Most likely because most developers using UE had games in development already when it came out. No reason to switch over in the middle of development when your custom version of UE3 works just fine.

Can I get a source for this confirmation? Everyone is saying it's UE3 and I seemed to have missed this somehow.

Unreal Engine games are very distinguishable even if they chnage the number from 3 to 4 , they always have the same feel and you can recognize them at first sight.

Dishonored and Borderlands say you're wrong. Unreal Engine games will look "unrealengine-y" only if the dev wants them too.

Anyway, this is a CG trailer, but I have no doubt the actual game will look awesome.

That is probably the best looking batsuit I've seen in a long time. Awesome trailer, hope they change up some of the formula, however. More loose movement and platforming would be nice, also whatever else they can think of.

Nothing about these games looks like Nolan's style.

As hard as it may be to believe, Nolan doesn't have the monopoly on gritty.

It's a familiar look. The suite, the design of the batmobile. Even coming from under the water. Origins did the same thing.

I preferred Rocksteady's slightly exaggerated comic style. AA and AC designs are far better than Origins, and now this game, designs.

I'll just say that I disagree. City looked...grimey, and kinda gross as opposed to Origins and now Knight.

Haha what? I think that's the point.

Thomas Wayne's voice-over was terribly written and delivered. "Don't go wasting the money on fast cars..." are you kidding me?

Not super thrilled about the nano suit, (much prefer the more classic looking suit of the previous Rocksteady games.) But still super stoked.

I don't think Rocksteady is a big enough studio to make UE3 look next-gen.

Looking at Infamous: Second Son, Quantum Break, and The Order: 1886 I hope they committed to UE4 and that explains the longer development time and lack of last-gen ports.

What would you tell your super rich 10 year old son in the event you died?

I can only imagine that embarking and disembarking the Batmobile will have to be really quick and fluid like in the trailer to incorporate it into the Arkham gameplay style.

Yeah, would be really cool if they treated it like a steed. Batman's 'Agro'!

I wasn't saying this game is UE3. I was explaining why there hasn't been much UE4 use at this point.

Okay. My bad. Was getting a little impatient with all the people already being disappointed by it! So UE3 for this game is just tales from the ass at this point?

I'm very excited for this. I enjoyed Origins a lot more than I was supposed to. Glad it's on next gen too. Rocksteady will deliver.

Kinda surprised that they aren't hyping up any new villains considering Arkham City and Arkham Origins started pimping Hugo Strange and Deathstroke in their respective debut trailers.

Totally agreed, this is a new generation show off what the hardware can do

MLB '14 is "scheduled" to be released in May for the PS4 and there's still zero footage, minus a few screen shots.

I'm in agreement. Initial CGI "trailers" need to go. Actual gameplay, and not "in game footage" either.

how in the hell did I never realize that Arkham city was an open world game??? geezus, I would have been all over that,

trailer looks great definitely will be checking this out

Hurry up and put the digital copy up Gameinformer, I want to see what this looks like in-game. That trailer was freaking sweet though and I'm glad it's current gen only.

I preferred this new realistic Batman look. I hated the over bulging muscles Batman. Batman is supposed to have a body with strength and agility. So a lean muscular Batman is more accurate.

I really like Harley's Look (shields self from beating)

It's okay. I like her too. Finally look like a damn woman with tha face. And not a whinning child.

Does anybody have any idea where they'll be taking the story? The last game had a pretty interesting ending tone wise i.e. how they would continue the series.... Looking forward to see how city effected Bruce in this setting!

I was quite excited when I saw Batman PS4 blah blah but all we have is a useless CG trailer. Wake me up when we can see the game.

It doesn't matter what I would have said. Point is that the Thomas Wayne from the comic books would not have said that to his son in a will.

Overall I liked the trailer, just don't like how far they stray from the canon established under the comic books.

Tell me it's running on UE4 then you'll have my attention.

Then what would he have said it in? A tape recorder? That was more or less something I expected Thomas Wayne to write in his will.

Maybe not the entire will. But a part of it.
