Because this could not be more obviously Batman...

...it's gonna be a remake of Ninjabread Man for the Wii U.

Could the new Batman game be called Batman: Arkham Knight?

We reported on the domain names that were registered by WB over a year ago, but we’re seeing threads from that story start to re-emerge. In December, there was a rumour that the next Arkham game would be called Arkham Knight, but we haven’t had any evidence of such until now. Batman: Arkham Knight is now active, but restricted. Check it our here: http://www.batmanarkhamknight.com/

Considering when Assassin's Creed IV was revealed (late February 2013), I would not be at all surprised if this was a reveal for the next one. It's about that time again, and I'm psyched already.

I'm also down for a new Rocksteady Batman, though. Arkham Asylum and "10 out of 10" were both amazing. Dunno why they had to change the title of the second one, though. ;)

Would be nice if DC announced more than just Arkham Knight tomorrow. A new Superman or Flash...or anything, so long as it wasn't on phones or browsers, would be awesome.

Feels like Origins just came out last week and the hype train for the next game is already starting up? Sheesh

I love AA and AC. But with Origins just being released a few months ago, they need to give the game a break. That's why i didn't like that WB forced a new Batman game. They caused franchise fatigue before Rocksteady could finish their trilogy.

considering that deal about all WB games being UE3 through 2014 and all their games they're publishing this year are cross-gen, I think the probability of one of their biggest IPs being on systems with the biggest audience is pretty high.

So if Arkham Knight is a 2015 title, then it could be an UE4/"next gen" only game?

If so, here's hoping that it's a 2015 release and this is just a really early announce. I do recall Arkham City being announced a few months after Asylum's release at the VGAs in 2009 but didn't release for another 2 years (2011).

But then there's Arkham Origins, which was announced in Spring 2013 and then promptly released in the Fall. :/

Nah, and do you really want a game announced in March not due until next March? That's what we've been trying to get away from, I thought.

Good job running this franchise into the ground, really.

Don't understand this sentiment at all. They're great games, and there's only been two by Rocksteady. Maybe you could get away with saying this when there's two or three more down the road, but right now? Bring it on.

They kept the arkham name? Ugh. Well hopefully the actual game will be a bit different. I liked Origins and felt overall it was the most refined game in the series but I think the next game needs to shake things up a bit and feel fresh.

Yeah, my main issue with Origins is that it feels like a nice expansion pack and not really a full fledged sequel/prequel.

The story stuff was very nicely done and arguably better than either Rocksteady game. And the voice acting and character designs were great. But the gameplay and environmental designs mostly felt like they were just lifted from City. Outside of the story and character designs, it all felt too similar to Arkham City.

So I hope Rocksteady has some more juice in them to make this next Batman game feel fresh and not just something being pumped out to meet a deadline.

Why? Both Asylum and City were received beyond critical acclaim, and also sold well if I recall correctly. If Rocksteady can make the sequel fresh enough (as they did with AA and AC, or even more), they have my money. The series deserve one final conclusion after Arkham City.

(note that I don't talk about Origins on purpose, not that it was a bad game, but I'm talking strictly about Rocksteady)

They just can't let go of the Arkham name. Did Origins even had anything to do with Arkham Asylum? I honestly don't remember.

I for one can't wait to see what Rocksteady's able to do with the Arkham formula on next gen.
I'm crossing my fingers for a city that's not just full of inmates but where you roam around in the dark helping civilians.

If it means not having this held back by current gen, then absolutely. Already got 3 Arkham formula games for PS3/360 hardware. Not gonna go crazy over a fourth. Especially just a year after the last one. Not a fan of annualization at all.

And no, there are still plenty of game's that get announced a year or longer before release. Second Son, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, The Order, Uncharted 4, Smash Bros, just off the top of my head.

Note that City was announced in 2009 and came out in 2011.

In fact, wasn't there the exact same outcry when City was announced so soon after Asylum?

This is almost assuredly out this Fall given the obfuscated industry job postings that match Rocksteady's list a 2014 AAA release.
