New Crazy Taxi announced (mobile, out now)

Crazy Taxi: City Rush is the new free-to-play sequel from series creator Kenji Kanno and Hardlight Studios. it’s coming to iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices later this year.

In a press release sent to VG247 today, Kanno said, “I’m very excited to finally be able to share with you the first news of Crazy Taxi: City Rush. We are delivering a truly fun game that captures everything our fans love about the original and infusing it with several new features to create an even more fantastic and memorable experience.”

To celebrate the announcement, the original Crazy Taxi is free on Android and iOS for a limited time.

No....no you are not. The platforms it is releasing on completely negates that comment.

I'd be more excited if it were an arcade game by old Hitmaker staff, but Kanno's involvement is encouraging.
Whatever happened to all of the Sega people from the Dreamcast era? They were turning out classic after classic. It's a shame those people didn't get more credit (outside of a select few) and have now drifted out into obscurity.

Crazy Taxi on a modern ipad is AMAZING. I can't look at the sites or vids, but I can't believe they are somehow going for a on-rail design?! WHY?!

If the thread title is for a Japanese game that i want to play and it doesn't mention a platform, there's a 98% chance it's mobile trash
