I made the mistake of thinking each assassin was a main boss and then black mask would be the final big bad but then Joker stuff showed up and when you next meet black mask he whips off the mask and ta-daaa! it's the Joker. Strange thing is, I didn't want Joker to be the main vocal point of the game (again) but he was actually the best part of Origins

They should go with Court of Owls instead of Hush imo.

I don't have anything against Hush, the villain, but his debut comic sucked, just like all of Loeb's Batman comics.

Arkham City basically slaps you in the face with this, so I'm not really surprised. Very cool, and by default better than Joker again.

The Hush story will be cool and all but I really want to know what new innovative changes will be made? I'm waiting for that Batman game where you access to all of gotham with the different districts and people roaming the streets as you stalk in the shadows are travel in the batmobile or plane. I don't want to see the 3rd batman being stuck in arkham again and I also don't want it to be held back graphically by ps360.

I had just read The Long Halloween and caught win of the hype around this story arc. Boy was I disappointed. Also everything else I have read by Loeb pretty much sucked.

For me there's one exception that proves the rule with Loeb : A Superman for All Seasons. Leagues better than any of the Batman stuff he wrote.

As much as I love Rocksteady and their Batman games, if this is the best they can come with then it really reaffirms my belief that they should have lent their talent to something brand new.

I think in retrospect they went too big with a villain overload in Arkham City, and that game already came with the downside that not a lot of them got as much focus as they did in the more linear Arkham Asylum. Now they're kind of running out of names to choose from and there's a huge risk of retreads.

I'm not too excited for this.

WB Montreal outsourced the story to the former Assassin's Creed lead writer. I didn't think the sequence of events was good, or made much sense, in Origins but they did write the characters well, to their credit. I thought the story in Asylum and City were far better (and I thought the City 'twist' was "Would you kindly" levels of brilliant).

They did do a great job on the cutscenes, though. Rocksteady would do well to learn from them in that aspect.

As someone who just finished up Arkham Origins this morning, can't me in the "do not want" department. I agree with the poster that said that Rocksteady needs to overhaul the combat system to make the game feel fresh again. This is coming from someone who beat AA and AC multiple times across multiple platforms. LOVE those games.

I wish those TMNT rumors turned out to be true...

Let's be honest it most likely will be some adaptation of the storyline. Maybe Dini can salvage it and make it better for the game. That is if Dini is actually writing it.

I wish they used the Black Glove if only because it would come out of left field for most people and you'd have a mastermind that isn't the fucking Joker, just once.

Of all the villains to make a sequel for, why Hush? The whole reason for Thomas Elliot's existence was because people figured out that it was Jason Todd under the bandages and and after hyping up the mystery of who Hush was the writer needed a way to surprise the audience, so he created a person tied to Bruce Wayne's childhood that we had no prior knowledge of. His whole character is a cop out.

WB Montreal are the real Batman imposters here.

They've done Rocksteady's good work a grave injustice, seemingly. Origins wasn't made by Rocksteady, but rather by a less talented studio playing it safe.

They need to announce Arkham Origins Complete Edition already. I think the last one was only 6 months later.

As far as Hush, I've never read any of the comics with him in it. What is his super power?

Well that's the problem, we don't know how talented that studio is, because they played it too safe. Which I get, first game and all that but I thought they had some pretty cool ideas they just didn't flesh out. Like the crime scene investigation.

I doubt The Joker is in this game because Mark Hamill won't be back.

Hopefully they can use the money they save by having Conroy voice Hush on something non-Joker related.

There's going to be Joker DLC, isn't there?

Court of Owls must take a center piece.

I'd rather see Origins 2, if there is ever one, deal with that.

It would be more interesting to see a cocky young Batman get entirely fucked up, realize that he has weakness', and meet Dick Grayson. Play as Dick as you rescue Batman and earn his trust. Some mech Batman moments. Flashbacks. Dick being born to be a... well, you'd know if you read the run. Add some Killing Joke to pad it out and get Troy Baker a paycheck. It could all tie up nicely, and explain the progression towards the stoic badass that is the Asylum Batman. He's been through shit, yo!

Didn't stop them in Origins and to be fair I thought Troy Baker did a great job.

Sure but i highly doubt Rocksteady would take anyone other than Hamill to voice the Joker.

and yes i totally agree, Baker was surprisingly good in Origins.

Edit: Well looks like Dini won't be back for another Batman game. I remember an interview where Hamill said he will only be back if Dini is writing the story. Oh well.

What about the Suicide Squad?
I mean at the end of Arkham Origins,Amanda Waller appeared to Slade at his Prison Cell, so we might be seeing them

Meh ... the next one of these I'll buy will be Batman Beyond. If they don't do that, then not really interested. However, I know this arc has fans, so I'm sure the game will be fantastic for them. Hope it does well so that they can actually get to making a Batman Beyond game.

In some vague form? Yeah, probably. But the games already spoiled the big mystery about who Hush is. Of course, there's only so much you can do with Hush, so it's inevitable it'll share similarities to his debut arc,

It's likely that Azrael's prophecy will play a big part in the sequel too, which seems like it'd be a much more grand story than anything revolving around Hush.

We'll see.

Why? I remember him getting butthurt over not being asked back for Arkham 3, then suddenly not talking about it. Rocksteady probably informed him that Arkham 3 wasn't their project, and that he's onboard for Arkham 4. He was probably so disappointed because he had plans for the sequel.

I anticipate that Arkham 4 is being written by Dini.

Edit:
*Hadn't seen the Twitter image*

Wait, wha ... ? Oh shit, now I'm worried.

Check my edit.

Random twitter guy: "Are you writing for that game AFTER Origin?"

Paul Dini: "Nope".

It can't be anymore clear than that.

Its not like any of Dini's writing was particularly good in the Arkham games...although funny enough he was the first person to do anything decent with Hush(besides the literal catwoman heart surgery was just...moronic)

but his writing in Batman: TAS sure as hell was. I'd rather have him back than any other guy tbh.

Edit: and besides that i personally enjoyed Arkham's stories.
