No way Second Son beats out Ground Zeroes, although it would be great if it did.

Sony and Sucker Punch Productions can celebrate a first PS4-only All Formats No1 thanks to ‘Infamous: Second Son’ which debuts as the second biggest week 1 PS4 new release, behind ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall’ which was of course the major launch title for PS4 back in week 48, 2013 (debuted at No4 on the All Formats). ‘Infamous: Second Son’ is third in the series: original ‘Infamous’ debuted on PS3 back in week 22, 2009 (at No5 on the All Formats Chart) followed by ‘Infamous 2’ also on PS3 back in week 23, 2011 (at No4). Konami can also celebrate thanks to ‘Metal Gear Solid V: Gound Zeroes’ which debuts at No2 on 4 formats – the game is a prologue to the forthcoming ‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’. EA’s ‘Titanfall’ (-73%) drops from No1 to No3 and at No4 we have the third and final new release of the week within the All Formats Top 40, Square Enix’s ‘Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster’ for PS3/Vita. Ubisoft’s ‘South Park: The Stick of Truth’ drops 2 places to No5 (-48%) and EA remain at No6 with ‘FIFA 14’ (+9%) - still its lowest overall chart position since launch 26 weeks ago. Bandai Namco’s ‘Dark Souls II’ (-71%) drops 5 places to No7, Warner drop 4 places to No8 with ‘The Lego Movie Videogame’ (-16%), EA’s ‘Plants Vs Zombies:Garden Warfare’ drops 2 places to No9 (-31%) and Microsoft occupy 10th spot, down 1 place from last week with perenniel favourite ‘Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition’ (+2%) – this game has spent 35 of its 39 weeks within the All Formats Top 10.

To the best of my knowledge we've never had any accurate leaks of hardware sales outside of the US.

Rest of the world numbers are MIA most of the time

And no software number too. I always want to know what the difference between 1st and 10th or 40th which I'm betting very small everytime.

Going by positions that seems to be a nice hold for Yoshi's Island 3 :).

EDIT: And great start in France, in front of Dark Souls PS3 is a nice result!

Do we know how much Killzone sold at launch?

Don't think we know numbers, but considering that buying it was one of the only ways to get a PS4 and those were counted, I would say a conservative estimate would be "a fuck ton".

Think InFamous did better than it would have by the bundle being the only way to get a PS4 too. Not discounting the game as I think it would have stood up on its own too, but it would have helped.

Really pleased to see Second Son at the top spot. It's a cracking game.

I grabbed a digital copy so I don't count I'm afraid.

Some really good games in the top 5. 2 of which are my current favorites: "inFamous Second Son" and "South Park: The Stick of Truth".

nah I doubt it. Would lead to some hilarious meltdowns if it does happen tho lol

I:SS with an impressive start. Better than I imagined at least because I was sure Ground Zero would top it.

The Titanfall drop is insane. I can see why Dark Souls drop, it's a bit of a niche product due to difficulty etc. But Titanfall has mainstream written all over it. I bet MS/EA did some heavy marketing in the UK too.

Considering Sony announced more preorders for infamous in the UK than the last of us had at the same time from release a couple of weeks ago this is unsurprising.
The MGS PS4 share though.. Woah.

Yeah, that's the biggest surprise here. Quite the drop.

it kinda makes sense to me, i mean, install base ain't big enough, this game should have been released next christmas.Too early in my opinion. Once current XBO owners and a those newcomers waiting for it and who probably bought the bundle, who is left?

Was more surprised by the skew on PS4 vs PS3. Perhaps the 'day one buyer' audience is transitioning very quickly to next-gen.

I didn't actually pay any heed to that, but you're right, that is a huge slant towards current-gen. If consumers are leaving last-gen in the dust and opting for new consoles in droves already then that's a terrific and healthy sign for the market.

Yeah, that's the biggest surprise here. Quite the drop.

am i the odd one here feeling it has quite a less of a drop. I was expecting around 80%. maybe i m spending too much time in Japan sales thread..

But i thought the hype of TF has fallen and Wallmart & Amazon discounts shows that the interest in TF is rapidly eroding..
