I've made my peace with holding out for the PC version. It'll be the death of me!

Trust me...

I (nervously) picked up the first 'Dark Souls' on a steam sale a few months back. I played for 7 hours and hated it (only made it to the dumb Taurus demon in those 7 hours, ugh). I didn't know about humanity, how to upgrade weapons, how to parry, or the story. In short, I quit the game for 3 weeks and went back to modding Skyrim (still love it lol). I only gave it a shot due to all the GOTG hype I've heard over the years.

HOWEVER it wasn't very long before I started to think about how that game had beat me. I started staying up late, thinking about it.. and thinking about it.. what a rotten feeling to feel like a GAME has BEAT you lol.. and so I went back and booted it up one night. I learned (by blessed accident) how to parry correctly and I learned through some forum posts how to upgrade weapons and what all the stats meant. THEN I was ecstatically blown away when I finally BEAT that Taurus demon and then AGAIN when after overcoming the freaking gargoyles!!!

In short, I've become a bit hooked haha. I just defeated Seath the other night, and still have a TON to accomplish (including the DLC). It is AMAZING to me that I have come so far in this game, and I while I still have a ways to go, I can see why Dark Souls is so highly regarded! I just went through the undead burg in 6 minutes on a second character, and that once took 6 hours! <3

Thankfully I think I have enough in this great game to keep me busy until the PC release of DARK SOULS II. Then the cycle will begin again, I imagine. lol.

Praise the Sun, gaffers!

I love Pokken!
Gave up and begun watching the stream

WTF happened to Mirror Knight? Earlier footage of him was so better looking, what a downgrade. Unless that footage was from PC

This is how Sens Fortress makes me feel. My first playthrough it nearly made me cry. I thought it was cheap, stupid and masochistic. Few playthroughs later I can run it without a death and feel so much accomplishment. It made me realize how this game forces you to actually become a better player.

Motherfucker, I honestly cannot believe that I am seriously considering buying the PS3 version while I wait for the PC release.

I have double dipped before but it's always been years after the fact, so this urge is really bothering me.

If you care about online stuff, PS3 is probably better for that anyway. PC is more liable to have hackers and cheaters.

I can see George saying that if he was a gamer.

Man the release version of this game (atleast on 360) looks nothing like the preview videos we've been seeing recently.

This fight and the area before it looked like they had no lighting whatsoever in the release build. I really don't know what happened to this game, maybe it needs a day 1 patch?

The game looks fantastic and really polished in that preview video (PS3), the final build is missing so many things visually... Most of the lighting effects are removed or severely downgraded.

It's really strange, even the name of the boss itself is different in the disc release (
Looking Glass Knight instead of Mirror Knight
).

I'm not hugely concerned about cheaters, it's mainly that I've been solely a PC gamer for a couple of years now and it feels a bit weird wanting to buy another console game. I haven't turned my PS3 on for months and months.

Shit, I'm probably going to do it.

double jump

you haven't lived until a random little kid ask you "how do you make love".
quick graphics question: Does it look as good as the console version of DS 1 ?

Good grief! Yeah Sen's fortress was insane! I think its good Dark Souls games dont keep track of my deathcount haha. Hopefully DS II has the same effect as DS has had on me! :)

So I bugged Amazon and they gave me the usual "Oh why would you change anything on an order that hasn't reached shipping phase?"

Upgraded me to 1 day shipping. Yay, so maybe I'll get it on the 12th. I'm just going to cancel it. Hopefully I can find a Black Armor edition locally, if not I'll just wait a few months for a cheap copy. I don't know why I deal with Amazon anymore. It's not uncommon for a person to make a change to an order. Are you seriously telling me that the Release Date guarantee isn't valid if I touch the order a week before release? That's fucking silly.

What the hell is the difference between poison and bleed effects? Aren't they both just a damage type you stack until you fill a bar then they slowly lose HP until cured? Why two things that do like the same thing just with different names and icons? Or is there something else to them?
