Infamous: Second Son |OT| Smells Like Beanie Spirit

There's got to be somewhere selling this for £39.99?

I think the current prices might drive me away from console gaming entirely.

£40 at Tesco (or £50 Beanie Edition) with code TDX-PR4N seems to be the best price around.

If you've already used a £10 off £50 new customer code before, just create another account using a different email address to use the code.

Also, it's worth noting that they charge on order placement and you'll most likely get the game on Friday instead of a day or two early like you might from other places, just in case that affects your purchasing decision.

Now that they are using Seattle as a location and can actually render real looking actual places, I wonder if they'll soft-retcon inFamous 1 and 2 to have taken place in New York City and New Orleans instead of their fictionalized counterparts.

I'm actually ecstatic about it taking place in Seattle. I live in Vancouver, and Seattle is American Vancouver. I have a little affinity for the town, even though I haven't been in a long time.

PACIFIC NORTHWEST REPRESENT!

I'd love to see an inFamous game take place in Las Vegas next.

This is what I want to know... I'd cringe if they referred to Empire City or New Marais, while walking around Seattle.

£50 at tesco for me :S

Ohhh use the code....I feel silly.

Infamous 2 does look pretty good though, all things considered (being PS3 and open world)

inFAMOUS 2 looked great in my opinion. The game had really nice texture work up close with bump/normal maps (most texture were sharp and had depth).

Watching second son screens i`m getting the impression texures weren`t their focus this time and they used most of the system resources for the particle effects, lighting and reflections.

Some good textures are there (the roads), but you can see they had to make some cutbacks regarding the textures.

anyone whos complelted both playthrus (good and evil) do you mind pointing out the significant differences in the spoiler thread :) ( as in obviously you make different choices but does that affect the missions or story a lot or not that much etc etc)

I can't agree with this at all. After playing the game for 5 hours I don't see any issues with textures. From clothing to hair to bricks, the textures are top notch.

I'm sure not EVERY texture is great to perfect, because that's just not possible, but I have yet to see anything stick out like a sore thumb, and I've been looking.

Well thank god. I thought I had been priced out of this console generation.

That's alot.

Yea the textures are damn good for an open world game, some are lacking, but brick walls in particular look sweet, especially when they are rained on

I'm not trying to be *that guy* who can't tolerate any negative opinion against a game Im looking forward too, but honestly I must have different eyes to you. I really don't see any texture issues at all.

yes, I played all day yesterday, and these are some of the best textures I've ever seen in a game.

Completely spoiler free shot, but the details and lighting blew me away!

There is one more vista that I came across that looks nothing like anything shared on this thread. It, quite literally dwarfs the shot below in draw distance.

Don't want to post it here since people should experience it on their own. It's just… too fucking good! o_O. It's so good that I wish I hadn't seen it as a screenshot first!

Well I just got to 100% on my good playthrough.

Total Time: Approximately 19 hours.

Now to play through again on Evil at the Expert difficulty level :).

Anyone have any luck getting this from Wal mart? I'm tempted to try but I hate that store

Nope, I went earlier today and it wasn't on the shelf at all. Even if it was, they usually won't let you actually buy a game before street date because it'll say "Do Not Sell" when they try to ring it up in the system.

To the beautiful people who owns the game already. I'm planning on playing my first (good) playthrough on hard. Is it unlocked from the start? Also is there one higher than hard?

Having just finished inFamous 1 last week and instantly starting 2 - it felt like going from one generation of gaming to another. It's kinda amazing how much better at the PS3 Sucker Punch got in those years.

I feel the same way about the visuals with Second Son. It's kinda incredible how much fidelity they can get out of this system right at launch. (the same can be said for Shadow Fall, to be honest)

Nope all early copies in the US have it.
Yeah, they added a "Limited Edition" DLC code to try and keep people from buying used copies. Seeing how it's not a multiplayer game they couldn't just go with the online code.

Whatever helps them sell more new copies is fine by me.

I seriously can't wait!
If you don't mind, can you please describe how good are the controls? how intuitive and fluid are they?

Thanks for the heads up.

I ordered this, although delivery looks likely to be Tuesday... :(

I guess I'll be playing Metal Gear until then, which is fine.

Edit: and I'm out of this thread. Too many spoiler possibilities, it's like walking a tight-rope over a minefield in here. Ciao!

Very good. Although sometimes it's a little weird to have dash on circle and jump on x.

Big changes on second play through or a few missions only?

I don't know, but I think the karma system in this game disappointed me. There weren't really any meaningful choices to make.

But, I will reserve my final judgements for when I beat it as a bad guy.

I just. Keep. Refreshing. This. Thread.

I am so hungry for this game I am caught between an overwhelming desire to live vicariously and an intention to experience it as fresh as possible.

IT'S TEARING ME APART, LISA.

I just finished the story on good. I'm not sure if I want to 100% on my good or evil play through. I'm not going to start my evil one until the day one patch, though.
